  • Most students typically aim to just passing their checkrides and getting it over with. Imagine this, what if you impress your DPE instead? DPEs are usually well connected professionals that have been in the aviation industry for a long period of time. They may be the person you needed to propel yourself to the airlines.
    Join Liz Brassaw (Chief Flight Instructor) and Megan Lindholm (Assistant Chief Flight Instructor) as they discuss skills and scenarios that will get your DPE to furrow his eyebrows in awe.

    Disagree with going above and beyond in you’re oral test responses as that will just dig you into a deeper hole only respond to the question if the dpe wants more then they will ask

    Thanks so much for this, I have my PPL check-ride tomorrow and you touched on some things I haven't done or gone over in a while. So I know what I'll be looking over today. Great information and wish my CFI went over in depth like this with me to prepare.

    The Rudder is important. I do not just want to barely pass. I need to know it cold. It's about safety. I will be taking my friends or family. I have to trust my self first. I am a student pilot and I need more practice and want to have it nailed.

    I disagree with going above and beyond on check-ride. You can dig yourself some major holes that the DPE will exploit.

    Is a DPE different from your CFI during your time in their school? It's a completely different person?

    • @joeblowjohndoe206
      @joeblowjohndoe206 Год назад +1

      Yes. You have to hire the dpe yourself. Your instructor will help you with this, but the dpe will not be associated with your school in any way.

    What do you think about saying too much trying to impress your DPE getting you into trouble by saying too much vs just answering the questions you are asked? I have heard many people in videos say that trying to elaborate too much for the DPE. Do you think that’s a real thing?

      I 100% promise I won't be offering up too much information. That was a trick we always used during oral qualification boards on a ship. Ask an open ended question, and try to get the examinee to dig themselves into a hole.

    Tell you what if ol girl on the right was my DPE when I did my check ride I would have had to request a different one. She was gorgeous. Would have been far to distracting.
