Synesthesia (from the Greek roots syn, meaning "together," and aisthesis, or "perception") is a condition in which otherwise normal people experience the blending of senses. For example, a synesthete might see "3" as blue, "4" as yellow, "5" as red, or see certain colors when hearing musical tones.
Synesthesia is believed to be by some to be key to understanding metaphor, creativity, abstract thought, and other high-level brain functions, including the emergence of language itself ("booba" "kiki").

I have the same type! I see shapes and color for each instrument, chord, and note in my peripheral vision. C= Bright Yellow D- Purple E- Red F= Orange G= Green A= Deep blue B=Dark brown :)

Wow, this video really speaks to me.
I can sometimes "see" (or imagine) completely random colors and shapes whenever I hear a music note (red, green, blue, or yellow most of the time, usually flashing zigzag lines). It might not be synesthesia; I just seem to be able to "visualize" sounds easily, but I'm not sure if each note has a consistent shape or color in my mind.
I used to feel colors. Like everything i touched had a specific vivid color to it. That stopped when the doctors convinced me it wasn't normal when i was young, so i stopped noticing the colors. Now i cant feel them at all.

@KonohasGreenBeast i cant remember how i did it. If i touched something i would feel a color and an energy. Some things had dirty brown colors and left me with a horrible feeling like static buzzing in my head and whatever part of me that touched it.. Other had bright happy ones, left me feeling invincible.
My mother took me to the doctor when it was starting to effect my mood and concentration.
I'm not sure if this is synesthesia or everyone understands this. Maybe I got these color associations from somewhere but I can't remember. I feel I've always felt this way.
C major = orangy yellow
C minor = gold, dark yellow
D major = sky blue
D minor = sad, dark blue
E major = neon green
E minor = forest green
F major = tan/brown
F minor = dark, wood brown
G major = magenta
G minor = dark pink
A major = bright red
A minor = dark, maroon
B major = purple
B minor = dark dark purple/black
Heeey, your colors are really similar to the ones I get! Insanely similar. The only one that really differs for me is F and E major. I get a more tannish yellow color for E major instead, and for F major I get a standard green feel.

I'm synesthesic, and here are the colors I associate with every number.
1: light blue
2: yellow
3: pink
4: forest green
5: orange
6: red
7: orange
8: blue
9: purple
Since everyone is sharing the colors they see numbers as, here are mine:
1: Crystal Blue
2: Leaf Green
3: Normal Blue
4: Neon Purple
5: Cherry Red
6: Just a bit brighter than 2
7: Yellow with a hint of orange
8: Dark Blue (bit brighter than navy)
9: Gray
10: Cream Colored

@AKAOJ For me, every image has a sound associated with it. I tried composing music in my head using this method... it was interesting.
Mine like 5 is marineblue, 4 is yellow, 3 is Green, 2 is babyblue and 1 is White

6. darker, "burnt" orange
7. semi dark purple
8. darker than 2 blue, but not navy

@AKAOJ for some reason that's inspiring... you should seek to feel colors again. or at least tell us more in depth what such an experience was like.
I also have my own very prejudiced and strong beliefs of numbers having a color...lol. I wonder why it is that the colors of numbers are different for different people.

When I saw the video I saw flashes and waves following the sound, but i didn't see colors and taste colors, this is a type of synesthesia or no? answer me please.

i am a synesthette as well, but i can't watch this cuz all of your colors are wrong. very frustrating. i had to turn away and pause it almost immediately.
5 = blue not red,
4 is green I'll giv you that, but you have it as a neon green witch is off.
And 3! how the hell could you see 3 as anything but pink.
this is very offensive to me and i will not return to this page.
