THANKS FOR WATCHING!!
Revenge of the sith is underrated
It's my favorite out of them all.
it isnt. A lot of people like it. For some people its just the best of the prequels.
Easily the best of the prequels but not better than 4-6 or Rogue one
Christian Longo it has horrible acting from Hayden Christiansan
Young SNKRS Bruh it was the dialogue that Lucas gave him, I mean " i don't like sand " what kind of dialogue is that bruh?
His pun was "Don't choke on you aspirations Director." And it fits his character. He's used puns like that before, for example, "Apology accepted Captain Needa." And another reason it fits his character is because Anakin uses humor all the time.
Gotham Savior when I saw this comment and rewatched the AOTC & ROTS. I only noticed Anakin's wit and humour!
Jack Daniels you see what I mean then
We'd be honored if you could join us. I find your lack of faith disturbing. I'm sure there are more, but those are the other 2 best examples of his sarcastic humor coming out.
The difference is, when Anakin becomes Vader, he changes. His humor in the line "I hope you do not choke on your aspirations, Director" seems different than his lines in the OT. (To me) He seemed different and didn't seem the same as the one I know from the OT. When he was Anakin, he was very funny at times... weird at others and the script was bad at other times as well, but Anakin becoming vader is a major change and difference.
None of those are puns. Just threats and sarcastic humor. But to me the pun felt really stupid.
I want to see a spinoff about Darth Vader hunting down Jedi a few years after order 66
YESSSSS!! Possibly have the main Jedi on the run be Quinlan Vos who definitely survived order 66 and could definitely get a good casting for!
I've been thinking they should make a 501st Legion movie, that way you get a lot of main story line missing between 3 and 4, plus Darth Vader in his prime
And also a chance to include Delta Squad from Republic Commando!
As much as I love Vader, the plot would be rather predictable, don't you think?
May04bwu yes but... it's Darth Vader. It would still be awesome
The pun is normal for Vader. Anakin always cracks puns and being a smartass in clone wars animation. Of course Vader will do the same since they're both practically the same person.
Darth Vader always made puns.
Roy Fokker "I find your lack of faith disturbing" "Apology accepted captain Needa" "Perhaps you think you are being treated unfairly?"
+Roy Fokker Actually yeah - he kinda did LMAOOOOOO LMAOOOOOOOOLL
+Roy Fokker
As mentioned above, he force chokes Captain Needa to death and then says "Apology accepted, Captain Needa". Maybe not a pun, but definitely a sarcastic one liner
"The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am" has some jokey sarcasm to it as well, since Vader has never been shown to be forgiving
Miratesus it made him cooler
ED WG I agree!
Star Wars was so good...I got mind blowed with how they were able to tie everything together lol.
STEFAN BANUELOS Ik it was pretty cool how they did that
I thought it was an intimidating pun. It still sounded scary to me. "Be careful not to choke on your aspirations"
Clowncake Classic Annie.
Clowncake same, everybody is butthurt about it even tho he did it in the OT
The Sloth of Wisdom yeah like when he said "apology accepted captain needa" but he didn't really accept it. That was kind of the same
Nicely layered pun at that. "...choke on your aspirations" (aspirate = the sound of breath).
The only complaints I have seen about it are on some RUclips comments. I felt it was a very Vaderesque thing to say. He has said stuff like that before. I honestly was surprised by the complaints.
Rogue One had The Best Darth Vader Scene Ever!!!!!!!!
Best Vader Scene in any Star Wars movie!
Elektra I know I freaked out so much in the cinema when he starts fucking everyone up!
Vader was awesome!!!
Emergency Awesome yeap! It was a great scene! It reminded me of The Force Unleashed great VG also 👌👋
Elektra what was the scene
What... a Darth Vader spin-off? He's featured or mentioned in all 8 movies, the 2 TV shows, his own comic book series, multiple canon novels and the franchise is about his story. A spin-off would be like Voldemort getting a spin-off from Harry Potter
Yeah, the Saga films are his "spin off".
Haha yeah, the Star Wars saga is his story and legacy. He is the main character of the franchise.
theYoungNation and this makes it less awesome in what way?
+Ezra Blasi OP is just saying we don't need a standalone Darth Vader film because everything has already been so Darth-Vader-focused in the first place, that's all.
theYoungNation I'd watch a Voldemort spin-off where he's taking down diffrent Wizards and such.. it could be a great movie or series!
The Darth Vader scene almost made me cry from happiness
I'm SO happy we got a good Darth Vader fight, we need MOOOOORE.
Maybe more in the future spinoff films.
I hope so.
