It is only a matter of time before we are pushed out of the Pacific, get use to it.
It is amazing that anyone could still consider the Chinese as backwards, in military technology. Today's China is the same China that has a respectable space program - they have successfully landed unmanned exploration craft on the Moon - that is not an achievement to thumb your nose at. Even if the Chinese Air Force could only manage a kill ratio of 2:3 in America's favor, that would be a significant setback to US air power in the region, and perhaps even a kill ratio of 1:2 in the US' favor would still allow China to deny regional airspace to the United States. As your guest Justin Bronk makes clear, the Chinese only need to achieve parity with the West to obtain their goals, not supremacy. Concerning the Chinese Air Force's previous adherence to tactical manuals, it reads a bit like the Royal Navy's adherence to the Fighting Instructions and the Line Ahead formation - but it appears China is not waiting for a Nelson to free them from "the book". Lastly, Western contempt of China's airpower seems to echo the contempt that the West - or at least America - had for Japanese pilots and aircraft, on the Eve of Pearl Harbor...
Not forgetting if China and the US did have a war there would be a good chance it would drag in Russia at some point. This would then involve NATO and Russia in Europe and from that point we are in potential Armageddon territory 😔
US actually outnumbers China in combat aircraft, though (by a wide margin). Also, the US Pacific fleet, by itself and without reinforcement from the rest of the Navy, already has more naval tonnage and more combat power than the entire Chinese navy. China can't afford to take heavy losses because they don't have the #'s. The old "quantity has a quality of its own" adage might have worked for China in the Korean War, but this won't work for them in a modern conflict.

You can say the same for America during WW2. The Sherman and the rest of the armoured vehicles were shhhhttt. Shermans couldn't even fight properly against Tigers or fully equipped Panzer IVs. The only effective Sherman in the European theatre was the Firefly. Yet they won because Shermans outnumbered the Tigers and Panzers and pretty much drowned them with numbers. And funny enough, the Russian T-34 is actually far better than the Shermans. Even with Navies, the Royal Navy was far better than the US Navy. As for the Airforce, the only great plane America had was the Mustang but the Mustang's history was complicated with it being a failure and pure ssshhhhhtttt but only became good when they tried experimenting and put a British engine in the hood. Realistically speaking, the planes the Navy had especially for it's carriers weren't that good. They were only slightly better than the Japanese Zeroes. Plus the fact that they already know the disadvantages of Zeroes, have made methods and tactics to combat them, the shhhttt load of planes they managed to produce and the fact that Japan had the dummbbeessttt set of leaders who didn't take advantage and maintain their superior Zeroes properly is what helped the Navy win. In fact, American AAs were what shot down most of the Imperial Japanese Navy's planes and ironically enough most of their AAs aren't theirs or weren't their inventions. Much of their AAs (like the Orleikon 20mm and the Bofors 40mm) are Swiss/Italian and Swedish respectively.
@@dickmelsonlupot7697 I think you are wrong about Tiger IV and Panzer IV tanks being superior to Sherman and that is was a swarm kinda like how Soviets get the bad wrap of “swarming” I have some points for the Sherman being better in terms of combat ability theoretically by the specs on Wikipedia I feel the Sherman has a bigger gun therefore more penetration It also has more mass specifically around 4 tons maybe more so theoretically heavier so slower/less fuel efficient but maybe more armor I can’t find kill ratios but I see that at least 7100 Sherman’s were destroyed on the western front maybe more but this is only UK/US death of tanks/crews combined yeah but like I highly doubt there were more than 400 tiger tanks, and that’s being kind, and it’s variants in the western front 44-45 pulling numbers out of my ass but I seriously believe most would have been annihilated from 41-44 German armor like a starving organism lacked nutrition/material for mass manipulation anywhere in the projectiles, in the energon juice, armor, literally nutrition, etc Of course yeah more than tanks but tldr TLDR How can panzer IV be better when it’s smaller in terms of penis/gun and mass/ass basically less penetration & less protection And the tiger tanks.. how many were even operational sounds like some myth or urban legend not dying I really don’t know but you make this claim of tiger tanks being superior to the Sherman in an actual tank battle I just don’t know
@@mkkk1058 There are different versions of the Panzer IV and we were to pit the earliest Panzer IVs with that snub nose gun with an early or mid war then yeah maybe the Sherman might have a chance. But for a mid-1943, 1944 or 1945 version of the Panzer IV like the Ausf.J, 10/BW or the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G (Germans hate names and love numbers so don't get confused since you're not the only one), then the Sherman even the M4A4 ones would either be brutally murdered or at least had a rough time going up against a Panzer Battalion. Plus the Shermans weren't armored that greatly. For the most part, their skin is only 12.7mm thick and around 177.8mm on it's thickest location (which is at the side but only when attacked on it's slanted angle). And the Sherman's guns aren't that powerful and lacked range. Even the doctrine and strategies for use of the Shermans highly advice them to use their speed to their advantage and not act like tank killers. The only theatre they were doing actual good on their own is the Pacific theatre since Japanese tanks were weak and underdeveloped since money was funneled more to the Navy. And sure, there weren't a lot of Tigers back then but even with their fewer numbers, the kills they rack up when they are there is visibly apparent (of course if they survive or not get attacked by fighters or bombers or if their Jew-made parts weren't failing). And in terms of quality for parts, America may have a slight advantage especially with the fact that many Panzer, Tiger and other stuff were basically Jew-made or POW-made (meaning slaves who may not be the best workers) especially during the mid to late stages of the war, then the German parts may end up failing or have problems but in terms on paper or even on actual combat, they actually do reign supreme than the Shermans. The only reason the Western allies stood a chance is because, like I said, due to their immense numbers and the aid of the Air Force especially the fighters and bombers who can exploit all tank's weakness which is the top armor. Plus tank destroyers like the M10 helped in the fight as well.

