Dale Friend is a peach! A down-to-earth guy with plenty of coin knowledge and a real asset to the coin collecting hobby! Always friendly and more than willing to share his knowledge and enthusiasm!
I completed a year set from 1807 to 1836 . Then started to find reverse die rotations for all Al Overton varities . Let's make Numismatics great again .
All really interesting coins and Dale certainly has a passion for that series and for collecting. I don't understand, though, why he gets a pedigree for his coins. Any multimillionaire could put the collection together.
Its hard to find any slabbed VF or XF Bust halves that dont have improperly cleaned or scratched on them. Im scared to but any unslabbed almost every coin dealer in my area is dishonest. I purchased some type coins from one dealer and 7 years later when I tried to resell to him out of 12 coins he graded 11 he offered me a full grade less than what I bought them for. I still love collecting coins but dishonest dealers have almost driven me away from a great hobby.
Hey Dale my wife and I found an 1818 capped bust was preserved in the ground to the highest standard I'm sure I been looking around and around and around for someone who has the same coin as me to get an idea how much it's worth but truth is that every one I see isn't close when it comes to the quality coin I have I mean it's almost flawless really if you would respond I'd gladly send u pics of it and maybe u could grade it or tell me how to get it graded by someone trustworthy
Send it to PCGS, for it to be very valuable it has to be not cleaned and if it was in the ground I’d imagine it’s probably a circulated coin maybe XF-au if you say it looks nice. PCGS will tell you everything you need to know if you send it in to them.
You mean you're not impressed by a rich guy who tells high-end coin dealers to locate expensive coins for him, and then said rich guy simply writes checks to pay for them and put them in his collection? I mean, think of all the effort he must've exerted to actually take out his pen and checkbook and write multiple checks! I don't know about you, but I'm in awe of the collecting chops it must take to do that.
You can buy AU bust halves for $450+. What is shown in the vid is worth thousands but if you go to enough shows/are patient you can find some affordable gems.

Franklin.Half.Addict yeah. I’ve never understood how simply being richer makes you a ‘better’ numismatist.
a passion for making another buck is the truth
You can register your collection as well through pcgs, then they are voted on.
He was kinda on the money with his foresight there! :-)

Environmental damage if a dug coin
I have a 1811 with hairline like a proof. Hav`t figured out how to post the photo though.
Getting irritated at all these videos focused on gazillion dollar coins and ignoring REAL collectors,

Just what type of money are we talkin about for one of those really nice coins?
I’d imagine those are anywhere from 10k up to hundreds of thousands.
I'd estimate his cheapest coin in the collection cost over $5,000
