Sunflower Flat

Sun, Aug 25, 2024, Railside Riders rode from Railside RV Ranch in Williams, AZ to the Sunflower Flat Wildlife Area. Located in the Kaibab National Forest, the area is only 17 miles from Railside. There are 2 ways to get there. The trail entering from the east has less mud puddles this time of the year than riding from the west (FR14). The wildlife area is a 160-acre marsh. It is a habitat for migratory waterfowl, bald eagles, osprey, and other birds of prey. Pronghorn elk, turkey and deer may also be seen. Worth the time to visit when the flowers are blooming.
