If you enjoyed the video drop a classic lifter!
For sure it's gotta be Vardanyan
Aramnau, Djuraev, Yang zhe snatch
Big love my Irish boys
Apti!!
adam maligov....relatively unknown but i love his style...btw eoin looked yacked lol
Apti is another amazing lifter to watch. so mobile, so active in the feet which i dont understand how he does that. also thoracic spine and shoulder mobility of the gods.
14:00 Szymon was the main commentator for Euros on Polish TV and on a few occasions refered to Giorgi Asanidze as 'close friend'. Makes sense that they trained together.
Snatch on training with straps: 192,5kg
C&J: 235
Front Squat: 240kg
Back Squat: 260kgx3
Bench press: 228 (222,5 in competition)
I'm polish and i have followed his weightlifting career and mma career recently and i'll tell you - his static power is ridiculous (rip and tear type of strength). He has the punching power to knock out any heavy weight. Too bad he's probably heavily juiced so we will not see him fight outside of poland probably.
Do you have links to some of his mma videos?
@@zombi3lif3 ruclips.net/video/XnJ45OWM0SA/видео.html&ab_channel=Sportywalkizhumorkiem
@@zombi3lif3 they're all over RUclips. He had a fight with Mariusz Pudzanowski (I probably butchered his name). They're both Polish strength monsters. Mariusz was the World's Strongest Man years ago.
You mean his dynamic power
@@thebeyonder4113 he has tremendous dynamic power thats true but i meant his static power where opponents arent able to take him down or get out of his hold. its basically really hard to get him out of positions.
Kolecki is one of my favourite weightlifters of all time. He's probably the main reason I became a weightlifter. Thanks for this video
Kolecki told Strossen in a Milomagazine article back in 99 that the polish team was using the bulrian style of training,13 sessions per week, this style close to competitions, the rest of the year soviet style.
They should do a video on Milko Tolkola 🇫🇮
Milko just squatted a lot and fainted a lot 😂 loved his old pig squat videos though
Kolecki front squat: Ironmind 1999 Gonzo in Greece
Kaki back squat: Ironmind 1993 Heavy Metal in Melbourne
I have the DVDs (weightlifting porn)
I also have the DVD with the footage you're using here of Kolecki and Giorgi (Ironmind 2001 Creating Champions). It was filmed at the Polish national sports institution camp thingy place.
Is it possible to upload those videos? Szymon, and Giorgi are my great friends💪 greetings from Poland
I went through a Kolecki rabbit hole a few months back, some of the finest lifting footage on RUclips for sure
He snatched 182.5 at the 2000
olympics
Kolecki's got a half decent MMA record of 10-1, although it's mostly journeymen and lower tier talent, his fight against Pudzianowski was a big deal understandably and is worth the watch just to see the muscles 👀
A dream match up a strongman vs a weightlifter
LETS GOO, was waiting for this
Great video, you guys should do a review of vintage lifting aesthetics. Maybe even make some vintage styled merch?
The pride of Poland. Apparently he would wear a black leather biker jacket to competitions. Hardcore stuff lol
3:37 Jesus Eoin, put that thing away...
Love this! Thanks for doing it!! My coach is a former polish lifter and my quote to him is I want to snatch like kolecki 😂🙌🏻
Szymon under rated! Coach and I agree that the lad knows how to use his body well for leverages
That's true his max front and c&j was the same - 240kg. Backsquat was 260x3
His best training lifts was 190 or 195 snatch and 240 C&J (as a light 105 or fairly overweight 94). After Sydney he got a lot of injuries and in 2001-2003 he competed as light 105 with hope bigger bodyweight will led to fewer injuries.
He said in one of interviews he was lifting senior WR clean and jerk 3 times per week. PER WEEK as junior. But as previously written nad coaching lead him to many back and knee injuries. After couple years with help of great coach Zygmunt Smalcerz he managed to be on great shape for beijing 2008.
It's crazy to think what he could accomplished with smarter training in his young years.
Watching this before heading for training. Motivation like no other!
Love these videos, so cool to see
Excellent video, thanks
Checked his MMA record. He’s 10-1 so far with 9 knockout wins
Thank you!!!!!
You guys convinced me to high bar squat
Kolecki is 10-1 in MMA 9 KO / TKO 1 Decision and 1 Decision loss
man like Kolecki 🙌
That latter Iron Mind video of Kolecki training with Asanidze is from the Creating Champions DVD. This was a training hall in Poland a month prior to worlds. I believe both were being coached by Grikurovi at the time. This is my favorite Iron Mind video as its actual training rather than the training hall lifts from a big event. Also awesome because both Kolecki and Asanidze bench in this video - I think I remember Kolecki hit 180 for a double and Asanidze hit 160 for a triple.