Dylan Smith what happend
patsnats 14 Vader tearing through a couple dozen rebel soldiers like an artillery shell through tissue paper
Every dies at the end her father dies boom SPOILED BOI
the pun was fucking great and was 100% accurate to his character
jag519 no it wasn't
his name is literally darth father, he needs to make a dad joke
"Apology accepted Captain Needa...."
+Simon Goligher yes it was. He was just like that in 4-6
Simon Goligher *I find your lack of faith disturbing*
Let me know how you want the new Saga films to invoke *Vader/Anakin* I'm not expecting force ghost Anakin. Posting new *Avengers Infinity War* tonight :)
Emergency Awesome Do you think Lucas Film should of just made a Star Wars Phoenix Squardron trilogy? they could of ended it like rogue one.
Maybe as a flashback, or an old memory I guess.
Emergency Awesome
Charlie I have a question, do you think this season of the flash will have black flash, or was what we saw last season for like nerds, people who recognizes him from the comics
Emergency Awesome when Darth Vader appeard in the movie it was so awesome!
awesome! can't wait
All the films are about Vader, he's the main character of the story.
Right ? I mean even george lucas said that you could name "Star wars" in "The tragedy of Anakin Skywalker" so .. its his saga
They should have a Darth Vader/Tarkin buddy cop movie.
Shane Harrison Star Wars: A Buddy In Vader
I honestly want a Star Wars movie that takes place between 3 & 4 which is about what happens during Order 66.
I'm with you on that!
XxEmeraldSquidxX it would be all about Darth Vader killing remaining Jedi, which would be so amazing
Joe Draper And, Order 66 was when Vader was at his peak, it was his beginning.
that's what the vader stand alone movie should be!
ECxTheMaster Yep.
James Earl Jones is really getting up in the age department. If they don't do a spin off quickly we may lose the iconic voice of vader
they need to give him ten thousand lines to record for future use
Big Ro I'm sure they can easily recreate the voice considering the realistic nature of the full CGI tarkin
+Alex Cook There are plenty of people out there who can voice Darth Vader anyways, no need for CGI
Gavin Wilkins Actually dipshit there is if you want a character in a storyline but the actual actor is dead that's why they did a CGI tarkin. And need for a young Leia CGI to link up rouge one to new hope. If they cast Carrie Fisher she's to old for the character for the time frame.

The version I saw Vader said, "Careful not to choke on your own ambitions."
Feefye Fofum Yeah. I liked it because it showed us that anakin and Vader are the same person.
And it shows that Anakin who said, "I hate sand," and, "wizard!" is the kind of guy who would indulge in a poor pun.
Vader did make this kind of puns in the original trilogy though
Eduardo Meneghel You're right. I was just shown a compilation of the scenes where Vader is sarcastic and witty.
I disagree with you about the pun. Ani/Vader is full of snark and puns throughout the series; I think the cringe worthy pun fits well.
Brandon Taitano *Chokes Captain Needa to death*
"Apology accepted, Captain Needa..."
Yeah, Vader has always been a smartass xD
Dont choke on your ambitions
no it's "becareful not to choke on your aspiration director krennic."
At the end of the day, it wasn't that cringeworthy. It was a not-so-veiled threat to Krennic's life, a la choké. He wasn't just referring to the choking that was currently happening.
That's what I'm saying. Would you have been fucking laughing if you were Krennic? Jesus Christ, if you're a Sith lord, any bad pun you say is taken seriously as fuck. And it does indeed fit with his character, even if it didn't, Star Wars has done this many times before. I chuckled when it happened, but only because of how he _didn't_ _even_ _turn_ _around_ after Krennic asked his retarded question, and he kind of had to say something before walking away. It's humorous how easily he reminded him who's actually in charge. But it _wasn't_ cringeworthy.
I would love to see a spinoff film between episode 3 and 4 when Vader is cutting down surviving Jedi
Vader's pun was brilliant. The whole theatre laughed. Vader is legit the best character in cinematic history
I think that the reason he is living on Mustafar is because that is where he lost everything and living there causes him pain and depression which is what powers the dark side inside him, and also to remind him why he went to the dark side and why he can't go back to the light and that he has to stay in darkness.
Mehdi Laichi I know all of this, and all of the things that you said happened on Mustafar. And he's punishing himself but not for the reason that Charlie said.
Gotham Savior its his hate for himself that harness the dark side in him , he think he killed padme ,the child she carried and anakin (hislightside that died with padme) . In the ROTS novel and some canon comic they really go deep with whats going on in his head , but yeah like charlie said he choose mustafar as a self punishment .. its really tragic and sad when you think about it
I think he lives there be cause there is no sand. It's coarse and dry and it gets everywhere.
