Amazing. This is one of my favourite themes from FF7, the game starts to feel so deep once you enter the city of the ancients. I'd say this is good enough to just get placed straight into the remake.
To bad we don't get to explore much of the city. Ever notice how the most interesting places in games are ruins, but how we never get to fully explore said ruins. I love the Forgotten City, it's unique architecture and design, but very little of it actually gets shown, a huge waste if you ask me.
I gotta say, this is by far the best rendition I've heard of this song. I love it! I've listened to it on and off for the last half a year and I always come back to it. Great work! Please keep it up!
Hi again Pontus! I've already bought a bunch of your songs off of Itunes, but wanted to swing by and tell you that I've just re-discovered this song after yearning for more FFVII music -- and this one is particularly incredible. My god, thank you for your work on this album!
Astounding... *THE BEST* version I've heared so far during the last 19-20 years. This track makes you pondering on what could have happened if Pontus Hultgren, Second Narrator, Bitsymphony, Sschafi1, Songe, Marc Papaghin and others would create an album. There's nothing left to say apart from shuting myself up, sitting my ass down in my chair and drinking my goddamn tea, surendering in the meanwhile to the power of the Ancients ;-)
I just had a "WOW" moment. Didn't expect this sound this good. Most renditions of this song just sound weird or not right, but your (fake?) voice sound really good. I love this.

French horn on the underlying "do-sol-do-le-fa-sol"/"D-A-D-Bb-G-A" figure was distracting. French horn doesn't particularly sound great with faster passages/melodic lines. Perhaps it's because it's a little high in the register of the instrument. Or perhaps it's because of the midi samples of it. I do love this arrangement/orchestration however. That french horn was so distracting though... Maybe it being down the octave on bass trombone would've been a better voicing? Excellent arrangement however. :)
Eh+ Gamer While working and studying, it took me about a year to make these 18 tracks, so while I'm in this situation it is not likely. However, a shorter volume 2 may happen next year, taking care of some songs that didn't make the cut on the first album. Before that, I'm taking a break from FF7 with two other concept-albums from other games :)
I've loved everyone of your arrangements, but here you missed the mark, sir. This simply isn't haunting enough. It needs that synthesizer portamento sub-lead and stronger tubular bells underscored by dark piano. But, that's just my opinion and there really is nothing wrong with your piece per se. And I realize you probably didn't try to copy the original too much. You are truly talented.
I don't think the attempt here was to be dark, but rather more emotional, to which I think he nails it, very ambient and melodic, much like all the pieces in Final Fantasy VII. In short it conveys more of an emotional struggle, not a darkness.
@@ultris07 That's perfectly fine of course. And it is indeed an amazing cover. But there was a reason Nobuo Umaetsu made it sound so dark. The haunting melody in the original was there to foreshadow the horrible and abrupt death of Aerith. I could also be wrong however, no one but Nobuo himself truly knows why he decided to make it sound so foreboding.
Would you allow me to use part segments of some tracks of your playlist for a video that I am currently making? You would be credited for the arrangment just like Uematsu-san for the original.
Don't break what isn't yours. You owe the priest king, righteous king, (Holy God), a new one. And your not the creator of that body either, you owe for damages for that too.
Love the funeral toll in this song, very subtle foreshadowing of the events to come shortly.

I agree whole-heartedly.

This is one of my favourites too. But this one is also brilliant: ruclips.net/video/AvxToduHm9M/видео.html

The title talk about something actually very real.
I thought I was good with my ff7 midis and ff7 piano collection album. But wow. This is amazing. I think I am going to buy your album.
You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet aka. city of the ancients... this song gave me chills
This is the best remake ever of this song that I've heard so far. Great job! I'd LOVE to hear your version of "Sending A Dream To The Universe" :)
Absolutely love this re-creation. I simply can't get over by how great this album is. This would go amazing into a movie or the remake.
Best version of this song I’ve ever heard. Great job!
Is it possible, that this track gets even more epic and ancient? ^^
Great work!
I can hear the SHOUTS of the planet!
But the song isn't heavy enough
Can hear the sounds of the Nords though
Your work is incredible! Im blown away from every trak!

Between 00:00 and 00:20 ... Meh... just another version of that.
After 00:20 ... WHAT THE HELL IS THIS FREAKING VERSION!
Awesome work man.
This would be like my intro theme to another FF7 story set in the future. Brilliant stuff.
You would be a solid option for FF7 Remake musics
Congrats for this awesome rearrangement. I hope your music will be put inside the OST of FFVII Remake👍👍👍
Excellent !!
YO Square-enix put your ears on this guy's work! He knows how to touch your music... Hire this guy for Final Fantasy 7 Remake.... NOW!
Now wouldn't that be a dream come true!
+Ricardo Fernandes Just exactly what I thought. I haven´t heard of a best arrangement for FFVII ost.
Why when they can just hire Nobou?
I am very impressived, good job!
Amazing.
This gives me ASMR
I learned (or was reminded if I'd forgotten) of something new! Thanks.
I like the 'haw' noises.
omg goose bumps time.
The planet cried but nobody answered.

+alan sixx Sorry for the delay, added info in the description now
my holy godness........
Similar to Jesper Kyd musics. Amazing.
The version used in FF7R is damn good
Do you have a link to that?
AetiusUS it’s called ‘seven seconds till the end’ just search it there are a few uploaded
Any plans on doing the whole soundtrack?

Its just his interpretation of the track. Make your own version and hit the mark since you know your stuff.

its faster then i remember
Why... Am I crying ?
You aren't the only one
The penultimate compliment anyone can give a musician.
This gives me Assasins creed Ezio days vibes. Amazing

Dont go Aeris..
Very good but not ominous and foreboding enough. Very....Hollywood too
Your DP reminds me too much of Matthew Santoro.
