    It's funny listening to this as it's clear that Colin doesn't know anything about football. Thinking Sweden getting in to the WC is revolutionary, that's some bs. They missed the last two tournaments, but they've won three medals all time.

The German team knows how to play Sweden and they know what to do.Argentinia wasnt very strong in their Qualifikationen especially without Messi. Croatia has a very talented Team and plays always with passion. Iceland players Play together for a long time (under 21...) and know their tactic. I dont know about Nigeria but i assume they will be good aswell.

    Colin, if you don't make the world cup, that means that your team is in a state of turmoil. It's not the same as in the NBA or NFL or MLB where if you keep tanking, you get better players. At the end of the day, the countries that are better at a certain sport are the ones that spend more resources and CARE MORE about the sport. Americans just don't care about soccer. Admit it, and that's a problem.

  • @hernannavarrete5403

    I believe the group of death is C, France, Peru, Denmark and Australia... Is obvious that the clear favorite in this group is France; but I can see Peru and Denmark giving them a fight (these two teams never lost during 2017 matches), and Australia has experience in world cups and is the only team to move from their actual region to have a better challenge and they still are able to qualify, helping them develop as a team. For all these reason, that´s why I think this is the 'Group of Death'
    Now Group H Alexis Lalas might be right, they all can beat everyone; however if Poland and Colombia go through on first round, you could see them beating everybody else, they have elite players on their rosters which makes them really good teams.

      How is a group with only two good teams a group of death? Both teams will come out of it. Chile, Holland & Spain was a group of death in 2014. Or England, Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica. This time there isn't a real group of death.

    NO NO NO. Our group (I'm German) should be a easy walkthrough. Sweden won't make it to the round of 16. They played horrible against Italy and only won, because Italy was even worse. There isn't a real group of death this time. Hardest group would be D. Argentina obviously is a favourite and Croatia is very underrated. Nigeria and Island are very though to beat.

    • @AlexOjideagu2

    • @JM-ip7hf
      @JM-ip7hf 6 лет назад

      Silvio Dante Agree. Nigeria are always tough and Croatia has a different coach and the players are reaching a maturity age right for a World Cup. I will say this though, if this generation doesn’t make it far then it will be a while before we mention them again as a threat. Rakitic, Modric, Mandzukic will be past their prime by the next World Cup. Same thing with Iceland, they have a good team but Argentina can still win the group if they finally stop depending on Messi and Sampaoli can get them to play them like Chile. If he is able to do that then Argentina can easily make it to the final stages.

      Silvio Dante thank you! I completely agree with you. Sweden isn’t even good, zlatan kinda carried them. Argentina has the hardest group. Iceland showed up all of a sudden, they were able to contain a Ronaldo led portugual. Croatia always shows up for big events. And Nigeria is like that one kid who isn’t that good, but somehow makes lucky 3’s in a basketball game.

      I think their off prime a little but that be great but after lost in Brazil I frankly don't think Argentina will ever win a cup... Messi miss the PK did he even score? He is great when he has loaded teams in Europe but folds under international pressure I been rooting for them since 02 and seen them underwhelm consistently. Portugal is a one man show mostly but that Euro run I think they have a great shot being with Germany group is a blessing cause they won't face them elimination unless it's the Finals.
      They should introduce a salary cap it's like watching the probowl team play Browns some games like vs top teams entertaining but it's ridiculous how talent rich some teams are.

    The correct answer was Group F. Just as in WC 2002 Sweden won that group of death. Sweden is most often playing in that group because they are right in the middle between the very strong teams and the rest. So they are the balance that tips the group over from having 2 strong teams to 3 strong teams in the same group. England wish they were in that group every time.

    I'm a big fan of lalas he is a true lover of soccer. But he so wrong about juan Carlos Osorio. He has never succeeded any where. His rotations don't work in international and even worse in Mexico soccer where they have maybe 2 good players maybe one and everyone else is ok. He also plays players out of position. I think this is a little recruitment so juan will go to the usa.