Gotham Savior right on Man I thought that too and it such awesome symbolism
MrSeaWalrus IsAwesome agreed
I am one with the force and the force is with me.
Aakash Vadher I think he was actually me favourite character in the film, well developed, and cool as fuck
Eli Corry-Wright imagine if he whipped out a dual bladed lightsaber on scaraff that would have been lit
😂😂 can you imagine haha
I am one with the force and the force is with me.
I am one with the force and the force is with me.
Donnie Yen was my 2nd fav character
Vader got serious arthritis when he fought obi wan.
Nathan Brinkerhoff lmao!!!
Maybe he, um... was emotionally crippled, when he fought Obi-Wan again after all the years, by the flashbacks of their last meeting and what horrible things happened to him. It threw him off his game. And Obi-Wan is just old and out of practice.
elfsong713 or you know... the film was just made before fight choreography was what it is today..
anyone else finding it hard to take Kylo Ren seriously?
I mean.. to me hes basically just a whiney teen with anger issues with a crappy bootleg darth vader outfit..
He just doesnt do it for me.
Byron Story my thoughts exactly.
I am not digging Kylo at all. Worst bad guy yet. Instead of Darth Vader we get Emo Vader?
Krennic was a lot of fun, though.
that's the point right?
I think that's the point, isn't it? he's a wannabe loser who tries to be like his Gramps but can't fill his shoes. The real evil is Snoke.
Does anybody else think that Kylo Ren's helmet looks incredibly uncomfortable? It looks like it would be pressed right up against his face, squishing his nose. Vader's at least looks like it has some breathing room (no pun intended)
Vaders Castle could be the home of the knights of Ren.
Obi-Wan Cannoli true
lets not.
Plz yes
"crushed by weight of ambitions?"
wasnt it
"dont choke on your aspirationz"
Am i the only one who likes the chock joke
JoshMC2000 I loved it. People love complaining
JoshMC2000 #chock
JoshMC2000 i loved it. people are just so simple minded and arrogant. fucking morons
I liked the pun. Showed that Vader still had some humor in him from Anakin. Also in the OT he had some sarcastic lines which were funny.
"Don't choke on you're aspirations director".

I really want a Starkiller/darth Vader spinoff
Luke Munson sadly starkiller is not canon but i do agree with you especially since starkiller is my favorite legends character
ILMxLAB are currently working on a Darth Vader VR movie ;)
Luke Munson guess what they already made two spin off games The Force unleashed and they where garbage.
Obi-Wan Cannoli TFU is garbage so was the revenge of sith game.even shadows of empire had more challenge to it. why I say TFU is I beat both on hardest difficulty like nothing.
Vader should just come in, kick ass and then leave! He does not need any major dialogue at all.
Winthrop Augustine But we all want to hear James Earl Jones and his intimidating voice.
James Earl Jones didn't sound all that great in Rogue One. He's getting too old now.
ComiCop Really? Oh. I didn't actually hear his voice because I saw the movie in spanish lol.
I don't think Vader having a castle home on Mustafar was because he felt conflicted, but more to dwell on the emotions which would make him stronger in the dark side of the force, hatred for Kenobi, pain and sadness at the loss of Padme who he thought he had accidentally killed on Mustafar, and probably the power he felt killing the last of the separatists leaders he was sent to kill.
And, yes, Vader was totally the bad ass I was hoping to see for so long at the end of rogue one.
I agree, Vader should not have much dialogue to keep him more mysterious and menacing.. he already said too much by telling out "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" at the end of revenge of the sith.
And talking about being scarier by being more silent than talking too much, the same could be same with Freddy Kruger, for example... he was way scarier in the fist Nightmare on Elm Street (and maybe the 2nd one) where he hardly talked and terrorized and killed with less words.. all the subsequent Nightmare movies gave him way too much dialogue and even worst.. a character personality which made him too dark humored and simply less scary being able to carry some conversation with Freddy.
You do not want to humanize a villain and making him (or her) less intimidating with a lot of dialogue.. the fewer, or none, the better.
Think about it.. all good villains which are scary, menacing and generally at the top of the list of somebody you do not want to meet in a dark alley are like this and do not talk much at all.. Michael Meyers, Jason Vorhees, Pinhead, The Terminator.. in some examples where they actually do start talking more & more, once they open their mouths and start talking, their scare factor drops a lot and fast.
Wing Yip this is the best and most logical theory to me. Great idea
I don't see the comment anymore, but someone (BLUE) had replied to me (I think) and said, "In the visual guide it says Sidious made him live there lol.."
Yeah, I feel there is no conflict within Vader at this point in time.. he's been immersed in the dark side for some time at this point and to quote McDonalds, "lovin' it".. he's pretty cold and has no remorse and fully believes in the Empire and going with the flow of the dark side. So, how better than to reside in a place which will constantly remind Vader of all the things which will add fuel to the fire which burns his passion for the dark side.
