It's an open secret that the best and most diverse cuisine in Africa is Ethiopian/Eritrean. It's highly likely the "Kebab" and Shwarma originated there, even though it's now associated with Arabic food.
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️ Somebody down here from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 loving this video. Born and raised in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, i grow up watching my mom preparing all those meals. My feveriot food is Misir wot, Doro Wot, Shiro( pea flour blended with lots of spices), Denche Alcha( from potatoes) and Gomen(Collard green). As all the gusts and the chefs said, Ethiopian foods are all about the choice of spice blend, slow cooking, the use of good inputs. If I can make it differently, I would not use tomatoes paste, the chilly powder heat is already became mild due to the complex spice blends and the onion simmering. Another excellent video!
That Gentlman saied during the opening, he grow up in Ethiopia that means he drive that distance not just for the food but to reunion with his childhood adventure.
It's quite well known the best food in Africa is Ethiopian / Eritrean. It's suggested the origins of what we call now "kebab" and "shwarma" is from there. Because the etymology of those words are Ethiopian in origin. Queen Nefertiti was Ethiopian by the way.
no she wasnt. next to nothing is known about her life prior to her marriage to akhenaten so there's no evidence she was ethiopian - ethiopia didn't even exist then. Also shawarma is an arabic rendering of a turkish word and the dish originated in the ottoman empire. Do you also happen to believe that the original inhabitants of Ireland were black ?
@@nakedfordinner Of course Ethiopia didn't exist as a country, and Gemany, Ireland and Britain didn't either. Are you some kind of historical moron? Have you seen "white" Ethiopians? I have. You need to bling/bring yourself up to speed with actual history as opposed to what you learned in 5th grade.
Never, ever heard of Dorowat cooking in 20 minutes. It takes us almost half a day just to cook and the preparation work of 5+ kgs of onion and cleaning the chicken multiple times also takes another half a day. It takes full day total for most of us but i guess you have to improvise when it is a business and adjust it a bit to the local palate to make it less spicey. I wonder if it tastes like real dorowat (though i doubt it). If it does, i am going to be so pissed that it takes so much of my energy and time every holiday 😂😂
