    Great video as always.
As a 4 year user of rechargeable Resound Linx Quattro 961 hearing aids whose batteries have failed once each year (and the charger failed twice also) in the 4 years of my warranty, had I been offered a disposable battery version at the start of my hearing aid journey, knowing what I know now, I would have taken it.
Loosing my hearing aids for 14 days at a time while they are serviced/replaced is way too long to be isolated from family and friends.
My next hearing aids will definitely be a disposable battery model.

My audiologist said they had to send Resound hearing aids every 5 years due to battery fail.
I would recommend trying to get your audiologist to request a replacement device if it's still under warranty
My audiologist said with Phonak I should get 6 years before battery replacements are needed
I understand that most patients requires or perfer disposable batteries but for me I just like rechargeable as it's convenient

I am also super excited about this! Thanks so much for keeping us informed! As I’ve said before in some of my other comments, I happen to be a completely blind hearing aid user, and disposable hearing aids make me significantly less nervous while going out and about my everyday life.

Such great news!!! May have to upgrade my Marvels to the Lumity version now while waiting for LE Audio. Glad to see Phonak isn't leaving the old battery tech behind. The new LE Audio chips will hopefully be sufficiently "Low Energy" that rechargeable batteries will be a realistic option for the power users that stream all day.

It’s good to know that Phonak has been listening to what features consumers want in their hearing devices. During my trial period, i kept changing my mind on rechargeable or disposable battery devices. While i am generally happy with the Phonak Lumity battery life and Bluetooth connectivity, the battery always goes to low power mode a few hours before I am ready to take them off for the day. On days when i have late Zoom meetings, i put mine on a few hours later in the day to try and keep the rechargeable battery running until the end of my meeting without having to pop them into the charger in the afternoon. I am also glad Phonak is making changes in the app. i still haven’t been able to get the app to sync and. accurately track my wear time. Also, nice photo of Dr. Frink. I love having him as my audiologist.

Thanks for this comment. After being widex user for over 16 years I’ve decided to switch to another brand given their arrogance towards customers and overall user experience. In their most advanced and expensive model, the Bluetooth connectivity tends to get faulty at times, the sound quality is very poor and gets distorted, I have troubles hearing in loud and quiet environments despite the many adjustments I went through, the sound processor had to be changed to a new one after just two years + the app has so many annoying issues + lacking some functionality. May I ask do you use zoom on your mobile? How about phonak’s sound quality? Is listening to music pleasurable? Do you experience any issues with sound distortion or connectivity while streaming music to Bluetooth device?

I have Oticon real 1 rechargeable I stream all my calls and do some streaming music, after 15 hours of use I still have 30% battery left. What I like about Oticon is the rechargeable battery can be replaced at my audiologist office with no down time. Plus not having to buy batteries, so it’s rechargeable for me.

Thanks for the review. I am currently trialing Phonak Lumity disposable battery in the L70 model. When I am streaming the sound is too loud & I can’t turn down the volume lower on my phone. I assume my audiologist can adjust the volume for me, is that right?
Also there seems to be white noise in the background when I start streaming anything on my phone, I assume this is related to the streaming volume, do you agree?

I have the charger on the go case plus my old marvel hearing aids as a backup but for people you don't have the old ones as a backup then this hearing aid might be a good one for them

I upgraded to Phonak Lumity 70 with a CROS a couple of months. I love them, except for the battery life. I did have the firmware updated last month and it makes the Bluetooth for streaming more consistent and the battery life is a bit better. I still top up the aids most afternoons when I am working. They do charge very fast. Luckily, I have my older Phonak Audeo aids for backup.

I just started using the Phonak lumity 70 hearing aids and I love them except for the fact that the battery power goes low by the middle of the evening without using streaming. If I stream the battery requires charging sooner. I'm glad to hear that I have another option

Can you make a video comparing the Audeo Lumity with a UP receiver vs the Naida Lumity SP? I looked up the product information and datasheets for both and they seem to have similar outputs and fitting ranges. I am not sure what the specific use cases are for each if they're somewhat similar. For context, I am a current owner of Naida B90 SPs looking to switch to Audeo Lumity (battery version) with UP receiver.

