My father had one of these in 26” barrels. He shot his first turkey with it 45 years ago when I was 11 years old. He’s gone now, but that day is one of my fondest memories of hunting with my best friend, my dad. Miss you Daddy.
May he rest in peace! And I hope that you kept his shotgun as a family heirloom!

Dexter Morgan - Thank you Dexter. Sadly no, he sold it without my knowing a few years before his passing. How I regret not telling him how much it would mean to me to have it to pass to my son.
May the new owners of his shotgun keep it in great condition and make many new memories with it.
Lorenzo Carducci - Great thought. Thank you.

Hes supplied guns and shots for free! Why wouldnt he be a crack shot! I I have same gun i used woodcock hunting on tx pipelines! Try it!
Hello how are you doing today?
What the heck is his background? I'm an Iraq vet and I was the guns onboard, but I was Navy, I don't exactly know all the shit that the Army and Marines teach, although I did learn tactics, reloads and I was a lefty, so I have to teach right handed people how to do it backwards to me. That means I have to eat, sleep, shit and breathe marksmanship and tactics. That left handed thing makes a hell of a difference, and I can definitely explain why if anyone actually cares, but it's weird and I'm long winded.
@@prorandocopier7945 That's what I'm saying, I don't know where his skills came from is all. He's great either way though.
I just love the way he has a cowboy hat, belt of shells, and he laughs whenever he shoots the shotgun
*Life is good*
His delivery is so relaxed, wouldn't be surprised if he was a retired school teacher.....one sharp fella!!

I absolutely love double barrels! I mowed over 100 lawns to get my first one, still got it too.
Me too! I inherited two of my grandfathers antique double barrel shotguns. One of which belong to a park ranger, made it back to 1875. And the other one is a sought off double barrel shotgun. You got a love em antiques
Now _thats_ something I should be saving for. Unfortunately, I’m 13, so my dad, as a responsible gun owner who knows that there’s nowhere to go to shoot because quarantine, probably wouldn’t let me buy a gun, even if I could afford it.
I love them cause of DOOM

You can tell he loves to shoot and shotguns are very satisfying I have to admit. My personal favorite has to be the winchester 1300 defender or the good old benelli nova. Pump action for life💪
4 years later. Still watching the same video. Thanks for all the good work you do. Life IS good.
The camera you guys use impresses me every time I can see the projectile flying at the target, like on the 6:10 mark when you shoot the ram.
Absolutely amazing quality.
The guy has arms of steel too, no flinching and no sign of tiring either.
Boy, that brings back a memory. You will not forget the first time you pull both triggers on a double barrel shotgun.
Just hearing you say that makes me tense up. 😉
6:14 - 6:15 I swear I saw that slug mid air before it smacked the target
Holy shit, me too!😆🇦🇺
Walter Clough oh no doubt. With .45s 9mms, and projectiles at similar velocities, you can definitely see them moving on their way out easily if it’s 100yds and even closer.

Hickok says hello here to his followers here in Brazil. This Rossi is a Brazilian company thanks
12:00. Both barrels at once. Ouch!!
I once fired both barrels from the hip.
Recoil was so harsh that it broke my grip and the locking leaver ended up literally stabbing me in between my thumb and first finger.
SOO painful.
IF you are ever compelled to try both barrels (And I do recommend it because it is both fun and awesome) Make sure you fire it from the shoulder, and with a proper recoil pad installed, and start out with basic birdshot. ;)
I did it with the same shotgun. I used buckshot....I'd never do it with slugs.
And step into it..
He’s a big ol boy🤠💥💥
I wouldn’t do it as I think it would likely exert the metal to stresses beyond its limits damaging it and eventually causing the barrels to crack or blow. I can’t imagine they meant to be fired at once.
I'm so happy to see Hickok dressed up again. I used to love the outfits matching the guns of the video.

Need myself one of those as my porch gun. Then I need a good rocking chair.
Throw in a well stocked cooler and you'll be set :)
You're also forgetting a piece of wheat to chew on, a straw hat, and maybe a big glass bottle with XXX written on it.
I've got me the rocking chair and land, just need the house and coach gun. Sweet dreams!!
Me too, just need land, a house, porch first
I got the land, the house, the porch, the bottle of whiskey and that shotgun. That's how I spend my evenings waiting for a coyote to come by. Life is good.
I carried shotguns for years while hunting as well as professionally in law enforcement. Then, while serving as a Firearms Instructor for my agency at the academy i made a discovery that really changed how I handle recoil. I had been working on shooting hip level (actually underarm assault) when I discovered something that radically changed how I handled recoil. If I just held the shotgun tightly with both hands and fired a load of 00 Buckshot the trigger guard of the weapon would sometimes bruise the knuckle of my right hand and the muzzle would end up above the silhouette target. Then I happened to pull back with my right hand and forward with left hand (as though I was trying to pull the shotgun apart) and two things occurred. The shotgun barely moved with the muzzle still on target and the recoil seemed GREATLY reduced!! I was stunned. There were 24 professional firearms instructors on staff, and I had never had heard of this before. My left hand was absorbing quite a bit of the recoil. This method works well whether shooting hip level / underarm assault or from the shoulder. (Care must be taken NOT to pull the butt stock away from one’s shoulder though when shooting from the shoulder. It must be kept tightly pressed against the shoulder.)
Kent Williams thank you.....never thought of it.....thanks again

