You know, these little random facts are why I find human dedication to be one of the most beautiful things. These facts would have taken one person’s lifetime to figure out, only for it to be just another fact. Whenever I watch documentaries I always pay attention to the smallest amounts of information and just go “Wow, that must and taken a lifetime to figure out.”. I remember once I was watching a documentary about the Mariana Trench and they found a Snailfish in the Trench, which they are an Arctic fish. So somebody went ahead and found a current from the Mariana Trench to the Arctic and mapped it out; if that dedication to mapping out an entire water current isn't beautiful I don't know what is. Must have taken most of their life.
i didn't even realize, that's really fucking beautiful. i've never really thought about how much effort it really takes to contribute to our collective knowledge.

The great thing about these kind of videos is my tired ass dosent 100% process what he’s telling me and I forget everything so I can go back to this for several nights in a row without getting bored
