Not as inspiring knowing he didn’t work he’s ass off for years to buy a watch, basically just another rich guy that has an expensive taste. If I asked my dad for $50 he’d hit me and take $50
FActs. Plus the lesson his family taught him by buying it but keeping it in their safe till he pays it off is valuable. Even if Ice Cubes dad aint rich, he could do that to a lessor extent with him and teack him a valuable lesson
Ice Cube that mentality of yours is probably why you’re not rich like him. Learn from the already successful and go through everything their going through, it includes the pain and struggles.
I own a Citizen, which I bought for only €83 (~$100). I bought it after a Seiko I owned (bought for €150) got stolen from a foolish mistake of mine (I was only 24). I love my Citizen so much, because I haven't paid a lot and it looks so much more expensive. I had tourists from France admiring it and saying that it should be quite expensive, other people mistaking it for a Rolex. In the end I understood that we give worth to the watch. A watch should just be of good quality and show precisely the time, everything else is optional.
What a beautifully produced video, and I just love how passionately he talks about his watches. I have no doubt that this man has worked very long and hard to be in the position he's in now. But there's just one thing that does bother me a bit. When you're given a IWC for your communion, you're apparently raised in a wealthy family already. It gives you a bit of a flying start. Many people have to work hard for years to even get to the point where he started off. Which again doesn't mean that he just got rich by doing nothing. Not at all. But having money in the first pace does make things easier.
I’m not a big watch guy but I can appreciate the story behind his watches.

So its all relative really, 30K is a nice wrist watch to someone and a decent home for someone else, so naturally, anyone who can splash that much on a wrist watch is rich in my eyes. 5-6 years worth of average wage where I come from, and even that average wage is hard to come by.
Lucas Milagre Tavares Ferreira I‘m Swiss and you have no idea what you‘re talking about.
I want to be Aurel when I grow up! Wonderful stories from a very inspirational gentleman!!
Not as inspiring knowing he didn’t work he’s ass off for years to buy a watch, basically just another rich guy that has an expensive taste. If I asked my dad for $50 he’d hit me and take $50
well, at least you know his name and visit him in prison, thats quite an achievement
He didnt choose the family he was born into, not his fault they were wealthy. Now go buy you a watch and hush.
Ice Cube did you even watch the video? He earned him self his second watch. A Patek Philippe. Poor person mentality
One of the best videos of MR PORTER.
Gets a iwc for first communion damn
I knew I recognized this guy! That was one heck of an auction.
Nice guy...
i have a 10$ chinese watch , it shows me time .
I cannot afford $10 watch. Can you tell me what time it is?
Watches are more than just time telling pieces for a lot of people.
doesnt your phone do that ?
Any watch can tell the time. Some watches tell a story...
@@DrinkWater713 it does but sometimes it is not charged
Great stories. Shows how watches can be reminders of special events. Emotional moments.
Sergiu Barac What are you even saying lmao ?
Sergiu Barac we give worth to everything it's all in our heads
Sergiu Barac, I owned a Timex watch that got many complements (it was $90 CDN), inexpensive things can also be beautiful.

Life is a challenge and a different journey for everyone. No one has a easier life we just all have different lessons.
the only watches i own are a Ferrari ultraleggero and a Timex... so sad
you own a watch?
Beautifull and inspiring... awesome person and incredible story teller, amazing video thanks for sharing it.
My first and only Rolex got robbed in Bangkok and that the end of my collection.
Mine in Prague lol a Pro Hunter Submariner 😫😫😫
Oof, it hurts to even hear it.
Without your negligence, watch can't rob.buy again and be watch full about your valubles.if you went to bkk for tourism, why wore real rolex ???
Sorry about that
Just bought my first high quality watch. A Omega Speedmaster Professional and I alread feel hooked with this scene. This video is great. Thank you!
Strong marketing
Love his last sentence .... explains our desire for vintage things.
I wish i was rich