Hands down best firearms reviewer on RUclips as of 2022
Back in the early 60's we cleared thru Customs some of these for F. A. Bower in Jacksonville, Fl. I bought one brand new from him for $65. I tried hunting with it, but the barrels were poorly regulated or I just plain could not shoot. I sold it to a Customs agent for the same price. That thing kicked like a mule.
Hello how are you doing today?
Decades ago when my twins were small, one was right handed and the other let handed. I got them a pair of these. in 20 Ga. Oh yes, with the badaleros, cleaning kits, soft cases and sling kits. This was the perfect solution to twins who each want the same thing all the time. The 20 Ga was not as punishing on 12 year olds but still enough to demand respect. They still have them today and my grand kids seem to love shooting them. Best dollar value for guns I have ever spent !
Great story, love it.
I have the same gun. Lots of fun and a great home defense gun with slugs, for my wife.

I love a double barrel 12 ga. Great for home defense and even survival because it is reliable as heck and super easy to clean and maintain. It ain't goin' to let you down when your life depends on it. Firing two 12 ga. slugs or buck shot should get the attention/respect of any intruder, if he's still able to run away.

"i highly recommend shooting the barrels separately" That's a Hickok Hint
Although I have waaay too many guns, this is my bedside companion. Load it up with two rounds of double nought and forget it. No springs compressed. Grab it up 5 years later when you hear that noise at 02:00 outside the door. The double barrel has a distinct intimidation value. Try looking down both barrels and you will see. (yes, I have my 1911 in my back pocket for back up) :)

Well he is prob using rifles slugs. You can shoot those out of a smooth bore barrel. Not as accurate as regular slugs out of a designated rifled barrel but they are pretty popular

My father gave me that same gun 2 years ago on my birthday. It's such a fun gun. There's a gun I've been thinking about getting for a while now and to my surprise I haven't seen you do a review on it. Taurus raging bull in .44 magnum, I was considering the bull or maybe the raging hunter. Maybe a comparison video from hickock would help decide? I appreciate all the hard work. Life is good.
The Raging Hunter is a better deal; get it with a carrying case and the rubber grips with a strong rubber spine. It makes shooting it a dream. The barrel has pikatiny rail the whole length. I traded a Sig P220 Hunter for it. Have fun!! Be safe.

Hickok45 and John, I really enjoy your show. Pretentious, does not describe you guy's. Humble, does describe you both.
I do have a Stevens 311 with the genuinely fake wood, plastic, stocks and 30" barrel's. My Father purchased this shotgun in about 1943 from my Grandfathers hardware store in Shakopee, MN. My dad shot many pheasants in the 40's and 50's with this shotgun. I would never alter the physical condition of this gun so I badly need this coach gun.

"Gun smoke" Yeaaaahhhh
This guy has been shooting shotguns before.... Long before we were even born. Most of our parents weren't even born when this man was pumping slugs.
Well, my little Rossi coach came in today. Found it on Gun Broker and not having the tang safety appealed to me not to mention its in one of my all time favorite movies, Raising Arizona! I've shot some 3" slugs, 2 3/4 slugs , 00 and a bunch of #4 buck I had for coyotes...anyways, I finally got the itch to shot both barrels at once..you where 100% correct! Loaded with #4 buckshot and I learned my finger placement wasn't right. Needless to say, I'll be more careful next time lolol. Got a Galco butt stock shell holster for it too!. Now I just need to figure out how to get a sling on it. Don't like the kind that slip on and my gunsmith warns not to mess with the rib as it may not hold the weight of the gun...hmmmm
Last time I shot both barrels at once was when I was 10 years old, in 1963. Being a bit of a smart assed kid, I was hunting blue quail with my dad and uncle. My uncle brought along his antique 10ga. side by side. I had been mouthing off about how I could shoot a 10ga., having never shot one before. Well, he handed it to me, not telling me the trigger was messed up, and that when it was pulled, both barrels fired. I caught a covey and shot and it was a good thing he was standing behind me, because his gun would have hit the ground with me had he not caught it. I never asked to use any more of his guns.
“Some weapons are so iconic they don’t need a name. No maker, no model - all you need to make an impression is a twin twelve-gauge.
-Ahoy
My shoulder wouldn't be to handle this ..this man is true grit
I had a cimarron 1878 coach gun and it was very heavy unlike the originals. I swapped it for a Rossi in 20 gage and I am happy with it it's lighter and well made.
