Latest info is that the exploit may not be patched in the June update. However, the game script app has apparently been taken off the store. Reconnecting is still risky as it may deactivate the game script app that you already have installed.

Hi everyone, as of now - (Australian Eastern Standard Time); the old firmware OS version: 10.0.25398.4478 is still available, so are the Notepaid T and Adv File Explorer apps but unfortunately the Game Script app has been removed which means even if you're lucky enough to be on the older firmware and get the other 2 apps, without the Game Script one to run custom codes the hack will not work...not sure if I'm the only one but yeah this is the situation as of right now. I believe the newer firmware update will released in the next 12 hours.
I’ve reconnected to Wi-Fi, downloaded Notepad T’ and Adv File Explorer, and confirmed that Game Script is still working.
Thanks! Still on the old firmware, was able to get both apps. Since I already had gamescript, that is still installed as well. Did that on 3 Xbox consoles and also switched home Xbox back and forth so all now should think they’re the home Xbox.

if you dont have file explorer or notepad and dont want to buy a ducky or pico you can set up a filebrowser server on your network and connect to it through microsoft edge and it will work even with the dns loopback on (i dont think the loopback seems to work on wifi at least it didnt for me so make sure you on ethernet)

Literally got on my Series S right now and downloaded the note pad and did the poc while online.. copied the script from the edge browser and pasted it into the script app directly

Hi guys here in Brazil they haven't updated yet and it's possible to go online and download the notepad T from the store for now but the Game script is unfortunately no longer available.
Just downloaded both apps and the first method worked at 9:45pm cst 06/12 😊
So just now the new firmware has been released, you may just hit the pop up no to update and download the app while it still allows you to, though I have both pico and ducky, its always wise to keep your options for future developments. uncheck the boxes to automatically update and change DNS settings back once done
About 8pm et time just went online no update downloaded notepad NY location. People are also reporting running the code on the June update still promotes successful results

3:47PM AEST time and I have just finished doing this on Series and regular Xbox consoles.
Update didnt install but was seemingly detected on regular xbox, series didnt show "update" in setting yet.
installed notepad t and adv file explorer from store. Rest was set up yesterday per previous video.
Having to do it all at basically midnight was fun in a blind panic but I got er done 👍

Notepad, Adv File explore if you wish the update is here but lucky i did **Do not automatically update** so i could still access Microsoft store and get these and go back offline (Ofc opened them)

I have a Series X, on the 1409 update and have the game script app installed and have performed the steps required received the expected 1337 console output. :)
Hopefully it isn't patched for me for whatever comes out of this in the future.
Looking more and more like the latest firmware did not patch this vulnerability BUT the game script app has been removed from the store. So if you didn't do that part previously, you won't be able to do it regardless if you updated to the June update or not.

I've just logged back into Xbox Live to get the notepad and file manager app and no update 🥳 While I'm online I plugged in and setup a 4TB USB hard drive and downloading as many of my legit digital games that I can.

I have an older fw version than when the exploit was found (3864). How could we go about side loading the GS app and other software needed to get this working? With PS3 & PS4 all you need is the app you are wanting to install put on a USB flash drive and you can manually install that way.
As a precaution I've already turned off auto updates and changed my DNS settings. From my experience with past exploits, the older fw versions typically will work it just takes time for developers to code everything.
I'm sure there are sites that archive each fw update, just like with PlayStation. If i need to be on this specific fw version I'm sure that info will be made as time passes. Hopefully we'll be able to update to that specific fw using a to flash drive, then upload software as needed.
Although it's been mentioned that this exploit will never allow X Box One backups/dumps to be run, it there any chance of this running emulators like Xenia or RPCS3? is the system powerful enough for the emus? or id there a native emulator on the xbox that will allow 360 titles to be run?
Backups never coming, maybe save modding if you are lucky. Game piracy is largely dead

Xenia is a available in dev mode and this exploit is basically dev mode access without needing dev mode so yes.
from the person who discovered the exploit, "this exploit will allow full control over this vm homebrew on retail consoles without dev mode. it will NOT allow piracy. my goal is to release (probably early next month) the exploit for xbox one/series consoles which will allow full kernel read/write in systemos. this is NOT a "jailbreak". systemos is the virtual machine where apps run, its the environment you get control over when you enable dev mode on your console."

raspberry pi are not exactly useless, they also help with jailbreaking PS4 for 9.00 and 11.00 (as well as possibly the PS5). You could repurpose it

by pasting this script does this do anything other than prove ur able to hack the console, for example will this make my life any easier in the long run ?
easier? That's not really the purpose but more features will probably come from this exploit

@@ethanmills7175 It's just proof of concept, you can do it to check to see if the exploit works on your Xbox but that's all.