The only lavi tech used on J-10 was fly-by-wire system because the IAI once worked as a contractor in the J-10 program, and you call it copy? It even looks totally different especially from the top.

JF-17 is an interesting plane it can do any role well but lacks the range so you need two drop tanks and have to pick between air or ground attack. The next block has more weapons pylons I think which will improve the plane a lot and make it truly multi role. One thing I think it has going for it is how easy it is to learn and fly. I bought it in dcs flight sim and it’s very intuitive to learn vs something like A10 or F-16. It has really nice off the shelf western style glass cockpit, so it feels like you are flying a modern leer jet with weapons, so it’s way easier to learn fast compared to something like F-16. It has cool selection of modern anti ship and other good anti air and air to ground weapons. You could probably train people to fly these planes in 1/8th or 1/4 of time of other planes which seems like a under appreciated factor. In huge peer to peer war as we’ve seen previously pilots are often in short supply in previous wars. I imagine in a scenario something like ww2 where they are coming off the assembly line daily and you need them on the front fast, this ease of learning would be a good trait.
"Japanese Self-Defense Force fighters scramble 1,000 times each year. almost against Chinese fighters." Not China's fault. Japan's air defense identification zone cover almost the entire western pacific ocean or China's coast line.

@@E3kTheCat specifically the J-16. I thought it was just a ripoff SU-30 worse in every aspect especially the engines. I didn't know that it was only the engines that are inferior to it and that it is superior in every other aspect. Assuming the guy know what he is talking about. Same goes for the air to air missiles and smart weapons that are way better than what the Russians have. I seriously didn't know that and kinda dismissed the PLAAF as not a serious issue.
There is plenty of disagreement by others compared to opinions in this video how well designed Chinese aircraft are. The outward design are almost all based on foreign aircraft, with tweaks here and there which might provide an improvement but usually theoretical and unproven. The original Russian designs (and some might say at least one model is a ripoff of the American F-15) are proven and perform. With Stealth in particular, it's unlikely anyone is going to say the J-20 is anywhere close to the Su-57, which in turn is nowhere close to the F-22 and unlikely close to the F-35. It's possible that Chinese electronics might be equal to, maybe even superior to Russian versions in some cases. In particular, AESA is an important unknown. Beyond that, I have not heard that Chinese datalink, fly by wire and systems management and control are anywhere within 20 years of Western EU, much less American technologies.
@@tonysu8860 You are definetly out of time , One city of Shenzhen could produce 20% of electronics device around the world, larger than any counties .Chinese electronics production equals U.S+JP+KR. J16 design was totally different from SU30 , transmission, hydraulic, flight control, avionics, nothing same as SU 30. Composite materials rate much larger than S30, the weapon max load 12 tons, 50% more than SU 30. AESA radar is about 20 years ahead of SU 30. Airjets shape design would take much time of test in wind tunnels, even a slight change will take a year of testing . That's why China chose mature shape design of SU 30 .