If so, I wouldn't doubt it.. I think Sidious would do whatever to make Vader fall deeper into the dark side and remain his apprentice... and if my speculation and theories about why I think Vader would reside on Mustafar, this extra bit of info would also contribute to such ideas about Vader & Mustafar. Anyways..
Loved Rogue One.. I would almost want to rank it in a shared spot at #1, but it's a different kind of Star Wars movie.. I think The Empire Strikes Back is still my #1, then A New Hope is #2 and Rogue One is #3 (though, I'd be tempted to have it share spot at #2 with A New Hope since it's basically part of the same story, just the first half of it, I suppose).
I can see why some people may have left feeling a bit empty and depressed at the end.. the Rebels suffered a victory, but at a high cost.. I had strong feelings that the Rogue One group would lose some people.. never occurred to me that the entire team would be wiped out. Sad, but in the way these tragic complete & noble sacrifice for the mission make for great stories, also.
I feel a little cheated and deprived of the possibility of seeing at least one or more of the Rogue One team members making a reappearance in another movie down the line... ain't going to happen now unless another movie dating before this movie to tell of some of their back story in another story altogether.
In the end, I kind of preferred it this way the way Rogue One ended.. they went all out and made the ultimate sacrifice to help the rebellion and it was an exciting climate ending seen to the very end.
Speaking of the end, besides the Tantive IV escaping, not all of the rebel fleet was captured or destroyed, right? Some of the fighter squadrons should have gotten out cause we see them in A New Hope at the battle in the end.
Curious if it really was the Ghost (from SW: Rebels) appearing and fighting at the end? Curious if they made it out... have to try and rewatch again either in the theaters to catch more of this detail and others.. or wait like 3 months until it's out on blueray.. these movies come out so fast these days.. which is pretty great.
After Order 66, many Jedis went into hiding. You could have many films of Vader just going out and hunting and killing the remaining Jedis. Many who are much older and more skilled than Vader but not as strong in the force. You can even have a few meeting with Jedis who would have an emotional connection to Anakin and that would make their killing that much more traumatic for Vader.
J. José Rivera Torres jedi is already plural
I cant believe anyone could be upset about the be careful not to choke on your aspirations. That was amazing.
1. Pablo Hidalgo confirmed the planet to be Mustafar.
2. The man bowing to Vader in the bakta tank is one of the emperor's close sith worshippers. It was confirmed by Pablo to be a man by name but I can't remember. you showed him in that old picture you showed with all the old men looking at the camera. the guy on the very right.
at scene 3:22...he is the guy on the very right
Nicholas Sainburg actually Pablo hildago said it's not the vann'e in empire and return of Jedi it's vanne a whole new character.
Colin Brouillette really? so a new character with almost the same name?
Yep if you google it be surprised to what comes up.
Colin Brouillette huh....Thanx for the info bra
That last Vader scene in rogue one was just....the best thing ever
That Darth Vader scene was everything XP
You explain it the best for the right amount of time everything is just perfect very well explained! :)
thanks!
After that last Vader scene I want him to be revived in episode 8
No you don't. Shoe-horning a revived Vader into the new trilogy would ruin him.
True
TheLegend 27 jesus christ thats thelegend27
Darth Vader needs a solo spin-off movie!!
Wouter D' haese He had a whole triology.
ILMxLAB are currently working on a Darth Vader VR movie ;)
Lets Paint It would be more awesome now bcs of the special effects and such. I want him to fight a lightsaber fight with modern effects and choreography...
Wouter D' haese Even if they would make the endless stupid decision to use Darth Vader again in a spin off, they wouldn't let him do flippidoohs and goofy jump choreographics, like in the prequels. Darth Vader in Rogue One fought like in the original triology, and so it would be in a spin off.
there is definitely room for a darth vader movie, maybe chronologically between episode 3 and rogue one. but i wouldn't rush it. if they work on that movie with some silly deadline, they're gonna screw it up horribly and then give themselves dumb excuses.
rogue one was born fairly organically out of old notepad ideas by george lucas, then slowly crafted into being by an unencumbered team. a vader anthology should get similar love.
It's obviously because the dark side feeds on pain and anger. He is most powerful there.
I like the idea that Vader and Luke didn't go all out in their sabre fights because they 'loved' each other- i.e Vader to his old master obi wan and Vader to his son
George Connett Then why was their Mustafar fight so incredible. Anakin/Vader wanted to kill Obi-Wan no doubt so why not in 4? Plus he killed him anyway
Shit Talk Industries He was hate filled and had no remorse or regret at that point, why do you think that vader immediately shouted nooooo as soon as he realised what he had become?
