A truly ancient clan design and I really like the idea that some of these are still floating around clan toumans giving as good as it got from the Klondike days.
Great points here. Battletech excels in making its game feel like a real place. In reality, a military has dozens if not hundreds of different vehicles for purposes other than fighting. Supoort vehicles and units can outnumber straight combats units two to one, and not every combat unit is meant for the frontline. Battletech has stats for civilian aircraft, coolant trucks, logging trucks, regular cars, covert ops observation and more. Battletech also gives each unit a history, a reason to exist, advantages and flaws and even a bit of local politics. It is never about making the best "OP" mech, but what can be introduced to make the universe feel a bit more real. Something I find so refreshing compared to nearly every other franchise out there. Battletech isn't afraid to suck.
Hard agree with you about not having everything being the absolute best. Reminded of the old Discovery Wings episode on the PBY Catalina. Their summary at the end was "It wasn't fast, and it wasn't agile. It just *worked*."
How do you even use a spotter mech within the bounds of zellbrigen? Sarna describes ice hellion as “more opportunistic” in their approach to ZB, but I still struggle with understanding the clans’ approach to artillery.

I enjoyed your personal analysis of the perks of this mech and how it fits in to the overall strategy. Well balanced. Great job!
It looks like a cut down clan version of the Assassin
Thanks for the story ...
The sheer speed would make this hard to hit, but I’m more likely to fill the speedy TAG spotter role with a hovercraft.

Probably good that it is weakly armed, makes the pilot focus on what they should be doing, scouting and marking targets for long range fire.
It looks like its saying, "Ummmm....did you see which way that waskelly wabbit went?"
He took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