Yeah, without Awacs and air tankers the USAF would be in big trouble. It is looking like the J-20 may have a range of around 2,000miles, so massive area denial, and the ability to approach in stealth to strike any targets within 2,000miles of a Chinese airfield is a massive defensive advantage.
@@1983jarc Yes absolutely, and it's why I think the fact it may not be perfectly stealthy or as stealthy as the F-22 is kind of a moot point. It is good enough to do the job, and good enough to strike on its terms. The fact it may lose stealth when turned away for instance, doesn't matter. If the J-20 is turned away from you, it most likely already fired weapons, weapons that also outrange American weapons, and is now cruising at speed and distance. A distance that also wouldn't be visible without awacs, which is now destroyed. So hypothetically if F-22 were even airborne and nearby, they would be in no place to intercept, and now would be left without awacs or refueling. I honestly don't know how you counter this approach, it is very smart.
@@-Zevin- The US navy is apparently talking about using smaller tanker drones to replace large tankers in highly contested airspace, not sure what they can do with AWACs though. Maybe some kind of networked drone constellation?
@@-Zevin- This really sounds like a smart strategy. Fundamentally, it's because the purpose of PLAAF and USAF is very different. Around the first island chain which is way closer to China, USAF'd better to control as much air space as possible to protect its heart - aircraft carriers, but China doesn't need to as it has land airports and land-based air defence system. PLAAF can even give up some air space control to USAF but focus on finding ways to destroy critical USA targets. I am thinking of China can deploy a few J20 groups to solely target at USAF's Awacs and air tankers, meanwhile a large numbers of cheaper J10, J11, J16 planes to grab a lot attention of F22, F35, F18 or even drain out USAF's missiles loaded for the first battle. Awacs and air tankers would then become as easy as training targets for J20. Then USAF... cannot image. Seems like the rest USAF fighters have to fight blindly by themselves. If USAF wants to keep their Awacs and air tankers safe, they need to be flying way far from the core area of the battle, which makes them not that useful then. So when there's no generation gap between PLAAF and USAF's technology, it seems very difficult for USAF to win or not lose big around the first island chain. Apparently, USA needs to make effort in largely increasing weapon quantities to be able to continue blocking China inside the first island chain. But it's also obvious the White House does not have this amount of military spending unless it decides to go on the crazy $$ printing without worrying about an unbearable economic consequence.

@A Fels I wouldn't mind him to do that for every well rated plane to do that.

I feel the Sherman has a bigger gun therefore more penetration
It also has more mass specifically around 4 tons maybe more so theoretically heavier so slower/less fuel efficient but maybe more armor
I can’t find kill ratios but I see that at least 7100 Sherman’s were destroyed on the western front maybe more but this is only UK/US death of tanks/crews combined
yeah but like I highly doubt there were more than 400 tiger tanks, and that’s being kind, and it’s variants in the western front 44-45 pulling numbers out of my ass but I seriously believe most would have been annihilated from 41-44
German armor like a starving organism lacked nutrition/material for mass manipulation anywhere in the projectiles, in the energon juice, armor, literally nutrition, etc
Of course yeah more than tanks but tldr
TLDR
How can panzer IV be better when it’s smaller in terms of penis/gun and mass/ass basically less penetration & less protection
And the tiger tanks.. how many were even operational sounds like some myth or urban legend not dying I really don’t know but you make this claim of tiger tanks being superior to the Sherman in an actual tank battle I just don’t know
@@mkkk1058
There are different versions of the Panzer IV and we were to pit the earliest Panzer IVs with that snub nose gun with an early or mid war then yeah maybe the Sherman might have a chance.

The outward design are almost all based on foreign aircraft, with tweaks here and there which might provide an improvement but usually theoretical and unproven.
Excellent video idea. Very informative. Very professional. And the information is good and useful information. There is a lot of junk information floating around out there.
Yes, actually I enjoy this level of conversation.. Grateful
This is amazing content ,for sure do more of those videos with Justin!
This comment is to all of those who keep commenting "CHINA IS FIVE DECADES AFTER THE USA!!"
They have their own very impressive production lines. in-fact, a lot of America military equipment is produced by the Chinese because labour costs.
Really doubtful that US mili gear are produced in China, though US may use Chinese metal and basic parts.
@@jensensean7118 Nah, some of the components for the Apache's optical system is produced by a sister company to Xiaomi.
@@jensensean7118 I was quite a big deal when some large amount of US’s battle uniform and boots are built in China and labeled as Made in US. Although the quality was unknown since DOJ didn’t give any, it’s still shocking how this happened. Also a lot of ballistic plate used in US military are built in China under sister company based in US, and Holosun, a big supplier of optics for US army is a Chinese-hold company. So Chinese built military gear in US Army, yes but just not in classified area
@@jensensean7118 A good chunk of body armour is produced using Chinese made material.
