- In this Kingman Arizona road trip we start in Phoenix and show you some of the small towns on the way. Some of the small towns include, Wickenburg, Baghdad and Wikiup. Once we arrive in Kingman we show you around the downtown area. Then we head over to the Hualapai Mountains. Its always good to get out there and explore around Arizona as much as you can. Since the state of Arizona is so large there are many areas of the state to examine and discover. Much more to Arizona than Phoenix and Tucson. Some of my favorites are Flagstaff, Prescott and ofcourse Sedona and the Grand Canyon.
Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

I lived in Kingman, for 8 years. Love the area. The housing market was totally reasonable pre-Covid. A house worth 60k is now 200k.
If someone moves to the area, please please, research open range and what it entails. Nothing makes life more miserable than someone uneducated about it and then they constantly complain. Also, don't vote for the same thing you're leaving your state for. Lol
We just got back…looking at land to build on for retirement. Main concern is some of the dirt roads seemed better for 4 wheeling. How do people get building material down those roads? Or should we stick to more compact dirt roads? I hubby thinks he can hire ppl to help him build. Ugh… I could go on.
@@Its_the_Whole_Everything some places will deliver depending on the area. If they don't, then you will have to truck it in.
I cant believe you finally did kingman!!!👍 💙 kingman want to move there!!!
I'm heading to Kingman by the end of this month (June 2024).
Kingman is high on my list of places to move to as my wife and I are splitting up after 23 years. While she wants to stay in CA, I want out, too much nonsense going on. Kingman reminds me a lot of the small town I grew up in before it got encroached upon. I like that Kingman is higher up in elevation which means it is a little cooler than Bullhead or Havasu, yet it is close enough to enjoy the river when it gets real hot. I think that is the main selling point for me, being central to other destinations. Also, I like that Amtrak has a station in the old downtown, for $50 - $80 bucks I can buy a seat and head back to CA and see my famiy or vis-versa, beats the drive. I have a buddy that lives in Albuquerque and taking Amtrak it would be an easy ride to visit him as well. Thanks for posting this video.
I'm heading to Kingman by the end of this month (June 2024). I'm also divorced after a 21-year marriage. I'm coming in from Austin, TX.
Thank you Jeff. I have been waiting for this for quite a while. Ha ha. I plan on retiring in a year or two and have been watching the Kingman real estate for about two years now. Thank you and God bless everyone here! Smitty in Vegas.
California developers have been eying Kingman for quite some time now and are planning on several masterplan communities and thousands of new people moving in. FYI
@@libturdcrusher1776 ah ohhh, bad news (love the name btw)
@valerierogers9609 yep unfortunately it's an ongoing issue. Thanks! Glad you like the name lol
Water is still a problem in the area! Kingman is going high crime and far right extremist pretty fast. @@libturdcrusher1776
Kingman was one of those gas stops we made as I and others were going to Cali from Texas on I-40. This last summer I had a trip to Phoenix and we got to go see the Grand Canyon (My first time and happy I finally did because I was born in Mesa and people all the time would harass me about not seeing it yet and being born in the state XD), went to Sedona as well as slide rock. Sadly wasn’t able to hike or anything because of the heat but sometime on my own I need to get out during when the weather is much cooler and hike more. I do also plan on sometime in the future living in the state after I finish my degree in Chemistry if I can find something out there with my degree and field. I haven’t really seen much of the state I was really born in and I really want to change that. I love to explore and just admire how wonderful nature is.
Thank you for another great video about Arizona. My last visit to Arizona was in 2018 beeing on vacation from Sweden. So when i see your videos i want to come back even more.
Nice video. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I love Kingman! Glad it growing and that they're fixing and revamping their downtown! can't wait!
I can’t wait to get back there
thank you. that was great.
We did a day trip to Kingman a couple of years ago to visit the wildlife rescue center outside of town.
Yes! Keeper's of the Wild. Great place
Kingman is a very nice town, and the cool thing is just head south and your in Laughlin Nevada! Head west 99 miles you can be in Vegas! It’s not my favorite place to go in Az the housing prices are definitely cheaper there! They have a beautiful old courthouse yea guy’s the historic part is definitely the best place to visit! True story I was on my way back from Washington state been up driving my F-150 for 24 hours straight! and all I wanted to get back to mesa so anyways I know the manager at the motel 6 the one that’s on the south side because kingman has too motel 6 s Thanks Jeff I’m looking forward to this!
Is it Close to nothing AZ?
@@raggar101 it’s roughly a too hour drive to flagstaff there’s definitely more things cracking in flagstaff but to answer your question kingman is mostly desert 🌵 mostly old women so not to much action

I used to live in Kingman w hwen I was around 12 yrs old. That was about 57 years ago. It was a wonderful place for a kid to live in then.
