Wow not cruised since 2011 looks like a lot of work! After checking prices and browsing Princess website,if one would pay attention to all theses details he talks about one would go crazy!
You'll find that there is a lot more to plan ahead of a cruise compared to 2011, that's not just for views. It's like going to Disney World back in 2011 compared to now. Back then you'd maybe make a dining reservation and go to a park. Now you need a computer degree to figure out the park reservations, ride reservations, dining reservations, parking etc..... Cruising is similar, lots of tech and lots to do in advance or you will be at a disadvantage onboard. That goes for Princess or any of the other brands right up into the Luxury brands.
We agree with all that you said, except for one thing. If you got a good travel agent. They can reserve the chefs table for you ahead of time. Our sun princess cruise is 7 months out and we it 10 months before our cruise. But you must pay for it as soon as you book it .
You are partially correct and this can be a good way to at least make sure they know about you in advance. Your agent has pre-purchased the Chef's table through the "Gifts and Services" option on the Travel Agent Portal. Really, you are gifting it to yourself if they are making you pay for it. But that's not a confirmed reservation, if for some reason they don't run a Chef's table, it would be credited back to you. When you get onboard, you'll still need to call the DINE line and confirm that they have you on the list, just to be safe. Agents can do this with the Ultimate Balcony Dinner / Breakfast and a whole host of other things. Agents currently have no access to dining reservations through our tools unless we sign in as you through the Cruise Personalizer and use the Web Version of the Princess App. This is something that Princess has pledged to change soon because agents like me would like to be able to offer that as an additional service to our clients. Thanks for watching! Andrew
If WiFi free for suite guests on Princess. I read the following on the Princess website. All Princess Cruise Suites come with a range of complimentary amenities, including 24-hour room service, spa-like services, in-room Wi-Fi and daily cleaning for a luxurious experience.
That might be a sneaky statement. Wi-Fi is technically in the room and you can connect to it to use the app and some other basic functions but INTERNET has a cost associated with it. Now if you are in a Sanctuary Collection suite onboard Sun or Star Princess, then it's included in your Princess Premier package. Hope that helps!
Most of the lines have jacked up their prices on everything,...and are now going to jack them up even more because people were still willing to pay. I assume they will continue to do this until people start to back off,....Fortunately, you can still get some cruises where things are included, we got drink and food packages included of NCL, Princes, and Celebrity for 2025,...Royal Caribbean ?????? nope, Drink package hasnt been under $81.99 PD PP since we booked back in February of 2024. We will NOT be purchasing at that price,...ads nearly $1,000.00 to our 6 night cruise. We have also found this year that Specialty dinning is a rip off, I can get a better steak at Applebees for less than what the ships charge in SD rooms,.....SD's also have EXTREMELY limited selections now. We only pick the best options in MDR then head to the Buffet. Variety is what we look for when eating. If we want a really good meal,...we eat on shore.
Not much to argue with here! You are completely correct, Carnival Corp has basically said exactly that, they will continue to see prices increase to see where that limit is and won't add more space (ships) until they see where that demand is. As a shareholder in Carnival, that's great but not so much as a passenger. Princess Plus is a good deal but I guarantee there is a price increase coming. RCL? Not only are their drink packages expensive, they are really expensive a-la-carte too. A couple of years ago, my family sailed Harmony of the Seas and immediately got onto a Carnival ship afterwards. I couldn't believe the difference in price. I just hope that Carnival Corp isn't planning on playing catchup with RCL. I do avoid the steakhouse personally, but for the channel, I'll go. I generally have no complaints with value for money when I go to Sabatini's. We also really enjoyed the Teppanyaki restaurant onboard Sun Princess. Enjoy your cruises, it sounds like you have a busy year!
Pretty sure you can pay $10 and have it shipped to you in advance but in my experience, I just pick it up when I get there, it doesn't take more than a minute and that's me having the package and the option to ship... I just don't bother.
They gave us the package in our original price, Junior Suite, 7 days, deck 8, Princess Plus Included $1,400.00 PP Jan.2025 (Now $2335.00) and Packages are extra. It all depends on when you book. We booked in Feb of 2024
I've cruised with Princess Cruises 30+ times...my last one was in Europe this summer..... maximization of profits is now the principal objective of Princess ....the pandemic has allowed it to charge you for almost everything including what use to be included in the cruise price in the past....very disappointing....I suppose ALL Cruise Lines have done the same....no more for me...Ball game over!!
I definitely agree on the maximization of profit statement. See the recent video I did here on 2025 Cruises and why they are so expensive (ruclips.net/video/4Q41S23wiog/видео.html) I'm curious though what you see Princess charging you for that used to be included in the cruise price? I haven't really noticed that with Princess. There are certainly more places to spend money which I always seem to do!

@@TidalHorizons Thanks it does help, and I think it must be a sneaky statement for sure then.

Since we didnt opt for one of their needless packages, they penalized us by requiring that we pick up the medallion at port

Maximizing profit is the goal of ALL companies!! That's how they stay in business. What keeps them honest is their competition!!