+Shit Talk Industries Obi-Wan didn't intend to fight in ANH. There was no need for big effort.
Rogue One>The Force Awakens
Turnt Alien ehhhh... fuck it your right
Does it matter that much? Anyway, let's just hope for a great Episode 8 to come.
I would love to see a darth Vader spinoff movie
Rushmazing me 2
Rushmazing.....so Episodes 1 - 6 weren't enough for you?
EliasTheHunter I loved them all but u never got to see darth Vader hunting down the last remaining Jedi
there's no need for a darth vader movie, seeing as how star wars is basically centered around anakin/vader.
Yeah we got 3 entire movies of Vader (Anakin) we dont need it. I think i would much rather watch an Obi Wan prequel or yoda prequel that explains where they are after the Republic falls
Razatiger Ault well actually if you think about it, the three originals were kind of still about Anakin, just more indirectly
nanothestrange Thats what i meant. the prequels are about Anakin who is Vader.
Razatiger Ault no I'm talking about a new hope, empire strikes back and return of the jedi. and also the prequels. all the starwars movies are at least loosely about anakin.
nanothestrange the prequels and the OT are the story of Darth Vader. The arc of the story follows his rise, his fall, and his redemption. In my opinion he is the main character of those films.
Vader ruining rebel nerds at the end was the best
they didnt want to openly admit it had something from the prequels lol
s2k kyle That's what i thought too lol
Geronimo Martinez I don't think any director will want to relate any star wars movie with those terrible movies. I'm hoping for a complete remake lol
s2k kyle yet they threw in Bail Organa?
Luke McMahon it's not necessary a character from the prequels.
Luke McMahon Bail Organa was always Leia's "adopted" father even before episode 4
just wanted to add.. I don't think they should or will ever do this, BUT, at the same time, I also can't help but feel it would be kind of cool if they revised some of the original trilogy lightsaber battles.. in comparison to what we have seen and know some of the characters are capable of, the lightsaber battles in episodes IV-VI look so primitive.. very old style.
Vader & Kenobi are both old in A New Hope, but as the prequels have demonstrated, being old does nothing to slow down the reflex or exhibit some awesome bit of style in their swordsmanship. Yoda, Dooku & Sidious for examples. And what Vader shows off at the end of Rogue One makes this point even more so. I would imagine Kenobi should still have some skills to throwdown more spectacularly than what we saw during his final duel with Vader on the Death Star.
Luke Skywalker?... well.. he's the only one I could understand not having any visually spectacular fighting style.. he never really had an opportunity to learn from someone who could show him some cool tricks.. there is Master Yoda.. but, how much time did he exactly spend with Yoda to learn all about the force including some kick-ass lightsaber techniques?.. even at his advanced age, was Yoda able to jump, flip and all the crazy stuff we saw him do against Dooku and Sidious?.. and, if so, then Luke should have learned some better sword action from Yoda.. IF not.. well, then that explains the old and mundane sword swinging we see him do from ESB to ROTJ.
With the visual special fx they have these days to CGI anyone at any age to do just about anything, I'm pretty sure they will never re-edit all those classic lightsaber battles from Episdoes IV-VI.
I actually do believe in leaving a movie as original as possible and not molesting it too much just because you can make it better. BUT, I can't deny it would be nice and a sight to see a more visually exciting battle with enhanced swordplay knowing what we know these days on just how well a Jedi and Sith can and should be able to fight.
cried with excitement and happiness during that last Vader scene in rogue one. so fucking badass.
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Star Wars
3. Rouge One
4. Force Awakens/Return of the Jedi
5. Revenge of the Sith
6. Phantom Menace
7. Attack of the Clones
Obi-Wan Cannoli They made that movie on a shoe string, in a time when special effects were still garbage... I'd say what they achieved is incredible!!
The feminist awakens is worst than the prequels.
Not interested in a Han solo, solo film, but a Vadar one sign me the fuck up!
I wouldn't use darth vader as anything more than a scary presence - an imperial bogey man. For Han - he is a young smuggler - maybe we see him win the Millennium Falcon from Lando - Maybe we see him upgrade it a good chunk of the way through with the more robust hyperdrive and military quad cannons and such. It would be neat to see what ship he had getting to Cloud City and how he loses it or why he was desperate enough to make a play for Lando's ship to begin with.
His best enemy in this case is two fold - 1 is himself - Han is flying by the seat of his pants and sometimes that backfires, 2 is a bounty hunter or some villain that brings him into contact with Chewie. The main plot should revolve around that and the life debt between them. It should be a very emotionally raw film if done right - as Kashyyk is well known to be under the Imperial thumb quite heavily - principally following Order 66.