You make me wanna go to Arizona ❤ very special videos, thank you sooo much 🥰 many greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Don't do it. Stay in Germany.
@@danieledaccardi3648 why?
Breathtaking Scenery!
I just purchased land here that I can camp on good starting off to the Grand Canyon vegas etc
Thank you for a Great Video. We live in Golden Valley but do shopping in Kingman or Bullhead City. I appreciate you did such a great job on the video. Younger adults have a harder time finding their place here, not a lot of them to do out here. However it is a wonderful place long-term once you're ready to live in a more rural area. Lots of off grid living areas. The sunsets are by far the most beautiful. Thank you again. Can't wait to see your next video.
Got to give the Mohave County Sheriff's office credit for doing a better job identifying the murder victims! Seems like they've hooked up with a good lab for DNA testing. Now if they could just get a handle on the vandalism problems. It has gotten better though and not nearly as bad as Kingman for crime.
@@lisam4503I need to read some police reports
Thought it was pretty low crime?
Any meth heads roaming around there?
Trying to do an off grid set up in Mohave county
Seems lots of RUclipsrs are off griding in Mohave county now
Like it’s a hot spot
Lots of Meth heads and crime. Something like 89% of cities are safer than Kingman. Lot of violent crimes and theft. They had a budget meeting not that long ago and the Sheriff mentions it. Lot of hype about this area and a lot of militia types and extremist also. Ever heard of Tim McVey? This area played a part in radicalizing him. @@anybodyoutthere3208
This was a fun video, i enjoyed hearing about the small towns along the way.
Yes , would love to see mines in Arizona. 😊❤
Nice video. Thank you for sharing it with us.. Yes, Morenci !.
I’d love to move back there❤
I absolutely love living in Kingman!
Looking forward to part two. It will be interesting to see if you can make Bullhead City interesting. We weren’t impressed with it.
thanks for the great video tour! i always look forward to any of your new video's,,i just love the state of Arizona..👍
Would like to see video on Bullhead and compared to Kingman. Your videos are always great.🙏👍🥂
Love this format of videos. Good job, Jeff!
Wonderful video . I just move from Michigan . This video gave me good ideas where to travel to in Arizona
You need to do a video on Yucca, AZ., Topock AZ. and Meteroite Ave off the 40. Thanks

Kingman is also famous as the home of Andy Devine, a character actor near and dear to the hearts of us oldsters.😊❤❤❤❤
Good info! Thank you!
I totally agree with Wickenburg’s potential to be an important town in the future. There is already an approved project to widen SH 93 from Nevada to this town, in preparation for the always-under-study I-11 to the southern border. I hope AZ gets its ducks in line, because international trade with Mexico is a must for US security. I guess my children will see that corridor at its fullest, one day…
We were in Kingman one night and could not find a hotel room, everything was booked up, but we found a lovely room at the Hualapai reservation! Just in case others have the same problem.
Yes, Morenci !
Pretty topography, total truck stop town. Tons of fast food with no shopping (not even a JCP) at all.
Did the worlds biggest mosque 🕌 ever get built there
Kingman definitely is one big truck stop😅
My home town!
Thank you for your videos and all of the information
Definitely want to see a tour of the old copper mining towns in AZ. I can name like 2, would be nicer to know where they are in my state.
Name the two and I can probably tell you where they are. You could look them up on maps as well I use to work at cypress copper mine which was the old Duval mine. It was next to the Pima mine they are down in the green valley area.
Go to Clifton Morenci. Biggest mine in AZ.
Kingman is a schithole of a down full of racists and bigots. Watch the video, Building a Mosque in Kingman. The residents even admit what they are in the video.
Awesome video. Thanks
This is funny. I live in Tucson and have had 3 rattler in my back yard 2 gilamonsters in my yard. In the area behind my house I've had untold amount of coyotes and for a while we had herds of javalina getting in to our trash cans like 10 to 12 at a time. Its like wild kingdom out here. I live just out side of Tucson with a block of desert behind my house. You don't want all that wild life in your yard move to new york and you can have rats, criminals along with others trudging through your yard if you have a yard. Although that's new york city I hear the state is pretty nice away from the disease of that city. But if you like the rugged west Arizona is pretty nice just real hot in the summers. Arizona is so diverse you can live north and deal with snow a lot or down south and a lot of desert. You can get real mellow climate north of Phoenix but South of show low or flagstaff. Just don't come here with the stupidity you had in California. You screwed up that state don't screw up Arizona.
