This really is the best budget comms setup that will enhance your hearing, protect from loud noise and give you covert communication with your team. We are mostly civilians with some military guys mixed in, so to be able to get comms up and running for everyone, this is hands down the way we went. Simply put it works.
I’m assuming your airsoft right? How has it held up?
@@FaithFirstFishing for airsoft/milsim/blue gun training, it holds up well. Using "safe" Frequencies it works well for training. For real work some different comms are preferred. In current war those using BaoFeng's get mortared due to signal tracking.
@@knightteam6 thanks a lot. I’m thinking about getting some for milsim / combat training. Honestly can’t get a better product for the price.
Why do you need hearing protection for airsoft lol. I get having comms but ear pro? Lol
@@collander7766 so some airsoft fields alow flash bangs (kinda loud) and milsim (simulates was, also kinda loud) but this type of ear pro also amplifies sounds around you that aren't harmful, giving you an advantage over unprepared individuals. Plus if you take airsoft to the next natural step, (force on force training) you're around a lot more noise so it's a really cheap force multiplier.
I’ve got so many UV5Rs . They are addicting to collect
Exactly what I was looking for, please do updates when you can.
Perfect timing I was skeptical about the slim boom mics durability this setup seems like its the better option for me.
Specifically I sought this out for that problem. The slim mic is excellent for covert setups, but other than that there are better solutions
Dang... Just bought 4 sets of the other set-up! This is perfect for upgrading to the better ptt system
I have the FCS brand AMPS headset with the FCS brand V20 PTT, and the Kenwood adapter. The PTT is amplified, so it allows the use of digital radios without the low audio issues.
Earned a sub with this one, good vid
Thank you for your research… And the video! This will be my very first comms set up… Exactly what do I need for the dedicated covert?
Hell yeah! Subscribed. I want this exact setup
Hey mate, thanks for the video. Could you please once more list the the cables/adapters etc needed to get the sound to work between these two, and in which order?
- Sordin Supreme Pro X
- BaoFeng UV-5R
That's it?
1. Connect "Slim Boom Mic" 3.5mm male to Sordin Supreme Pro X 3.5mm female
2. Connect "Slim Boom Mic" U-174/TP-120 male to "CovertArms MultiMount Mic PTT P1" 174/TP-120 female
3. Connect "CovertArms MultiMount Mic PTT P1" 2-pin male to BaoFeng UV-5R 2-pin female
There's two options: either slim boom mic and btech 3.5mm ptt, or multimount mic and multimount mic ptt. They cannot be used interchangeably. That's all you need.
Very nice setup!
Need a 90 degree connector for the 3.5mm plug 👍
Nice , just came across this, now just starting to get My coms set up, got a cattail antenna on the way. Like the idea of the boom attached to my impact head set using the ptt1
Hola , este tipo de audífonos te aíslan del ruido alrededor??? o te permiten escuchar tu entorno???? GRACIAS.
I do like your setup however the Walker Razor noise canceling headset with the Walker two radio attached is CHEAP and works great I use them off roading and NO wires to deal with!!! I also attached them to my team Wendy bump helmet they work flawlessly! They operate on FRS/GMRS frequencies so I can communicate with everyone I with on the trail when they are using their handheld radios.
What mount did you use to put them on the exfils?
🙌
Okay now explain to me how to put the wires where and to tuck them away so they don’t get in your way😅
I run them through my plate carrier
Pairing $600 comtacs with a $20 UV5R is like pairing a $2000 DD rifle with a $40 airsoft red dot
Not quite. The needed factors are a little different. I'd say it's like using a Vortex red dot vs an aimpoint
Don't know if youll see this but if anyone knows anything that would be awesome. I have this setup except with your PTT 2 and there is a noticeable squeal when i transmit and especially when i turn my head right. My baofeng also has the abbree 42 inch antenna. Do you have any idea why I might be getting feedback?
Consider selling the earmor m32 & there PTT
I will!
I have a uv9g. How can I setup a similar setup with a radio that uses a waterproof kenwood type hand mic connection? Do not have the k type plug.
You need a multi mount mic to 3.5mm adapter they sell them on defense distributors webiste
Any solutions for a yaesu vx-6r?
i have howard’s lights and i bought everything to get them to work like comms with a uv5r from you guys and my voice is really quiet on just a stand alone receiving uv5r. and the transmission i’m receiving is really quiet too. is there a way to turn the voice up but keep the ambient noise in the head set down? or do i need an amplified ptt? or is the ptt i got from you guys not good?
If everything is from us there shouldn't be a problem. It may be loud, but make sure you have the volume up on the radio and the headset so we can confirm that's not the issue
I've got a couple of the slim boom mics from yall and I just don't like them. tried a couple headsets. I'm looking forward to trying this one since it seems more robust and stable. the slim mic doesn't sit in the 3.5mm socket tightly and it is hard to keep angled right. the foam pops off with a light breeze and the cabling is flimsy.
It's definitely intended for covert use cases, designed to be slim and not robust
do you know it the PTT works for the gm15 radio?
If it has a traditional Kenwood k1 2-prong connector like the uv5r it will
Any idea if these would work with PRC radios? Given the proper adaptions
Would it work with the M31H MOD3?
Any thoughts on when this will be available?
The backorder as of this moment is small, I'd backorder if you want one
Please say specifically the part which connects from the ear protections to the TPP?? Thank you.
If I wanted to do just the covert PTT set up , what parts do I need?
I already have the ear pro and beofeng
If you are wanting to use the multimount mic, you would need the multimount mic ptt p1c and a multimount mic
What antenna do you recommend for rugged use and more range?
Is the boom mic a dynamic or non-dynamic mic?
Does it come with extra Velcro?
So I could remove the mic and put it on a helmet mount as well?
It comes with 1 extra mount strip
Your website shows the mic is on backorder. When will it be available? Thanks
It should be very soon! I'd place a backorder anyway and get your name on the list
@@Nickdefdis Just did
will these work with the Ops core amp Arms? you said it would work on a helmet
If you have arms that work with Howard leights, the real question is whether there will be enough room to mount the mic on the headphones
Is the p2 the only waterproof one
Yes
@@Nickdefdis are the other ones just water resistant ig or if they get damp at all they toast?
Can this mic be bought in the UK?
Yep!
Any idea how well they hold up after a range day in the rain?
I took a lot of media photos in the snow. With the waterproof ptt I didn't have any issues
Any system that depends on a CCR Baofeng or similar radio is at the low end of dependability as well as price.
Pretty much WHY it’s called “budget”..?!
Howdy yall wondering if yall can help me and a buddy out. When using this product everything seems to be good besides to the receiving radio, the transmission comes in low for the mic boom and cam barely be heard is there any tips or is this normal?