We should see nods to the clone wars battles - but no emperor or vader should be seen. There should be as little Force stuff as possible - as Han would still be in a phase of ignoring or rejecting it. No Jedi - as far as Han is concerned Vader killed them all.
Han>Boba movie will be teh sex
TDBoedy Vader did not kill literally EVERY single Jedi that escaped 66. The galaxy is HUGE with thousands of worlds and trillions of beings. While he killed a great many...dozens survived..went off the grid..blended in with populations..went to Outer Rim Worlds..ditched their sabers and robes..stopped using the force. It would literally take years of total dedication and an all consuming project..nevermind the increasing rebels threat..the Deathstar construction and other missions Palps would be sending Vader on.
the thing about his lightsaber skills is that with the rebels in Rogue One, he was only deflecting shots away from himself that were coming at him several at a time. with Obi-wan and Luke, he knew he was up against another strong force user, which meant he had to be more focused, and deliberate in his attacks. He was also going up against only one weapon attack. Plus, with Luke, deep down he truly did not want to hurt his son. So I'm only assuming his subconscious stopped him from going all out on Luke.
The pun was great! The Darth has said just as cheesy things before, and also considering Anakin's sense of humor, it was completely in character. And hilarious. And terrifying. I loved it.
I think Vader was holding back bec he was fighting his former master? 😁
He was like "Sweet someone else with a lightsaber. Haven't had a good duel in a while. Best not try too hard though, He's just an old man. I'll let him get a little bit of confidence, Then just fuck his shit up Vader Style LOLZ".
Yes, or just patronizing Obi Won after seeing how old and weak his former master has become.
kara bella my thoughts exactly. Given just how much he lost and how much pain he went through the last time he fought Obi-Wan you can't really blame him for being cautious.
kara bella That and I feel like Vader was somewhat weakened when seeing Obi-Wan. The Force works in mysterious ways ;)
lol you can retroactively justify it how ever you want, but the reality is that the original trilogy did not have the production values of modern hollywood blockbusters. i wouldn't be surprised if they remade them on the 40th or 50th anniversary with modern effects. fans would definitely shell out the change to watch them again.
on that note, remaking the prequel trilogy may be much more needed.
the high castle is also an architectural assertion of the high ground he didn't possess when he fell against obi-wan
You don't really need to explain how awesome it was.
I love the way they tied the destruction of Scarif to the beginning of A New Hope. easily the best star wars movie ive seen
That Darth Vader scene at the end had to be the most intense scene I have ever seen in a Star Wars movie.
There was a good explanation from the RUclipsr stupendous wave
I love his videos!
I just happened upon one of his videos and I was blown away with his research and attention to detail.
+angela williams I love his what if videos!
Yeah, since I just found him I'm catching up. Some of is info is from the books that George Lucas authorized years ago and I have read some, there's a lot!, But he's gone deep into the culture.
+angela williams he is a true fan of the StarWars Universe lmao
If you watch the Original Trilogy Darth Vader actually has a few lines of dark humor
Like "I find your lack of faith disturbing" as he casually chokes the guy. "Apologies accepted Captain Needa", or "We would be honored if you would join us" after deflecting blaster shots and yanking the blaster out of Han's hand from across the room. Also in Return Of The Jedi he says "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am". Then also his tone when he says "Most impressive" In Empire. Then in ROTJ "It is unwise to lower your defenses" There is a subtlety of humor in all of those examples that I think makes " don't choke on your aspirations" appropriate for his character.
The last scene is the first one of a New Hope!! I'm new to the whole Star Wars films
Kim Morris I.dont know if you are serious, but I.didnt see leia saying its hope in the film
dflowers30 remove phantom menace
The Machete order is a good way to watch the films. And, as a bonus, you can you get to completely skip the irrelevant Phantom Menace. (Machete Order: IV, V, II, III, VI. Rogue One fits nicely as the first - but it is not part of Luke's journey so the Machete Order lists it at the end.)
Can you do more
Ass
Anakin Skywalker and puns can never die. Vader may have killed Anakin but his sarcasm and puns are just so part of him. Many may have found it dorky, but "apology accepted, Captain Needa" and everything we saw about Anakin in the Clone Wars television show really holds up to this. Ahsoka Tano had a very similar line. Given the amount of specific Star Wars CW/Rebels references i had no problem with it. What a great movie. Thanks for this!
