I'm looking forward to the Rock and Roll Al Nite journal. Beautiful thoughts of the Metal Memories magazine and your Mom buying it for you. That is pure nostalgia and personal fun in your own Kisstory. The HITS studio album was the last vinyl record I bought in November '89 for almost a decade after. I saw the HITS tour in October '90 with Slaughter and Winger opening, KISS played for over 2 hours. It was at the same small Ontario hockey arena where I saw my first rock concert 13 years earlier. KISS, with Cheap Trick opening on the Love Gun Canadian summer tour in '77. The Hot in the Shade tour especially was a return-to-form for KISS hardcore fans of the 70s.
Thank you so much. I hope you dig it. The setlist for HITS was amazing. And I agree, it was a return to their history, which probably led them down the path they would take just a few short years later. Have a great week!
I love how every Kiss fan has a different timeline when they jumped into the world of Kiss and how that often it ends up being their most nostalgic era, my first new Kiss record was Rock and Roll Over. Great stuff thanks for sharing
Heck yes. I love that. ROCK AND ROLL OVER would have been such a killer record for your first. That album burns from beginning to end. Love to hear that. Have a great week! Happy Thanksgiving. 🤘
Thank you so much! Dig that you are from Australia. The 1980 magic of KISS in Australia was super big to me growing up. Hope you dig the bundle! Have a great weekend! 🤘🙏
Yeah ric! Those late 80’s magazines are awesome! I remember going to the magazine /book store in the mall! I was never able to get the Exposed magazine ! The tour writer is awesome! Could you by chance see in it if there is anything for July 18 Johnson city Tn Freedom hall ! The hot in the shade tour book escaped me! When I was at the show ! I didn’t even think about the merch stand! The glossy hot n the shade poster is very mind blowing ! Speaking in teenage age years! I like looking on eBay or google ! Trying to look at toys that I had and having the empire strikes back curtains and bedspread! I see so much stuff I use to have! I wish I could buy that stuff to recreate my old bedroom! That would be so fun! I tend to look back in time a lot! Theirs Great things and theirs sad things ! Theirs people that didn’t make to the present time and it’s just not a good feeling! ⚡️space ace ron⚡️ 🤘 Rip Eric carr 🦊
Oh man, recreating your childhood bedroom is a wonderful idea! I use to have the Darth Vader Cake pan when I was a kid. Many a birthday party was hosted using that. I would love to find that again. I may have to buy the EMPIRE soundtrack on vinyl as a little personal Christmas gift to myself. I remember getting that when I was a kid. The tour book is for the 2nd leg, it spans from September to the final show in November at Madison Square Garden, so it didn't have July. It's pretty cool though, show hotel check in's, phone numbers, days off for the band, schedules for bus drivers to sleep etc. Have a great week!
Ric ! Awesome video. I celebrate with you. HITS, I wasn't a big fan of it, but I am very happy it recruited new fans like you. The tour concert set and songs were awesome ! What a good time that was. I had most all those magazines you showed. Im not sure where they are today 😢, but its all good. Have a good weekend.
Totally agree! 89 through 93 (ALIVE III) was such a cool time to be a KISS fan. Seemed super cool currently, also playing very much into the history of the band. Best of both worlds. Have a great weekend, and happy thanksgiving! 🙏🤘
Hot in the Shade was my first time seeing Kiss live as well. Saw them twice on that tour: Long Beach Arena which was sold out and then at San Diego Sports Arena. HITS is one of my top fav Kiss albums! I also have the 30th anniversary blue vinyl, so I decided to pass on the 40th anniversary edition. Happy Thanksgiving!
