  • In this video Leah explains the process of the C&P exam for veterans with plantar fasciitis. She discusses how plantar fasciitis, a common condition among veterans, can be service-connected either directly or secondarily to other conditions, such as orthopedic ailments or weight gain. Prior to the exam, veterans receive a packet with details about the examination, including the examiner's credentials. During the exam, the Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) is used to evaluate the condition against the criteria in the 38 Code of Federal Regulation. The DBQ covers a wide range of foot conditions and asks for the history of the condition, pain levels, functional impairment, treatment history, and any surgical interventions. It also includes questions about the physical examination, pain during various movements, use of assistive devices, and the condition's impact on employment.
