Hey guys, My name is Matt and I was the Muffin Man of this episode. I had a great time talking to these guys and their producer was extremely patient with my schedule. To answer a few questions, I am trying to learn how to bake, although I’m not very good at it. My wife and I had such a kick about the Muffin Man scenario that were ritually getting together to bake in the kitchen to keep the fun going. Also, I’ve been a fan of the podcast since fake Jake incident, so calling Gareth as Garrett was mortifying for me😂. I had a groomsman named Garret and I think I was just nervous in the call. Any of you out there can be a Muffin Man to somebody. You would be very surprised how happy and grateful people are when they get free pastries, just don’t blow your budget over it. Cheers, Matt, the OG Muffin Man
Hi everyone, I’m Sarah with the chainsaw loving neighbor! Just wanted to chime in and say how amazing it was getting to talk to the great Nick (Jake), the stunning security guard (Gareth), and the drunk uncle legend himself (Bobby). They’re genuinely the sweetest and so hilarious while still giving great advice.
Hey! Important information that no one seemed to know: sawdust is a known human carcinogen. Additionally, having sawdust cover your lawn and house is a fire hazard; it can also become excessively slippery when wet. If I were you, I might look into legal action if you can’t remedy this issue (either for exposing you to a Group 1 carcinogen or I would imagine this is not up to code or something).
@@BeatlesMusicRocklol that’s what I was thinking! Like it’s actually something that the city probably regulates!! THey really needed to recommend a tent with a vent to collect sawdust!! It’s like a legit issue not just a nuisance 😂
I still haven't finished the call but I saw your comment and I was hoping they did the same thing😂 what a bummer that they didn't suggest that. Would be some huge brownie (or muffin 😂) points with his wife too. The house would smell great and she'd get the freshest muffins
12:47 Matt said that hard T with the "Garrett" slip and Jake's eyes lock to Gareth like only a best friend would when they know their friend is about to get pissed.
You guys are all so sweet. I dont think this is the first time youve sponsored a caller , and kevins wifes willingness to help by embroidering a Muffin Man jacket (i think she did that boxers robe too ) is really so heartwarming. No other podcasts give this much to their fans in terms of time and energy and effort. ❤
Those are black walnut logs. What the guy was doing is using a chainsaw mill to slab them which takes a very long time to cut. Black walnut is very expensive and those size slabs can sell for usually around 100-400$ a piece.
Matt, partner with a bakery (or a few bakerys... or do you have a friend that works at Starbucks? ) and get the day olds. Starbucks has to throw out perfectly good pastries of they're marked as "expired". And tons of bakeries will donate their days olds.
I am surprised that no one mentioned sawdust being a known human carcinogen (a Group 1 carcinogen at that!). That definitely changes the call in terms of being a safety hazard instead of just a nuisance!
A good quality chainsaw for cutting slabs is going to run $400+ easily, even for a stihl clone from China, but he really needs to go in for a bandsaw mill.
I agree that everyone should pitch in for the muffins. Every week I’m amazed at people’s behavior and how they can easily lie and get themselves into unnecessary situations. Awesome job navigating this crazy world guys.
One Aussie fan here. Definitely tonnes of great Australian comedians. If you could do a Collab with Hamish and Andy you've got like the entire Australian comedy podcasts market.
Might have brought up already but why not offer to get his chain saw sharpened for that one callers problem. I grew up with chain saw’s and know how important that is. You need to periodically sharpen it. Yes Bobby is great and real.
Real question: when your notebooks become full, can/will you sell them, or auction them off for charity or something?...bc I would pay, so much, to see and have, just one, of those 🫣😬🖤
Esp in the suburbs there are specific times when power tools are allowed to be ran due to noise, garenteed 7 to 9pm is not the time. Make it anonymous/communal note saying based on this ordinance power tools can be ran during this time, sawdust, specific area, space for this, blah blah, we would like you to move it to the back yard.
Mondays are tough, people dread them. The Sunday scariest are real. The muffin man has given his coworkers the *sweetest* gift: something to look forward to on Mondays. If there are no muffins, Monday will be a let down. Ruined. There will bad moods. Passive aggression. Whispers. He will have let them down. And ruined their joy. You can’t put a price on that. But in this economy, he must learn how to bake. Maybe the muffin man’s wife can help.
Jake has become so in tune to making sure they nail down the right issue before pitching and also asking things like “do you have the ability to send this video before we make it?” They’ve clearly learned a lot about how to make the show better/ensure they are really helping. 🫶

You’re the best, Muffin Matt!
I wouldn’t stress about it, I’m like 99% sure Gary’s real name IS Garrett. Good luck with the baking! (Also, you did great on the show!)
This comment is so wholesome and your call was SO much fun! I love how the muffins have snowballed in your life in the best way!
I’m going out to Scottsdale this week for vacation.. drop me the address and I’ll swing by the office on Monday for a muffin 😂
Woah.. Now we DO know The Muffin Man. 🎶

im the chainsawman, im pissed!