What country are you in? If you don’t mind answering? I’m in the US, and it pushed the June update to me already, apparently..and I’m not on any “insider” anything..as far as I know.

same here i believe its something to do with your wifi being set to ipv6 to get ipv4 i used my mobile hotspot

Then you won't have the "game script" app that is required to exploit. It's already been removed from the store if you haven't got it already

It's still too late. Because if you're still on the May update, you can't go online to download the gamescript app without updating
Damm, I downloaded the offline update file like 3 days ago to restore my Xbox One X, but being almost 7Gb would take days with my internet to upload ☠️
It’s still possible am on the may update and you have to look for it in apps type in game or game script .
Xbox doesn’t update unless you have instant on.
If you have your Xbox on power delivery it won’t update till you trigger the update as I can still go online and download stuff on my Xbox one x Scorpio 😅

Does the console need to remain offline after indefinitely so that the exploit isn't patched like a PS4?
The general rule is that if you hack(exploit/jailbreak) a console, it strongly recommended to not go online with that console, except maybe only after you hard format it and install the latest firmware to use it as intended. Otherwise no, because you'll risk the ban hammer.
So because this is a POC and not the exploit itself, isn’t this only telling us that the console is vulnerable? So my question is - will there be releases of other apps or code to run on GS to exploit the OS? 🤦🏽♂️ only thing is my GS is working but not notepadT nor AdvFM

So I took my Xbox One X online after never once connecting to the internet AT ALL before today, (about 2 hours ago) and it pushed the June (4908) update to me...
However! I WAS still able to run the payload in Game Script and still received the “1337” output in the console window...
..what exactly does this mean? Am I on a good firmware for this?

Also, I’ve never enrolled in any of the “insider” stuff and the only two apps on my Home Screen are the “Game Script” app and “Xbox Support” so I’m almost 100% certain this isn’t some beta build...and when I look on Microsoft’s Xbox Support website it does indeed show that the 4908 update was released today..

@@LNCRFT I am not a part of that, no. There’s no “insider hub” app on my console, and I literally just created an account/username today for the sole purpose of logging into this specific Xbox..and downloading the Game Script app.

@@ItsTheRealMrMaD the Xbox could be part of that anyway if you’ve bought it used. Mine was also part of that program and I had to manually remove the console from the insider program because it was registered with a different gamer tag.

This is driving me insane. As soon as I plug in my Pico into either the PC or Xbox, both go haywire, opening and closing stuff, only way to stop it is to unplug it.

Okay. When I finally get this to "work", the code in Game Script is displaying a lot of Å Ä Ö, which I am pretty sure it's not supposed to do.

@@McKuc Will do, don't know if this is just modern day xbox being modern day xbox or if something is wrong with my system, but I'm having issues installing the apps despite their small size. This also happened while downloading a game update recently. Still have hope though as nothing has changed and I unchecked auto updates previously.

We can already play 360 backups through developer mode, no exploit needed for that

Still able to download notepad T on east coast, NC as of 06/12/24 10pm. no update pushed. I did try with a vpn as well set to australia. It would connect to internet and store , but app would not download. Both X and series S now have gamescript and notepad t, hope we didnt miss anything else. lol. Is Kodi worth downloading ?

You can host a web server with your phone and connect to it on the xbox one with edge and copy and paste the file from there

you had to open the app while connected to xbl at least once so it can cache the license file for the app
The Xbox jailbreak so far seems pretty pointless it's just for free Dev mode unless you're able to run game back ups later on but as far as I know it's only for free Dev Mode

Xbox is far too secure. At best we can hope for is to get unencrypted content off the Xbox one and maybe someone can make an emulator for Xbox one games on PC

Ik this 2 weeks late but im just say it now doing anything modding on xbox one or series will possibly get your console ban and then you have to buy new one again and there is yet no way to unban a xbox one or series yet or there might not be any way to do it so good luck on trying not to get your xbox ban from doing this
I think most people here is gonna miss out by locking them self in to the offline jail. As the developer stated this is not a jailbreak and will probably not surpass any functionality that UWP mode can't already do,

Can confirm the PoC script works perfectly fine on 4908 as well. Had an old Xbox One X I did a couple of nights ago and got updated to 4478 and had no issues. Yesterday I tried the same with the Series X but got the 4908 installed instead. So I thought I was f*d. But I managed to install game script, notepad t, adv file explorer. A few minutes ago I tried the PoC and got the 1337 message, so yeah, MS didn´t fix it.
Is there a link to a good pico pi w to use and buy for this off Amazon?
Any Pico / Pico W is fine, doesn't matter if it's bare board or with pins, you won't be using them only the USB port. Amazon will find them if you search, I basically bought one yesterday for £6 which will turn up later today, it's a basic Pico no pins, the Pico W was £9.
The only real difference between the two with or without pins is someone will charge a small mark up for having to pin it. As for Pico vs Pico W it's if you want the wifi on it or not. I don't know if Pico Ducky even lets you update payloads over wifi, if it doesn't then the W really isn't needed.
@majikthise7063 Thank you. This helps I almost paid more for something I didn't need. I got the basic pico pi with no pins or wifi for $8 usa instead of paying $16 for features I didn't need, so I saved $8. Thank you for your help.