Those would have been incredible shows to be at. That's awesome. Loved to hear you like the record. So many people bag on it, to me it was a great time to be a fan. You could feel the energy moving. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Have a wonderful week. 🤘🙏🦃
I saw the HITS tour in at Charleston civic center West Virginia . Slaughter and Faster Pussycat opened the show. I still have the newspaper from the next day reviewing the show. Such fun. This is my favorite non-makeup era. I remember buying those magazines at the local drug store. I think I have all the magazines from the 80s and 90s. I bought the metal edge magazines that had just articles of KISS or Ace during the comet years of them in the studio and one issue was the recording of HITS. Cool pictures and I have a KISS Krazy fanzine with them for HITS. Great video Ric. Keep up the good work. Happy Thanksgiving buddy.
Awesome! The HITS show was so much fun. Those magazine you mentioned, just bring a smile to my face. Such a fun time. Have a great Thanksgiving as well. Take care.
I'll always have a soft spot for Hot in the Shade because that was the first time I saw them live (Slaughter and Faster Pussycat opening) 🤘 Such an awesome show. Have a great weekend!🎉
@@ItsAllForYouDemon I remember Slaughter but not Faster Pussycat from that night (I was there in KCK too @tonyp8849). I must have been in the parking lot having a great time. FYI, alcohol wasn't meant to be drank though a Kwik Shop big squeeze. Ahh, learning life lessons.
Great video man, you could feel how much HITS means to you,,enjoy Danny's show tonight, I know it'll be fun...this time next week I will have ordered a new KISS item,,woohoo,, and not on the Evilbay...hahah
That is pretty Rad man. Part of me thinks the camels are a throwback to the Casablanca label days. Or it could have just been a happy accident, most likely. Yeah KOL has been in rounds on what they have been doing for re-releases. First it was colored vinyl, then after that round they starting adding picture disks and the bundles, then they started adding in the foil covers, and throwing in a few box sets. Who knows where they will go from here. I think it would be cool to do more box sets, also some off the soundboards. Awesome video man. I'm ready for that journal!
Cool, you got a t-shirt, that's a good one. I bought a few KISS centered magazines that came out in 86/87, pre-Crazy Nights. I got some cool make up era posters. This was around the time KISS Exposed was out. I wish I'd have kept them in good condition instead of using the pin-ups & posters.
I'm with you on that. I taped so many posters to my walls as a kid, I kind of regret it, but at the same time, I don't. Sometimes that kind of stuff is the magic of collecting. LOL. Shows history. Have a great weekend!
@@ItsAllForYouDemon I still have most of them, including the pin-ups & photo's I cut out to tape to my notebook at school. They're in a folder along with the posters. I kept them in as good of shape as I could. Considering their age they're in very good shape. 40th anniversary RATT Out of the Cellar with unreleased track "Reach for the Sky". from the 1983/84 OotC recording sessions. Mine's ordered & soon on the way. If you haven't heard the new song it's worth checking it out. You'll recognize the sound linking it to the OotC period. I wonder if it was considered for the Reach for the Sky album? It wouldn't have fit on that album in my opinion. Maybe if they re-recorded it in 88 it may have fit better.
Awsome video man cool hot in the shade bundle the hoodie looks cool but yeah the camels aren't needed i got the album when i turned 17 along with hotter than hell and revenge and my favorites off of it are you love me to hate you somewhere between hevan and hell the street giveth sliver spoon and little ceaser have a great weekend my man and take care
I always liked Hot in the shade, tour was awesome! Saw them in Springfield Massachusetts with slaughter and little ceaser. I loved that magazine too... have a great weekend Ric .
That’s awesome. Such a fun tour! I need to lookup who opened at our show. I want to say Slaughter & Faster Pussycat? Will need to check that out. I’m curious now. You Have a good weekend too! Happy Thanksgiving ! 🙏🤘

How about an autographed copy of the book ? Special edition?
Was that a camaro i see??
I come from a camaro family. I use to have a 1979, a 1981, and a 1987 camaro in my day. My dad still has his 67 Camaro
That's awesome! Yeah, Danny's was an 81' I believe. We traveled to a lot of rock shows in that thing. Good times. Have a great weekend.
It is an awesome album, but also a sad one for me, because it was the last album eric carr, made with them😢.
Very true! 🙏. Have a great weekend!