Bobby is my favorite guest so far! His reaction to finding out the kind of “problems” he would be helping with was adorable!! 😂😊
The way he reacted after hearing about the neighbor who loves chainsaws made me laugh 😂 “*sigh* this is the BEST show”
Surprised no one pitched that Matt learn how to make his own muffins lol that'd be a lot cheaper, and you'd learn a useful skill!
I still haven't finished the call but I saw your comment and I was hoping they did the same thing😂 what a bummer that they didn't suggest that. Would be some huge brownie (or muffin 😂) points with his wife too. The house would smell great and she'd get the freshest muffins
It would also help phase out the muffin man if the muffins he makes are really bad 😂😂
Home baker here, sadly, it's not cheaper, butter alone was killing me.
@@jonnyincomox gahhhh Big Butter keeping prices high
Also, time is a more precious commodity, f' that noise.

It really is so unique!!
@@CM-pf1xc then they talked about buying that gecko thing for little Timmy , it's so endearing.
Gareth is a ZESTY boy today! His cat must have woken him up a little early this morning

22 year old suburb girl just blown away by wood work 😅
This might be my favorite call yet. Laughed out loud multiple times. Props to Garrett for his great input. He should be on the show more often.
I hope Bobby knows and feels how much we absolutely LOVE him. Perfect guest for this! He's the best
Muffin man is 100% my favorite call ever and I’m not sure anything is close
PLEASE have Bobby on more!
This is the number one podcast in America!
Appreciate these guys so much making their own path rather than trying to be therapists
Really needed to laugh this morning 🌞
Matt, partner with a bakery (or a few bakerys... or do you have a friend that works at Starbucks? ) and get the day olds. Starbucks has to throw out perfectly good pastries of they're marked as "expired". And tons of bakeries will donate their days olds.
Or yes make your own muffins, it'll be about $5 instead of $50
Bringing cookies with saw dust on the plate was the best idea.
You guys are great🤗going above and beyond to help the callers🥰
This was my favorite episode yet! Loved the reconnection.❤
33:50 is my favorite moment of the podcast ever so far LMAOOO
I am surprised that no one mentioned sawdust being a known human carcinogen (a Group 1 carcinogen at that!). That definitely changes the call in terms of being a safety hazard instead of just a nuisance!
Totally completely.
I love when the follow up call is in the episode ❣️🤗
Next episode: Bagel Boy and Coffee Cathy
A good quality chainsaw for cutting slabs is going to run $400+ easily, even for a stihl clone from China, but he really needs to go in for a bandsaw mill.
Period
He's amazing. Love the post episode talk with him. It's great hearing this wild perspective of life that not many of us get to experience.
Being comfortable being called the muffin man.... and wearing costumes, crowns, and songs.... are two very different things haha.
Wifw was like, where are my muffins at? 😂😂😂
Bob’s log logic. 10/10
Having the follow up in the same episode is great!
I love this podcast! I listen and laugh everyday! Ya'll should have Rhett and Link on as guests they would kill
Hey its Dead and Company and its really great Jake! You gotta go to the Sphere!!!
Love this episode
Everyone also calls me that
The chainsaw blade is probably on backwards 😂
I agree that everyone should pitch in for the muffins.
Every week I’m amazed at people’s behavior and how they can easily lie and get themselves into unnecessary situations. Awesome job navigating this crazy world guys.
“We’re here to help America’s number one podcast” which podcast are you helping?

You are Europe's no1 podcast!

He’s the Muffin MANager!
Everybody's got a Lorne impression.
0:49 you should get Toni lodge!!! She’s hilarious!! And they have a big following
Easiest option: co-workers take turn bringing in muffins. Carry the weight new co-workers.
I kind of think his coworkers are just hazing him. It's a pretty good bit to act so grateful and see how long he buys muffins.
Real question: when your notebooks become full, can/will you sell them, or auction them off for charity or something?...bc I would pay, so much, to see and have, just one, of those 🫣😬🖤
33:08 my thoughts exactly
woah Garrett, nice to meet you

You guys should front the guest interview then do calls.
The one who lives on Drury lane ????
How did everyone miss the opportunity to rename him "muffin Matt"?!
The muffin man needs to start baking those muffins Sunday night yo he’s in too deep it’s the only way if he stops now they’ll turn on him

For the algo!
Matt's wife wants a buttered Muffin
As Matt’s wife, all I will say is 😉
More guests from DuckTales, less guests from New Girl. Kthanx 😜
Just one of a *baker's dozen
Sawdust guy needs a workshop studio away from his house.
CORN MUFFINS????? IS BOBBY AMISH??????