In terms of tinnitus, is the L90 better than L70 in the Phonak disposable battery? I am trialing both and can’t notice a difference for my tinnitus.

Hi I’m in Australia- I have severe to profound loss in both ears. I use battery BTE Zircon 1 aids. They are set to the top they can but I’m now looking for better support. These mentioned might be an option 😊

Only real disappointment is the lack of tap control - not a deal breaker, just a point of frustration, as it does not need to be tied into a rechargeable battery. It's just been engineered that way and I suppose this was the most cost-effective way to get a disposable option to market - dump the feature. Still easy to answer via a phone screen that's almost always near me anyway. That said, I do use the tap control to disconnect from my TV Connector when I need to hear/speak with others in the room.
Every disposable battery device I've ever owned from Phonak was a size 13 battery. Even SP model devices would get me at least 10 days, if not 12 to 14 on average. While I know Bluetooth and even Roger streaming affects battery life, have Phonak published expected battery life on any of the Lumity disposable battery devices? I didn't see it when the Naida L-UP came out, and don't see it with these new Audeo and Naida devices either. Is an Audeo L-312 going to give a week of 15 hour usage, 10 days of it, or what? Ballpark estimate would be helpful.

I couldn't agree any more about the benefits of disposable batteries. Thought my decision to select Resounds customs rechargeables was the best choice, however after experiencing repeated charging failures (and other app issues) I am happy to say I changed over to Phonak's Virto Paradise 312. I can't tell you how much better they work across the board, but keeping on topic I thought the disposable would be a bit of a pain, but not so. I don't have worry about if I have enough charge to get me through my needs, or the need to have the charger with me (hoping it will work) but I picked up a two battery caddy that I keep on my key chain so I'm always covered. The batteries last me 6-7 days and I do a fair amount of streaming. I hope they will continue to offer disposables!

Okay. this is better news. The two models that take size 13 batteries might be a good fit for me.
    But…
Can I override the auto-program selection and pick my own program? Thanks!!

Being SSD myself, it is beyond me how they decided not to include a cros transmitter option with this release. I have the Lumity rechargeable version with a Cros transmitter, and when I wear both, the MAX time I can get is about 10 hours. That’s terrible. Each day I have to decide whether I can wear the Cros based on if I’m going to have the time and opportunity at some point during the day to recharge them. Kind of defeats the freaking purpose. 🤬

Another problem: rechargeable batteries gradually fail over time. For example, my iPhone battery now has only 80% of the capacity that it had when new. How long will a charge last when my $3000 hearing aids are a few years old? (All this to say nothing of devices with unreplaceable batteries eventually becoming just so much e-waste.)

Would willingly pay an upgrade fee to swap from L90-RT to L-312. The loss of telecoil would be outweighed by the replaceable battery. 15-16 hours on a charge is just unacceptable for my needs when I'm frequently traveling, at work sites, or out and about for long days. Having to carry a battery pack and stop for 15-30 minutes for a charge boost is ridiculous.

That's why I have Phonak Audeo Lumity L70 RL Life where I can bring the charger case go and charge on the Go.
I get 27 hours of battery life on my hearing aids without heavy streaming.
And if I stream heavy all day (morning to night) I get 14 hours.
But if I plan on traveling from one state to next I wouldn't recommend streaming constantly as it will drain the battery fast.
I don't steam heavily constantly all day so that does help with battery

Too bad Phonak sucks. I haven't been able to have a decent phone conversation with my Lumity Life since September when a firmware update caused my audio to be garbled. They keep sending me new HA with the same bad firmware and wondering why I'm still severely garbled on most phone calls. I even upgraded my Iphone 14 pro max to the 15 pro max. Still have garbled audio. They have done nothing for me in 5 months. I actually have an appointment today with my AUD and another Phonak rep. The first one did nothing. I hope this one has some solutions for me. Telling me I can just use my Iphone speaker is total BS. Though it instantly fixes the problem. Phonak not only ignored me, they ignored my AUD as well. They only responded after I started posting on social media. They needs to step up.
