Chicken Skewers | Shish Tawook Recipe | With Marinated Rice
Ingredients as added
To season chicken
1 big onion
½ red bell pepper
3 tablespoons yogurt
2 lemons juice
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon salt, or to taste
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon curry
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon minced ginger
700gm chicken breast
Vegetables
Hot pepper
Bell pepper
Tomatoes
Onion
Arrangement in the wooden sticks
Onion - Chicken - Yellow bell pepper - Chicken - Green bell pepper - Chicken - Red bell pepper - Chicken - Hot pepper - Chicken - Tomato ... or as desired
To make spiced rice
3 tablespoons of oil
1 large onion chopped
1 grated carrot
Hot pepper
Cinnamon
1 cup grated tomato
1 tablespoon salt
½ teaspoon of curry
½ teaspoon of turmeric
½ teaspoon of saffron yolk
3 cups basmati rice, washed only
1 cube chicken broth
Boiled water at the rate of 1 and ½ cups for each cup of rice

That dish looks super delicious ! Shish Tawook is a typical Syrian recipe for grilled (chicken) skewers. I am Dutch, but my neighbour below is Syrian, and we have a Syrian restaurant in our city, which offers great food at a reasonable price. Never thought or imagined that Syrian people are so friendly, and willing to integrate in our society and do all for a good living. They truly deserve my respect.
