First time I seen him play with KISS, a string broke on his pink Jackson in the middle of his solo and he angrily flung it off stage. Best guitar solo I ever seen.

@@DougCanney1That's cool. I'm a bisexual male and I've always found Vinnie to be very sexually attractive, especially in 1986. He looked so cool back then and I still love his music (his first two albums), and of course, his guitar playing when he was with Kiss.

I actually saw Vinnie with Kiss, unlike a lot of people on youtube...but although I'm a huge Ace fan..he was a fantastic guitarist who influenced many players, without being super techni6like say Eddie Van Halen. Vinnie on the other hand played pop and rock before moving on to hard rock and metal. His style is a shredding style that came to it's for in the 1980's ..I saw him in 1983. Hes actually a great guitarist and could have been up there with Randy Rhoads ...Rhoads copied Schenker and Van Halen ( Eddie didn't like Rhoads style but said he was decent enough player). The problem Vinnie had was although he could play technical solos like Rhoads and Van Halen amongst other stuff, he tended to go a little overboard. You could argue this was the style at the time as other guitarists did the same. Yes I agree. He also was hard to get along with ( tell me of a guitarist who isn't?) All in all if he was in a band with more personal lyrics style and better singer than his Vinnie Vincent's Invasion band I think he would be talked about in a higher regard.
Wtf, awesome axe work. Reading some other comments made me reflect. Vinnie reminds me in a way of Peter Green, Syd Barrett and Danny Kirwin. Great talents who couldn't cope with pressure of their own talent. All major influences on my own guitar style, along with so many more.
I always loved his style of playing - it's super effortless and always on the edge of being a little bit to chaotic and over the top but it always stays just below that threshold and still sounds kickass somehow... if that makes any sense.