You're totally right, Charlie. Episode IV made Vader so iconic precisely because he was used so sparingly. My friend I saw Rogue One with said 'this was the Darth Vader that I was so terrified of as a child' and I agree. The prequels failed precisely because they ultimately functioned as a sort of news reel. By the end of the first movie everything was in place to figure out almost exactly how the third movie would end-Amidala is their mother, Jimmy Smits is Leia's adoptive dad, poor Hayden Christiansen will be physically wrecked after his dark side (that they saw as a kid??) comes out, and whatever other tiny details we didn't already have from the original trilogy. About the only surprise was the lava planet, but that's a hella cool place for the Emperor to keep Vader locked up at least! Rogue One functioned much better because it wasn't stretched out over three movies and because you know going in that they will find the Death Star plans and everyone will die so the whole movie was about the details of what led up to that, a completely unknown quantity before this movie.
Make sure not to choke on your aspirations, Emergency Awesome.
i want a standalone film of Darth Vader when he is hunting the lefover jedi from order 66.
I like George Lucas. He was my inspiration for going to film school. However, since he like to go back and add or tweak his original trilogy movies, he should go back and re-do the Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi fight scene. Making it more consistence with the rest of the films.
Terrian Givens Great Idea..horrible grammar!
George Lucas sold Star Wars, Lucasfilm, etc. etc. to Disney a few years ago. All the new movies (Ep 7/8/9, Rogue One, the Han Solo movie, and the unknown standalone movie coming in 2020) were produced by Kathleen Kenedy, JJ Abrams, and others under Disney's ownership now.
George Lucas has no ability or right to go back and fiddle with/redo anything, he's sold the rights.
I think the Darth Vader comic books that just finished would be a perfect Vader movie and show him at his best. Even with a twist that he's not seen as the chosen one but as a broken promise. With Palpatine testing him and Vader doing his own side mission to discover who the hero pilot is that destroyed the Death Star, you would have ample material and lots of reveal to make it a great movie. His dialogue is WAY better than in Rogue one, speaks often, and his actions are way more badass and thug than in Rogue One. I would definitely love to see this on screen.
I feel like the "choke on your own ambitions" pun was actually a great addition. It shows a bit of Anakin Skywalker seeping through the Vader facade and helps make his sudden change of heart in episode 6 more believable.
Dude Vader has been popping jokes for a while !
Deni Thompson exactly, OG Vader had tons of sarcastic/witty remarks and taunts, that's part of his character, so I don't know why people whine about Rouge One.
So glad I found this channel! Awesome content!!
thanks!
Emergency Awesome do you think this won't be the last time we see the the iconic character?
Immortan Joe I think I see u comment on Stern videos..
Yeah I have before
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. Rogue One
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Star Wars
6. Force Awakens
7. Phantom Menace
8. Attack of the Clones
Marcus andre That's exactly how I would put them in order from best to worst.
Marcus andre 1. Revenge of the sith
2. Empire Strikes back
Anything else is fine
why do people question why he chose mustifar? pain and aggression gives you power! he's a Sith lord. the way of the Sith is feeding on your own pain and negative emotions.
vader always used puns "apology accepted admiral."
I really loved that end Vader scene! I still cannot find myself to like Kylo Ren though. I cannot look at him with seriousness. I just see a crying little brat. Sorry.
zeron82411 I agree. keep the damn mask on ren.
I would have preferred Marilyn Manson in that Ren role, but maybe he's a bit too old.
zeron82411 Lets see how he looks battle scared.
I wanted to laugh when he took off his helmet :D Not because of his looks of course, it was just the whole conversation.
He takes off his helmert and you are like: David Schwimmer or Adam Sandler? The Waterboy? WTF?
"Don't get crushed on the weight of your aspirations"
Jordan Starkille he doesnt say that
I would be cool if they did a knight of the old republic movie
This movie really blew me away. I was not expecting that much personal emotion and empathy to these characters.
I think future Vader stuff would be most appropriate in a Kylo Ren movie (or even a short) where he learns as much as possible about Vader and gets "force flashbacks" about Vader kind of like the way Rey got when she touched Lukes sabre. You could see short scenes where Vader shows his power (like at the end of Rouge one), and even deeper and darker stuff like self loathing and the struggle within. That could give those small doses of Vader that we like and still have it be plausible.
When will people stop saying every new face is Snoke?
Don't choke on your aspirations 😉 As cheeky as it is it's also really sadistic.
Great analysis, thanks!
thanks!
I am so happy that you keep making these and collect info from other multiple sources and feed it in to us here. Only channel I watch religiously.
Vader's rampage at the end... DAYUM!! Can't wait to get the Blu Ray so I can watch it over and over again.
Right now I just hope Carrie Fisher is OK
Larry Kustyn yeah man she's good now
Larry Kustyn :(
Debbie Reynolds lost her will to live
Larry Kustyn shes in hell burning beside your great grandmother.
