I live in Bullhead the crime is really not bad at all. Me and my family movie here from Howell Michigan a few years ago. Howell is a farming country between Detroit and Lansing Michigan and that area had way more crime. Anyway I love living in Bullhead Arizona it’s a small town with great views and plenty to do. Thanks for posting your video.
Live in Mohave Valley since 2003 from CA. Love the atmosphere, less stress than Phoenix area, and area is indeed growing. Oatman is easily accessible from I-95 and a fun place with western shows and the occasional real western wedding in the streets!! Right now the heat is average 115 but you do get used to it after a few years. Love this channel as am learning about the other areas of my adopted state. Planning road trips on some of the areas you've featured!
You keep saying "Lake Mead & Boulder Dam", but you were showing "Lake Mohave" which is created by the Davis Dam and south of the Boulder Dam by about 75 miles. You didn't show any of Northern Bullhead City (which is the newer section of the city), nor Katherine's Landing in the National Park. Good video, but a little out of date. You haven't been able to buy a house here for less than $450k in years, especially close to the river.
There are LOTS of nice homes for sale in the 200 - $400K range in BHC and Laughlin, as well as Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, and Needles. If you want a built-in pool, that will add about 50 - $100K to the cost, but pools require a lot of time and effort to maintain and may not be necessary with the Colorado River and Lake Mohave so close by.
In fairness to the creator of the vid..Lake Mohave is part of the Lake Mead national recreation area...So he isn't talking out of his ass...He's just generalizing and not being specific to the area by name.
My grandpa was the supervisor at the powerhouse or power plant and my grandma ran the phone company when it had a switch board. They lived on Front St., now Topeka. My grandparents along with my mom, auntie and uncle would take their model A or whatever it was to Oatman…. My grandma’s sister and her husband were miners in Oatman. They would work the claims and go back to Kingman. By the way, Lake Mead has come up a lot lately . You’re at Lake Mohave. I’ve been on Lake Mohave a lot, we had a boat. But you’re showing Lake Mohave.

GOOD PICS of the place- been going there since the 90's -The suburb of Laughlin is ver y modern above the casino blvd a few miles away. The modern Bullhead City is south of the old part you showed ( most of that has been torn down ) There is a new bridge being built to link Nevada and winters are very comfortable for Canadians like me to snowbird.
There is even a VA medical office in Laughlin. Not bad for a small town. The 2nd public bridge at the opposite end of Bullhead Parkway from the original bridge is now open as of yesterday.
Awesome review of this part of Arizona. I stayed in Laughlin once during college when the Flamingo Hotel opened. It must have changed names since then. Small town and it felt a bit isolated from the rest of the world for sure.
I haven’t been up in the lake mead area in a long time, the last time I was there was back in January 2016 and we canoed down the Colorado river starting from the Hoover Dam and ending at Willow Beach. Alongside the river, we would stop 2 times on two remote beaches and camped for a day. Hot springs were also along the river which was also pretty cool. I would highly recommend doing this during the milder months as it was a pretty fun trip during that time as it wasn’t too hot or too cold.
That was Lake Mojave down stream from Lake Mead. Great video, but there are hundreds of miles of off-road trails also out there that lead to some neat mines that people could enjoy in the winter time.
The lake shown is this video is Lake Mohave and the dam is Davis Dam. Both are downstream from Lake Mead and Hoover Dam about half way between Lake Mead and Lake Havasu. Lake Mohave is part of the "Lake Mead National Recreation Area" and is federally owned. You missed the "better side of town" up on the Bullhead Parkway which is where the higher priced homes and neighborhoods are.
Was transferred out here from the Cleveland, Ohio, airport, and liked it so much after I retired from the Bullhead-Laughlin International Airport I stayed. No snow !!!
Some good housing deals, which for me is a older mh on it's *own* lot. Looks like every spot along the river is stack packed full of housing, which developers will continue until💧is sucked dry.

We visited Oatman a couple of times. Fun and informative talking with the locals. Interesting to note that no one should feed the burros. The only food they should be given is the feed that is available in a couple of the shops. Their digestive systems can not process sugars. Feeding them apples, carrots etc will cause them to form tumors. 😢We were pointed out a few who had formed tumors on their necks because of this. They are a protected animal. Fines can be expensive. The burros come down out of the desert and are known to walk across the roads sometimes stopping in the middle of it. This past January someone hit one on Bullhead Parkway in the middle of the night. To me, If you have to live in the heat, Bullhead/Laughlin is the best area. The river is refreshing, water sports, fishing, gambling, night entertainment, four wheeling, prospecting…it’s all there. Old Bullhead is the #1 investment opportunity also, especially next to Community Park between 1st and 2nd streets. It’s already zoned commercial, and the jet ski businesses are looking to corner that area for there business near the brand new commercial boat dock. They keep buying more.
You were showing Lake Mohave not Lake Mead. The Hoover Dam separates Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. The Hoover Dam is at the far North end of Lake Mohave. FYI
Every year last week of April, the Laughlin River run this year will be 13 years that I’ve been coming to the rally. My favorite part is Oatman Arizona and the reason why it’s my favorite is because of the donkeys I live in Lemoore, California Central Valley and we stay at Davis Camp on the Arizona side we stay up on top where on the corner from the straight ahead from the little shack that you pay To camp $40.05 days not bad we can’t right on the corner where the two big palm trees are and then you walk down the hill that goes down to the river. We stayed down there one time and that was my first trip to the rally.
Hoover Dam was one of three projects that were built during the great depression of the 30's. The dam, The Empire State Building in New York and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Franscisco. All three came in under schedule and under budget. Likely the last three projects to proudly proclaim that record.
The Laughlin Bullhead area is a fun spot to go to, as there are good cheap vibes, and laughlin ranch is an exclusive master plan on the hill in Bullhead, gated and restaurants and homes from 350k to 2 million or more, and it's close to ca and vegas, but bullhead is very limited in services and all, and Laughlin is too. and it has gone up in my thoughts, way to high for even that area, 250-325 for a decent home in Laughlin ranch, a 3/2 1600 sf etc, but now 395 to 450k, not thx as its 112-118 for 3-4 months in the summer, winters are nice, but ya, so its got its bad and good like anywhere, but living there id prefer the Laughlin side still if nay side of the river, thanks

Yes, but some people say Bullhead is unofficially the biggest trailer park in the world. There are a ton of them in the Riviera part of town which is a little weird because most of the big fancy homes are up off of the parkway with most of the mobile homes down near the water. Most cities near waterways have their larger, more expensive homes on the water. Bullhead is kind of backwards. Lake Havasu City is kind of backwards as well. There's very little waterfront residences and most of the business and industrial property is closer to the water than the residential areas. I guess the planners' brains were cooked by the sun when they set up zoning.🥵
There were lots. Now they buy them, demo out, and build new houses or some nice modulars. Anything up for sale sells in days. Gentrification and californians have taken over.
@@berniecoates2597 BHC's initial growth was a low end vacation/retirement resort with small mobiles on individually owned small lots. Nuevo California is up on the hills.

Wow! I even noticed that there is a really large body of water called Mohave Lake near Laughlin/Bullhead City that seems like it is usually kept at full pool. Maybe I shouldn't mention it because it will get crowded with boats too.
The coolest place you will ever go. We are thinking of moving from Mexico. To here. It's much better much cheaper much safer. And did I say much cheaper. Yes cheaper.
