For all you warmed toned ladies who feel black honey is too cool - try tarte maracuja lip plump in honeysuckle! It’s got black honey vibes but with a touch of brown that works so well with my golden/warm light medium skin!
I swear black honey used to be a bit more brown back in the 90s. At least that’s how I remember it on me. It looks so red on me now. I’ll have to try honeysuckle

Black Honey looks more red than plum from what I remember. Blue toned reds are not great on me, and I need a little more brown toned colors.
I also have the Tarte Honeysuckle (thanks to Emily's recommendation from last holiday), and that's a great alternative. Thank you for the reminder. It definitely is more flattering on me, and I'm fair to light neutral.

I love when you blindly choose from your makeup collection & use the old faithfuls. I have definitely cut way back on shopping in general & makeup specifically. I’d be interested in your thoughts on the Summer Fridays lip balm set and the Laneige lip balm set. I know neither will probably offer great color payoff, but I’m curious! I recently picked up the Lawless gloss set and love it.
I enjoy the Laneige glowy balms way more than the Summer Fridays.
I got the black honey and pink honey set a couple years ago. Really enjoy both colors but on me, neither lasts very long.

Hi em! Loved this review. You pronounced "ube" correctly! If youre interested to know, its a purple yam native to the Philippines and has a sweet nutty flavor comparable to vanilla and pistachio :) I'ts often used in sweet desserts!

Hi Emily! I don't know if this will make sense but as the holiday gift releases roll in could you do something like a "Get the most bang out of your buck" video? As I was watching you demonstrate the Tower 28 balms I was thinking I could buy the set and put one balm in each stocking for my nieces, along with a hand lotion, spray, etc. I love buying gifts but have to with a small budget. Thanks so much!!
Yes please - I don't see myself affording any high end release this year but if you were able to narrow down a "bang for your buck" luxury release, it would be awesome to narrow down what is absolutely worth the splurge ❤

Thank you for the tower 28 recommendation. I haven’t tried them before but if their products worked on your skin when you were dealing with eczema, then I feel safe trying it. And I love the little set for 20 bucks! You can’t beat that.

Pink Honey is my favorite! I didn't know they still make it. It looks a bit different than I remember. I love the full sized slim metal tubes. I got the ELF one and took my black honey and compared the color next to each other on my lips. Exactly the same color! I don't like the formula quite as much, but it's such a great dupe. One day I'll have to try Tower 28 when I have some money.

I recently purchased a Laura Geller balm stick and I love it. Just enough color but it also feels wonderful.
I really appreciate this video! I used to have a lot more makeup (and spend more money on it) but now I want value. So holiday kits are great for me to try new brands and save a few $$! I also don’t wear as much/bold a makeup look anymore so those tower 24 lip products seem perfect for me! Thanks for the review!
Praying for those in the path of Hurricane Helene! My sister lives in Cape Coral, FL. They still have electricity, but a lot of others in CC are without power. High winds, lots of rain. This is a huge beast of a storm. I'm up here in Michigan praying for all of you in its path!

Black honey and pink honey are both great colors but unfortunately there is a formula issue, and in my experience and within the reviews on Ulta, some folks are experiencing extreme dryness after 1 day of wear. The colors are dupeable, so that's good at least.
They dry my lips out a tiny bit but they kinda wear well as far as color
I used to absolutely love Clinique and all their products . I feel like over the years other company have surpassed them and they haven’t really upped their quality. The black honey was my ride or die and I like the cover girl lip balm in the dark berry a lot better and looks the same. Just feels so much better on my lips.
Tip: new to me (but may be an old one) if you're someone who goes in with your lash curler after applying your first coat but end up losing lashes because they stick to the curler, try lightly powdering your curler....it works! You might have to comb through the lashes after, to separate them, but they will look like falsies 😊

I have the black honey from a Sephora set probably- I totally dislike the formula- super drying and not a fan of the color on me. Love the reviews of holiday sets, do more please!

Clinique Honeys: I looked at the ingredients. I truly believe these are formulated to morph w your pH/body heat, whatever it is. And, I truly believe Clinique doesn't advertise this on purpose. When I put on BH, yes, it changes. 😊
You’re probably on to something there. The color looked different here than older version and I was thinking they must have changed it. I personally liked the old, more brown undertone better though. This version is more red to my eye. Still pretty but not the same.
Emily, I always appreciate your holiday set reviews, especially the smaller sets. It helps me know which ones to snag to round out gifts for my nieces and daughters.

I bought one blush last year from Merit and love it. But during the holiday last year I purchased the LYS blush set they had ! I still love it but I kicked myself for not ordering the Merit. I got the email the other day and I purchased 😝❤️
Merit also has a holiday lip set on its website with limited edition shades. I’d love to see a review of that. Merit lippies are my fave but I’m still debating whether to pick up the holiday set.

Yay Emily I’m glad you’re trying holiday kits early so I can get an idea 💡 of which ones I want to try. I haven’t tried Tower 28 lipstick 💄 yet so this might be something I’m interested in but I really liked the Clinique lip balm.
I enjoy getting the gift packs that have lip products only. They are worth the price for me. I purchased one last year that had 25 different shades. I still have gone through all the shades.❤️❤️❤️
I wonder if that's what's wrong with my lips! Im having the same problem! Apart of my lip is super dry and lifts up. I end up peeling off a big chunk of skin. I'm always wearing something on my lips so they don't dry out. Its so frustrating. I might try the rower 28s!

I got this lip kit and excited to break them open. had the eczema issues on my lips for about 3 years and have flair ups at times. So frustrating. And I got the too faced cheek kit. I am glad you mentioned not trying to get everything we see out now. Trying to be happy with my stash. Thanks for sharing as always. ❤
