What is Real Ear Measurement?

Real Ear Measurement is a service that Audiologists and Hearing Instrument Specialists can use to verify that a hearing aid fitting is correct. What makes it "correct"? A correct fitting ensures that the person can hear all parts of speech optimally and this process takes into account the person's ear canals, degree of hearing loss, and the hearing aids being fit. It uses targets that were created by the National Acoustical Laboratories and is considered the Gold Standard of Best Practices in Audiology and hearing aid fitting.