Moved out of Tucson a year ago
Sounds like I lived possibly near you
We were in the Tucson sanctuary/ Tucson Estates area
Our yard backed up to an open space strip that had lots and lots of the wildlife you spoke of
We were off Kinney road
I will say I miss it so much
Can’t believe what has happened to rising house prices in just one year.
Even mobile homes are very pricey
Well enjoy Tucson
I’m thinking about Kingman area now
Great video me and my future wife enjoy your videos, will retire there soon
Be interested in seeing Bullhead City and Oatman. I am retired and looking for an affordable place to live
Live on a golf course in Kingman in a development of 1800 homes all about 1/4 acre. There are 2 golf courses in town. When you get away from the I-40 it becomes a sprawling city of 32k. Much more than in the video. Just sayin.
I love the tri-state area, especially kingman!
When I was truck driving I used to stop there, its an armpit lol but each to their own.
It was an armpit but now it identifies as a polished turd!
its changed drastically. their modeling their downtown after Prescott ad bend Oregon, and doing other projects. I expect it to to be the new it girl, and it'll be sad to be unaffordable
Its already gotten unaffordable! They are starting to really go after the low-income. Hit them hard and run them out! They have a huge new development planned for WhiteHills called Entrata. They want to turn the area into a playground for the wealthy.

We drove back from Williams Az after taking the train to the Grand Canyon so we had a very big day and then drove to Kingman, we were exhausted, pulled our stuff to the room, we had left our doors open and trunk open all night, nothing was stolen, this was about years ago.
Yes good 👍 and your team is great you good God and the rest is great
Bagdad does have a decent gym and indoor swimming. Was free to the public
My dad worked there at that Honeywell for 13 years iI use to live in Kingman for a period back in 2001 when I was a teenager I remember seeing 40 acre parcels of land for $40k what a deal.. ohh and there was a UFO crash that happened there back in 1953...
Yep its growing here. Just this past 6 months the city added 2 more recreational marijuana dispensary. Great medical dictors.
Thinking!
Can’t wait to visit the mosque here
Goodyear Estrella Mountains with the Coyotes howling at night always freak me out.
Don't worry about the coyotes, they're much more afraid of you. But if you have a small pet, don't leave it alone outside or Wiley may snatch it.😮
Kingman is my birth place and primary hometown. Thanks for sharing this very scenic video of Kingman and surrounding areas. I've also lived in Flagstaff for over 6 years. I've seen the majority of Arizona, with the exception of the southern part like Yuma and Tucson areas. I actually live in Florida and I've been here for over 30 years now. I also have some videos on my channel (besides electronic music) featuring Kingman with some of it's history and events over the years.
I lived in Kingman from 2001 to 2007. In my experience it was very depressing living there as someone in their late teens to early 20s. Not much to do there, most of the others in my age range were either on drugs, teen pregnancies, or on probation.
I lived there in 1998. It was little town then
Yes do a video on Morenci! My daddy lived there and worked at the mine before my mama and us!
Luchia's, just a bit North of Wikieup, is outstanding food. It's a very neat place.
Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy it. I do have a question, I have a nice piece of undeveloped land in the Willcox area. Question I have do you ever see that place coming up or staying small.
i like traveling on route 66 i will visit wickenburg.
Too too 🔥🔥🔥
Got a lot of retired friends living in Kingman. Haven’t heard any complaints yet. But, good luck getting your ball to the green. The wind there is a real bitch! 🤣🤣🤣
I love Kingman! It has a nice small town but not too small town feel. Love the history and I thinks it’s beautiful. As much as I’d like to live out there i still prefer Phoenix. Definitely looking for an investment property out there though.
Funny how you didn’t show any footage of Butler or Birdland. Or the dilapidated houses downtown or the empty houses down there on what people consider to be in the wrong side of the tracks.
😂 I believe the Arizona bureau of tourism owes you royalties... big time!
Does Arizona even have one of those?
The Mosque Project brought me here .😂
I live n kingman
I would appreciate to watch a video of Morenci, where my grand father was born.
Interesting.. Didn't realize K was growing so much. 200-400k isn't affordable. I know there's plenty much cheaper than that.
Not really anything decent. We lived there up until last year. We were looking to buy, but the mass exodus from Cali had hit and homes work maybe 60k were going for 180k+ . I have an example. Lol
It was a 1960s model trailer with an addition added in the 70s on 2 acres, just outside of town. It was in fair shape needed work, it's listed price was 180k. 😂 Absolutely no way it was worth it.