    • @JM-ip7hf
      @JM-ip7hf 6 лет назад +1

      Christopher Sainz exactly. He has only won titles with Atlético Nacional in Colombia. He overthinks his tactics and thinks he is playing American football with his constant player rotations and playing players out of position. Mexicans can’t wait to ship him out fast enough. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make it out of the group stage. A real shame because Mexico has a ton of talent especially up front. They are like the the North American version of Belgium.

      Ryan B I heard this today on ESPNFC, but Morocco didn't let in a goal during qualification while having attacking throughs such as Ivory Coast and Gabon in their group. So defensively they're solid. Benatia captains them and he starts a lot of games at CB for Juventus, and this young kid Ashraf whose been playing a lot for Real Madrid at RB since Carvajal has been out.

      Ok impressive they got some Euro talent and didn't know Benatia is from Morocco but still they faced Ivory Coast and Gabon. I know Ivory Coast is ok and Gabon I think has Aymunenang but that is still not compared to the teams in Europe.

    i love when people act like they know way more about football just because they aren’t american. Alexi lalas knows more about the game than anyone in these comments ever will and most of the world ever will yet he is treated like he doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about purely because of the country he is from. Yes, the main hosts of these shows usually are not well versed in football, but that is not their selling point. they r american sports analysts. the US has brilliant football minds just like any other country, maybe not as many as the likes of European and South American powerhouses who have a much bigger culture and devotion around football. but to label a whole country ignorant of the sport is ridiculous

    This is a great show but the football talk is always hard to listen...It is so biased and naive. No the group of death is not Group F, beating Italy does not make Sweden a threat, Mexico & Korea are going to battle for the second spot as Germany walks the group with ease. If you have to pick a group of death it is Group D, Argentina is really struggling and all of the teams can cause them troubles. And the USA should not be happy if they were in Panama's place, they would still be clearly the third and almost fourth best team even if England & Belgium have not shown much in recent tournaments.

  • @vindre7

    Group of Death is: Group D
    - Argentina struggle to qualify until last game again Ecuador, recently they lost to Nigeria 2 - 4 and this time they draw again on a same group D
    - Croatia got so many great players whom played in Spain and England, they are very talent and always give big team a lot of problem
    - Iceland qualified from a tough group and at EURO 2016 they beats England in the round of 16, they are strong and physical with a spirit of Viking so do not underestimate them
    - Nigeria is the strongest team of Africa, they beats Argentina a few time from national team to youth team and Olympic team also, last month on friendly game they beats Argentina 4 - 2 so i think they might have a chance and give other three teams a lot of trouble, the weak link about Nigeria is they are inconsistant so they need to improve on that
    Group F is not a group of Death? Why?
    Germany beats Mexico at last year conference cup 4 -1 and went on to won it, World Cup history Germany beats Mexico three time before also, Germany beats Sweden 2 - 0 at World Cup 2006 in the round of 16, Euro 2016 qualify Germany beats Sweden again 5 -3, Sweden qualified after beats Italy only 1 goal in two games, Germany beats S - Korea 3 - 2 at World Cup 1994, then again World Cup 2002 in S - Korea 1 - 0 semifinal (Michael Ballack scored the only goal), Germany will be a winner of this group then second place will between Sweden and Mexico

    It’s a shame that almost 30 years after the US’ highest finish in ‘94 that Alexi is relevant. Sure, he had a great career in the MLS but his best overseas venture was in a team that was in a relegation scrap in Italy. The three players that have clearly better CVs (Dempsey, Donovan, and Howard) as MLS and/or overseas players haven’t made themselves prominent enough in the organizational/developmental discussion even through they’re head and shoulders above anything Alexi has done at club level.

    How people look past group D is beyond me. Those are four highly competitive nations fighting for two spots. Though Messi’s Argentina are favorites, they are not miles ahead of Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria. Group F, on the other hand, appears more predictable: Germany will win the group, Mexico and Sweden will fight for second, and South Korea will finish bottom.
    I’d love to see South Korea advance, but if you’re a betting man you’d pick them to finish last. However, if Costa Rica proved anything last WC it’s that anything is possible (with the right tactics and work ethic).