Jason X. Hahahahaha!
Gg to the guy who is subtitling this video. He is definitely not a Star Wars fan
Mr. Books explain?
AFK Browsing Most of the names were misspelled.
No spin off because the whole prequel trilogy and the original trilogy is all about him so why a spin off
Vader I mean
Anthony Bellino 789 we should have a spinoff of Vader between Revenge of the Sith and Rouge One
Anthony Bellino 789 a story of like Vader adjusting to his new suit
Tyler McGee y the whole trilogy is about him
Tyler McGee do it in comics
Best Vader scene ever. The fear in the eggshell head soldiers voice made me feel bad for him. The guy who was flung into the ceiling was so fantastic. Raw power!
I think Rogue One actually DOES gives us an answer as to why Darth Vader fought so poorly in ANH, despite giving us that badass Oldboy-inspired corridor scene. We don't need to impose on ourselves that Vader was actually better than we're viewing him to be in the originals.
The fact we saw Vader in a bacta tank kind of suggests Vader needs to 'recharge' his physical strength from time to time (perhaps even daily) even this far into his career as a sith lord. It's been two decades, and still the loss of his limbs still pains him. It suggests Vader has 'good days' and 'bad days' in terms of mobility, and the appearances of Luke and Kenobi in the original films were simply cutting into his medical treatment. At the end of Rogue One, he was at top form, and was 'treated' to 'dealing with the rebels', which he thoroughly enjoyed.
You could also factor in the fact Vader didn't really want to kill Obi wan his former friend, nor his son Luke, and it suggests that the dark side that usually flows so strongly in his movements, wasn't really being utilised in those duels.
James Earl Jones is getting up there & I doubt he wants to do an full on Vader movie. & as if Vader story hasn't been told?
The actor has said voicing Vader is only a few day's work to record line's so it isn't strenuous at all.
soupful OK then. Maybe it's in the cards. Cool.
It's atleast being discussed at Lucasfilm, especially after the reaction to Vader Rogue One.
Samuel95 How do you know that?
JudasDioBlackSabbathPriest I don't, just an assumption. It just makes sense that someone at Lucasfilm would at one point have said, "Hey let's do a Vader film" as we know they've talked about Boba Fett, Obi-Wan and Yoda as well as obviously doing Han Solo. But with the reaction to Vader in Rogue One and the fact that they've successfully revived to character for film, it just makes sense that it'll be in discussion at some point.
The only question I had about the force awakens is how such a petulant and temper tantrum prone brat was given command of first order armies?
C.B Black force awakens is a terrible movie!
CB BLack -- just like vader, he was given control because they feared his power. ALL dark side users are temper tantrum prone brats at one point because they harness the force with negative emotions. Yoda himself said to Luke in Return of the Jedi: "Fear, anger, hate; these are the dark side."
C.B Black he simply was force sensitive. Thats it.
Nathan McSparin no but seriously, kylo rens character could still have hate, anger, and fear. he just didnt need to be such a little bitch. they did the same with young anaking who was played by hayden christensen and hes not a bad actor its just the way they made him act. took they guys fame and future opportunities in movies.
Here's a thought about the saber battles from the end of "Rogue" to Vader and Obi-Wan in IV: Vader slicing and dicing [non-Jedi] rebels with blasters vs Obi-Wan. It's like Keanu dodging bullets in "real time" vs "bullet time". Forget about fancy fight choreography and just focus on two highly-trained Jedi masters.
He was fighting a jedi knight who defeated him in fair combat in A New Hope, and he was fighting rebel non-force sensitive troops in Rogue One.
You can always think maybe Vader didn't really want to kill Obi Wan, even subconsciously, and therefore wasn't really fighting to his full potential.
Laya at the end of the movie 😬 when Vader when over 9000! At the end 😂 I got chills when he turned his lightsaber 😂😂😂
I love the line Vader used "do not choke on your own ambition" while choking the guy. Priceless lol
I think it was a sith inquisitor in the scene with darth Vader
I just saw Rogue One and the final Vader scene was easily the most memorable of any movie. It was absolutely amazing seeing Vader be more like the Vader he is supposed to be. I loved the movie overall, and today being the day of Carrie Fishers passing, made the final scene that more emotional and filled more of the gap between the originals and the new movies that I felt after The Force Awakens. Great movie.
the thing you forgot is also the pain of being on that planet helps fuel vaders rage and hate thats why he uses it. He believes there is good in him so he puts himself in a place where he constantly feel the rage of that day to help push him further and further into the darkness. Its the same principle as many of the extended universe stories in which a character either lives in an area strong in the darkside or somewhere a horrible painful memory took place.