Kingman was a nice area pre-housing bust in 2007. Now it's turning greedy and hard far right extremist. I am sure you probably noticed the violent crime rates were going up from pre-covid. Now they are chasing away good paying jobs and politically more isolating themselves from the rest of Arizona and America. A lot of open contempt for hard working lower income people. Back pre-2007 if you were a working person, you could buy a place to live and live comfortably. Now it's impossible. I expect the home prices in Kingman to drop more than fifty thousand in the next couple years when people start realizing its an overpriced polished turd with an extremism problem, @@chikinmommy

These Cali transplants are mostly retirees or consultant/remote workers? Lots of expensive trucks and SUVs in the last five years.
I'm saving to move, the job market hasn't changed much in the last 35 years. I think the city council shoos away bigger businesses to keep their relatives in business. Witnessed this first hand years ago with Home Depot. One Walmart, lots of fast food, dollar stores and hotels. A nurse can make a decent living. This town had potential, but it's squandered by Good Ol Boys. It also has a history of being a sundown town that has lingering effects that I've had to live through as a kid.
@@Glenningway yeah we noticed in our time there that business opportunities weren't really a thing. They would talk about these stores wanting to come in, but "something" would happen and they didn't build.
@chikinmommy yes, you're right. If I see on my realtor app that it's listed for 50 - 187% over what they bought it for few years ago I just pass it by. Where's this house crash they're telling us is going to happen 🫤 ?
4:24 I would think that the gas would be cheaper in Az. compared to Ca. but they seems pretty close.
awesome video. what is the music in the beginning? Kingman looks like a good place to live but according to sperling the crime is high.
Rumor has it that Wickenburg is going to have an amusement park built near or in town privately. Prices of land and homes may go up. Again, a rumor.
You know Baghdad is remote is when it is further out than the city of Nothing.
NTS 8:00
Nothing but crazy snakes in kingman no place to do business.
Why don't you make a video about the huge area north of the Grand Canyon?
Joe Bonamassa music , awesome . I think I like wickenburg much better.
If you know some link for real estate companies please post it here too.
Being cheap means cheap people. Horrible place to live unless you’re spending your last days in a condemned trailer and don’t give a $hit. Lived there for 6 years only reason I go back is my mom with dementia lives there.
I didn't think it was that bad. They definitely lack activities and shopping, except for food. There are crap people everywhere.
It's going way downhill and a lot of tinfoil hat wearers and far right extremist moving in! It was always conservative but an independent and pioneering type way. Now they are downright Russia loving Maga commies! Politically Kingman and Mohave County are isolating themselves from the rest of Arizona and the United States! They are well on their way to creating another Tim McVey or worse. @@chikinmommy
What is up in superior az ?
The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is close to Superior and it's very nice. Plan your visit outside of the summer months though.
Kingman is a sundown town. I had to go there for work over the summer and boy the nasty looks I received 😫
Tell me about your dream Mosque?
Where’s the mosque
It's on Airway Ave. I was told that they couldn't get American doctors to work in Kingman, so they encouraged doctors from the Middle East to live there.
Bagdad looks similar to Iraq
HEY...I lived there for 26 years working for the county. Be aware that this town is NOT the place to work or raise a family. IF you want to work there, be very careful what you sign. If you sign an employment oath with the county then you have signed your life over to them. As a right to work state, you have NO REAL RIGHTS AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE COUNTY. THEY CAN FIRE YOU AT WILL WITHOUT A REASON OTHER THAN THEY NO LONGER REQUIRE YOUR SERVICES. They also hire retired military officers to work in management positions. If your smart, stay away from those companies. Stop, take a few pix, then leave.
What if I’m retired
Done working
Hello Kingman
Albeit all you said may be true in your experience, it is VERY possible for one to make a happy comfortable life and career here even working for the county..
Where’s the mosque? 😂
Please, NEVER stay at the Arcadia Lodge. Yikes!
Hey there is something wrong with the video, u sound drunk my man! 😂
Horse back riding if you want to kill your horse it is hot as fuck up there
What’s up? I am watching your video. Or do you want some other personal information? Not a great opening comment
Beautiful area with a lot of tin foil hat wearers, conspiracy theorist, Tim Mc Vey types, racist, drug and crime problems. It's tried to change its image, but it's always been a magnet for far-right extremism.
It's not all bad just be careful where you buy. While prices are down in Kingman, they are still way over inflated compared to the prices pre 2007 housing crash. I'd wait to buy in the area if you are interested. I expect the average house cost will drop more than fifty grand over the next couple of years. This is a boom-and-bust cycle area.
They are also chasing away good paying businesses. If you are younger or have kids that are going to be entering the workforce might not be the best place to relocate them to.
LOL 😂
YEAH RIGHT
We're leaving Havasu and going to Kingman on monday. I'm going to send you a video check it out.
