Low-smoke j79s have been in Phantoms since the late 70s/early 80s. For some reason the Germans did not convert theirs... don't know about the Iranian ones still flying.
Question for you people out there how come an aircraft like this the F4 Phantom 2 passed from air force to air force still plays a vital roll for the nations that still use this wonderful aircraft yet we retire aircraft like the jaguar the tornado the harrier I understand that airframes play a large part but surely when it comes to air forces that are struggling financially like the RAF surely to hang on to to aircraft would be more financially beneficial..

It is the only aircraft in Türkiye nicknamed “Baba” (Father) and respected in all air forces. I think this airplane deserves this respect with its majesty. Thank you for the beautiful shots you took
Magnificent. Those are very well maintained and cared for jets, complimented by superb aircrews. Loved the paint schemes, especially the black jet. Well done! Phantoms Phorever!

@@007supertime Yes, it's obvious they keep their equipment/airframes in top shape. That shows pride, resourcefulness, and ingenuity. That's interesting information about the composite factories. Very cool.
Thanks Fellow Turkish Air Force I'm 68 but my Best Years were working during peacetime on these F-4's J & S models but ours were ragged out from tours in Viet Nam and broked down immensely They are Beautiful to watch with your Paint Schemes
Awesome video! I was assigned to Incirlik AB, Turkey back in the mid '80s. It was great seeing their F-4s and F-100s. It's phabulous watching the F-4s again.

You are always welcome Elwyn. I live in Istanbul, F-4 home base is in Eskişehir, where my father is actually from. I would never thought that i could remember the phabulous moments in the Wales' mach loop with my UK resident brother by your filming here in my homeland:) Hope you enjoyed your time here. Thank you so much for great video.🤘
Nice to know that 46 years after I had my hands on one (MOS-6657 Radar Tech) these things are still tearing up the skies. I STILL remember the day I walked out the VMFA-122 (training squadron) hanger and saw one on the flight line. I couldn't believe my luck Thanks again, Elwyn R 🙂 I do believe the lads back at YOUR Mach Loop are going to have to up their game 😛 These guys are fearless!
I wrote the code for the HUDs and HUDWACs from C-17, F-16 and Eurofighter. F-4 was an aircraft I dreamed of flying as a kid in the 70s with my Dinky USN F-4. Thank you and the TAF for bringing such beautiful examples busting clouds among the Welsh valleys for one final time, what a fantastic and unforgettable show they put on knowing exactly where you and the cameras were placed. And thank you for sharing your incredible experiences with us that cannot get there in person.
Hi Elwyn, what an incredible video, mate!!.. was great to see the old Phantom still flying!...'and love that awesome paint scheme!👌 And some of those fast cliff passes are stunning!!!!..😱😱.brilliantly filmed as ever mate!!👍😁..cheers Paul 📸🍻
Wow - absolutely stunning! Real eye catching livery and performance. Next to F-86 Sabre, these are my favorite iconic fast jets.... so good to see them - must have been near Mach 9 sort of speed. Pilots were having blast! Was thinking, originally I seem to remember the F-4s used the J79 engines but these seemed to lack the very distinctive smoky trails - re-engined maybe. You did well considering the size of the crowd... Your still pics were epic. :)
That was very impressive, thank you Elwyn. That right turn immediately after the photographers looked a bit marginal, but I guess that they do it regularly 👍
Turkey seems to be A LOT more relaxed than the UK as far as how low and fast military jets can approach "crowds". I reckon a Typhoon pilot pulling the opening stunt in the Welsh Mach Loop would quickly find himself flying a desk somewhere in the Falklands.
Elwyn, looks like life is getting busy on the Mach Loop... I past there couple of weeks ago and the car park was full then. I was on my way to Dolgellau... and though this new happened back in the late 60's... always good to watch your videos... Thanks
Hi Elywn, You have done it again great video lovely to watch thank you for sharing them with me, Looking forward to the next video. Take care of yourself and stay safe.✈️✈️⭐️⭐️👍👌
South Korea (My Country) has finally retired its F-4E after June 7 this year. May the remaining Phantom operators, Turkiye and Greece, wrap up their Phantom glory well❤❤
It must be incredibly exciting to watch them live and from a close distance. It feels like they came out of no where sometimes. And the sound is amazing.
Turkey did a good job on the F4, beatiful paint and no or little smoke!

The pilot in black F-4 is base commander (leutant general) the RIO in back seat is Turkish Airforce Commander (general over 60)
Cool 👌
There is a saying in Turkish aviation: The plane does not fly, the pilot and the maintenance crew fly it.
Phantoms are awesome, the footage are outstanding... Thank you for sharing with us my friend... Wonderful...
My pleasure 🙏
