    Great video. Stealth and 3000GT are identical. I work on them and own 2. History (1980s-90s): Dodge partnered with Mitsu due to Chrysler's business objective. GM partnered with Toyota and Ford partnered with Mazda. To make the long story short, Mitsu had the quality and technology so Chrysler had Mitsu design and produce everything, except for the Stealth's exterior design. Dodge did a slight modification of exterior but dimensions were same. Everything else was produced by Mitsu and stamped with Mitsu's 3 diamond logo. Dodge stamped Chrysler logo on exterior sides only. Ultimately, freed up Dodge in 1992 so that they could focus on their ultimate super car...Viper. Reduced some of the high tech items from Mitsu by simplifying and focusing on brute power and cornering...thus, the Viper came to dominate against all high performance cars...

    Great project 😁👍 these cars are so nostalgic of the 90's with style that can't be found in today's lineups!

      Couldn't agree more! The styling of the car still seems current ... even today.

    I just got a 1991 VR4 also with a really bad knock. I dropped the oil pan and the #5 piston rod has a spun bearing. A couple questions for yah. I am also a zero experience mechanic who wants to learn something new.
    Did you print out Erik’s help guide on paper or is that the service manual in the corner of the video?
    I haven’t gotten through all your vids yet bc I’m just focusing the engine removal but how long did it take to rebuild after you pulled the engine?
    Besides labeled baggies for bolts and stuff what other stuff did you do to stay organized and do you have any additional reading that provided additional insight for staying organized.
    Great videos btw. It’s a great macro view to see the overall process without any extra fluff.

      I followed the guide that I linked to in the video description step by step how to pull the engine, and it was VERY helpful. I highly suggest printing that out and using it. That being said, I am also using the service manual to help guide the rebuild portion and that I bought off ebay. There are also PDF versions available on line (www.3sx.com/tech-manuals-service-technical-reference) if you don't want to go buy the "dead tree" version.
      All in all it took me from November of 2020 to June of 2022 to get the car back on the road. I didn't work much in the winter months because it was too cold, and I spent about 3 months waiting for the block and heads to get refurbished at the local machine shop. I am sure that it could be done MUCH quicker, but I wanted to take my time and was not in a hurry. I didn't want this to become another "chore" to get done, but instead be fun.
      Two other great channels to check out are ruclips.net/user/3000GTGTORestoration, and Huracan Ian's Channel ruclips.net/channel/UC-P-HwDKpTg7o0A2XTjCvyg. These are a WEALTH of knowledge and if you haven't subscribed to them, I highly suggest you do.
      One other link I will leave you with www.3si.org/ If you aren't a member, I suggest joining. There are a bunch of great people there who have rebuilt these cars a few times. There are some heavy opinions there, and not everyone is an expert, but I have found the knowledge I got there more useful than not.
      Good luck on your project, there is nothing quite like getting the engine to turn over for the first time after you spent so long rebuilding it. Thanks for watching and the compliments.

    Awesome video.. that engine bay in those cars looks cramped asf. Hardly any room to fit your hand in anywhere under the hood

    • @AGeeksGarage
      @AGeeksGarage  3 года назад

      It is very cramped. I am actually replacing a bunch of parts while the engine is out not because they are broken but because I can get to them easily. One of the things I am not looking forward to is the engine mounts, there is one between the engine and the firewall that is going to be darn near impossible to get to... Thanks for the feedback!

    that's a beautiful stealth!!! i wish i can get one that looks just like yours.. do you still have it? if so, how does it run?

      Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I still have it. It's in the process of being rebuilt. Check out some of the other videos on my channel, or subscribe and watch along as I get it back to running. It ended up having a spun bearing, so I tore the engine down to the block and had it cleaned up. Now I am trying to put it all back together. I loved these cars back in the 90s and am really hoping I can get it back on the road.

      I bought it on ebay. You can also find an electronic version of it out on the internet. There are multiple copies of it, but I know you can find it here: www.3sx.com/tech-manuals-service-technical-reference

    Is that a twin turbo? Right now I’m looking at getting one of these well it’s just a r/t

    • @AGeeksGarage
      @AGeeksGarage  3 года назад +2

      Yes it is. Twin Turbo all the way. I can't wait to really drive it ... I took it around the block twice and then parked it due to the knocking noise. I didnt want to damage it any more than it already was. Hopefully this summer will be its time to shine.

    nice lift, what is it?

      @AGeeksGarage  3 года назад +2

      That is a QuickJack 7000 (www.quickjack.com/car-lifts/bl-7000slx/) it is awesome, especially for a small garage. It gets me enough room to move around under the car and it is SUPER steady. I should probably do a review video for it at some point.
