With the overwhelmingly positive feedback and a few prompts to more lost Doctor Who lost media. I'll be working on a part two to this in the coming months! Of course any suggestions or anything you would like me to discuss and look into please let me know!

most of the doctor who flash games have been archived by the flashpoint project and most of the games are still playable through a flash emluator named ruffle

    • @SeriousJoe
      @SeriousJoe  Год назад +4

Some of them are still lost or no longer work even with emulators. I know when researching for this that Dalek no longer worked as well as a couple of games like the Wire and Ghost hunter had trouble getting past the main loading page.

    • @illmissu3
      @illmissu3 Год назад +4

yeah there are some flash games from 1999 that are still (and forever) lost and with dalek needing server side assets that are available through flashpoint and games like the wire are somewhat playable they have constant frame drops due to not being able to retrieve info from the old websites that no longer exist and (for me atleast) ghost hunter works fine @@SeriousJoe

@@illmissu3It's a shame really. Even with the wayback machine it's hard to locate them all. Surprised the Doctor Who website hasn't kept the games up to date. I suppose though they would have to make the games from the ground up in a different coding program.

@@SeriousJoe don’t forget about doctor who worlds in time that online MMO is most likely lost forever because of server side assets that (unlike dalek) don’t exist combine that with its over 40 swf files of which only 2 have been found there’s no chance of dr who worlds in time being found

@@illmissu3 That's very true! I might work on a part two of lost who media sometime.

I remember an episode of Crackerjack, which must have been shown shortly after Patrick Troughton took over the role. It had Peter Glaze dressed as William Hartnell and it might have been Leslie Crowther dressed as Patrick Troughton. Both shouted at each other: " I am the Doctor!"

Those flash games as well as the Sarah Jane flash games were my childhood I especially love the Sarah Jane Adventures game in which you use the sonic lipstick to draw lines to get you from one place to another

The trial of davros stageplay is lost, there's part of another version of trial of davros online but no the original and I don't think in full

Not sure how many survive of interviews or shorts of doctor who actors in America on public TV stations. I've seen some from the mid 80's pop up on RUclips here and there, but there could be more. Even some actors would also show up on "pledge drives" when there would be marathons or Doctor Who Night to raise funds for local stations.

a lot of the doctor who flash games have been archived luckily, however some (like Attack Of The Graske and The Last Dalek) no longer work, Trailer Makers assets are easy to access as they were all archived a while ago, as for Comic Maker…I don’t really know, I haven’t checked.

What a great and interesting video!
I had no idea there was a trailer for "The Web Of Fear" - let alone that it aired at the end of "The Enemy Of The World" to hype up the upcoming serial. This was rarely done in the Classic tenure, wasn't it? The only other occasion that comes to mind is the trailer for "The Ambassadors Of Death", which was broadcast as a stand-alone piece on BBC One adverstising the upcoming serial. Thankfully, this one is available for viewing.
As for additional pieces of lost media, I'm surprised you didn't mention the *"Disney Time" links from 1973 featuring Jon Pertwee* . I believe we have everything from Tom Baker's 1975 hosting gig, which for the longest time I thought was the only Who-related one of this programme (Pertwee is also reported to have been partially/fully in-character as the Doctor). According to the TARDIS Wiki, one of his segments included Three and Herbie not getting along, leading to comparisons with Bessie, which sounds so funny.
While Pertwee's "This Is Your Life" episode is definitely a noteworthy one to be missing, I wouldn't really consider it as 'Doctor Who media' like the others, given it's more about an actor's life and career which happens to include some Who-related bits (+ Katy Manning's appearance). A similar logic goes for his missing episode from the long-running BBC Radio 4 programme "Desert Island Discs". Fun fact: not only this show has had a fair share of Doctor Who stars over its long tenure, including David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Billie Piper, but (parts?) of a 1965 episode featuring William Hartnell managed to be recovered in 2015.

      Thank you!
Yeah the web of fear trailer is an interesting one as like you said it was hardly ever done in the classic era of the show. It's such a shame the original was lost as Patrick Troughton Doctor Who media outside his episodes is few and far between.
I wasn't aware Jon Pertwee did links for "Disney Time" I'll have to add that to the list and do some more research into it for a part two someday! It does sound really funny!
I know Jon's "This is your life" wasn't directly Who related but it still contained some elements of the show which would have been interesting to see. Since it was all about Jon Pertwee and his career up until him playing the Doctor it would have been interesting to witness more of what he was like around that time.
That's really interesting about the BBC four radio show! I'll have to read up more about that. Didn't know it contained so many Who stars over the years!

The Ice Warriors also had a specially recorded trailer, as did Season 17.
Pertwee's Disney Time from 28 May 1973, recorded in Stockholm (where Disney on Parade was touring) isn't lost. It still resides in the BBC Archive. Pertwee doesn't present as the Doctor. The closest he comes to breaking that is when he says, "In my travels around the world and other planets, I've come across all sorts of strange creatures..."

The photo at 2:24 is not from the Adelphi Theatre production in 1974, it is from it's from a 1984 amateur NZ production.

I remember TARDIS tennis on the BBC website (think it was created for the 40th anniversary) when you selected a historical character and faced off against another. The only Doctor Who inclusion was that they arrived for the game via TARDIS (complete with sound effects).

I thought the sarah jane adventures specials were lost but 3 under different names/titles are available on youtube, and the other 2 are stuck on the bbc website for now
One that actually kind of was lost was "the few doctors" a parody from the 90s which has recently been uploaded to youtube, the uploader also upload other obscure movies/media that features the doctor who actors and also shakedown plus more

The original radio trailer for an unearthly child was lost but the script still remained, so I asked black gloves studios if they could recreate it, so I could test out animating something doctor who related
They got shaun hughes to record the lines hartnell originally said, I did two versions with hartnell and one where it was the first doctor sort of in character like the web of fear trailer or ambassadors of death trailer
Audio and audio editing by black glove studios and william hartnell/first doctor performed by shaun hughes
    ruclips.net/video/ExaSYjTxwxA/видео.htmlsi=toR8TVB1NjUcCQGu
Shaun is also in hudson medias new audio story and the misshapen planet by black glove studios, an unmade first doctor script/story featuring the monk
Black glove studios also made the unmade story the final adventure, with roger delgados final fight against the third doctor, and is working on yellow fever and how to cure it plus an animation collab of the lost season 23, and possibly some sarah jane adventures stuff like the second half of series 5 and the brigadier added to the wedding of sarah jane smith
Another fan also made fan novelisations on another site of the unmade three series 5 sarah jane adventures stories

Thank you for this! I've been looking for more information about this trailer for my part two video and wasn't too sure if it was just a rumour or not so left it a bit ambitious.
I'll have to revise my script slightly to mention this recreation 😊
I remember seeing the final adventure a while ago. They do some really good stuff! I'll have to check out the latest stuff they've done 😊