Don’t know about classic guys, but can you do a video on David Fischer! Moved from Austria to Bulgaria and changed his name to David Fischerov 😂 And he’s got a fascinating technique (which his sister has too - weird)
powerful man
Shmiao Shmui
I had a VHS tape of Szymon training sessions in a gym in early 2000s after his injury. He was at about 80 percent recovering. He was doing a lot of serts of bak squats on that vid
My favourite polish lifter is arkadiusz michalski for some reason i think u know him and u know why i like him 🤔
AKA "Catalyst videos' poster boy".
His overhead strength is insane.
I can’t believe he was squatting LOWBAR!
@Sika Strength, the Asadnize/Kolecki DVD is from 2001,called Creating Champions, one month before 2001 worlds
The coach was Ivan Grikurovi, also Kakhi'sand Asadnize's coach..
Shemon Koletzky - That's better way to pronounce it. Simon also works.
Have you done Andrei Aramnau?
10:50 great thanks
Seems as both were squatting heavier the bar kept getting lower and lower for each lifter
England football shirt 10:14 🤔🤔🤔
Szymon beat another juicy lad in KSW, World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski. (At heavyweight, no less. Szymon is a light heavyweight.) He also has only one loss across 11 pro fights. Quite talented as a regional level fighter, at least based on the data. I've yet to watch any of his fights to get a more personal assesment.
An incredible lifter but never less than second place on the world stage from 1961 to 1971 makes W B the greatest.
Kołecki did 235kg CJ in Polish national competition.
David Rigert would be really cool
🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
Is Kolecki pronounced koleki or koletski?
classic lifter
Stefan Botev
As a Pole I heard stories He was wiping platform before every session.
closer to "shim on" "Ko lets key" in pronunciation
Do Aramnau!
Australian super heavy weight, dean Lukin 1984 Olympic Champion, Not much on him.
Liao Hui was a freak of nature
Also
Can you confirm that Sikastan is the leading nation in gene doping?
Do you think Kolecki’s heavily juiced sweat might rub off onto his opponent’s while grappling and could possibly get into their blood stream?
dla algorytmu
Algo comment
Kolecki's fight record is as follows:
he beat Mariusz Pudzianowski!!!
Kolecki, I think in Polish you say, 'co wet ski'
SIMPLE : SORRY, HANDS DOWN GREATEST POLISH WEIGHTLIFTER IS VALDIMAR BOZIANOWSKI :
1960 GOLD
1964 GOLD
1968 SILVER
AT LEAST 6, 7 WORLD CHAMPION.
NOT ONLY IS KOLECKI NOT EVEN CLOSE, BUT BOZHIANOWSKI GREATEST 67.5 - 69 KILOGRAM WEIGHTCLASS EVER. AS A COMPARISON, (SAME WEIGHT CLASS ), HAS SLIGHTLY BETTER
STATS THAN THE INCREDIBLE BULGARIAN, YANKO RUSEV.
I think you pronounce him "Co-latch-ky"
Actually IT is: co-wh (like half of "what")-a-cky. Letter ł is pronouced like first part of Words like: what, where.
@@maciejlorenc2500 Thanks for the Info. I guess thats one of the letters that are hard to pronounce right if you are not a native speaker.
@@frankbialahs7755 to us, Poles Kolecki is surname like mr spike-ski (Direct translation), however Kołecki is more like mr wheel-ski. That's only didfeence of one letter that other countries dont use. Ski is used to describe sex, -ski stands for males and -ska stands for females. For instance tennis player Caroline Woźniacki doesnt make sense, however her parents moved out of Poland and danish official didnt changed it. Frank tgeres nithing to be ashamed. Its realy respectful you tried to speak his surname correctly
Siodme Poty
You could have at least studied in 2 minutes how to pronounce his name when preparing this solid material. It's Shemon Kawletzky, sort of. Not Colecky or whatever you call him. It's nothing difficult.
For the hord... i mean algo
before you record material about someone, you should learn the correct spelling of the character's name, because it does not sound right and is not fair
Its pronounced Kowetski 😅
After butchering kolecki's name so many times I don't think you have any right to complain about people not pronouncing Irish names right lmao 😭
You could at least plop his name into google translate to pronounce it properly *smh*
Kolecki had several knee surgeries after the 2008 Olympics
