For those who have not noticed, this is not a loop, there are different variations to the song: 00:00 the "regular" theme, without changes to the intrumentation 02:17 - 03:23 this whole part i added low strings, cello's and basses along with a subtle violin playing the notes of the main viola. 03:24 - the "regular" version plays again with no changes for the last time 05:30 to the end - this part also has low strings under some notes, i removed the harps at the end. i removed the bassoon and all woodwinds, i lowered the main strings by one octave and added the choirs along with the main melodies.
I have to say that your first variation, or the second section if you will, is my favorite, followed by the ending variation. The bass added feels like it actually encompasses me, pulling me into it, versus just hearing it. I don't know what Square-Enix has planned for FF7R once they get to this area, but I am glad you have this here no matter what happens.

I'm blown away. You gave this song a completely new life. It was always a song I would usually skip over. Always felt it had a nice moody potential but it just didn't quite fit in the original midi. What you did here with it, giving it a small chamber feel really highlights the anxious feeling of oneness. Thank you.

Excellent! The only thing I'm on the fence about is strings on the theme line. That line always seemed to me to have a sort of alien quality that everything else danced around. But the slight distortion in the strings gives it almost the same eerie quality. :)

This is incredible. I'm going through it again and I can only think: Is this really nostalgia only? Am I really blinded by it and the game is just not as good as it seems? The story, the party, everything. What happened? why is it so hard to find games with provoking story and characters?

Good work, although I still think the synths used in the original add a spooky, almost alien quality to the place, this has some power behind it and the violins accentuate the hopelessness of what's to come regarding Aeries and Sephiroth.

so sad and horrible thing is that this piece and the temple of the ancients songs (the 2 more beautiful melodies in FFVII are not in the FFVII rebirth in its entirety.. just some few reminescence notes that dont do justice to this.. quite disapointed to all the ending part of rebirth.. the Aerith part was handled poorly aswell, not showing what has actually happened... she deserved a better goodbye!

I feel that the violins don't work in this version. They end up being to high in pitch, and then when the rest of the song picks up, everything's in the higher range (if that makes any sense). The original had such an other worldly feel, and that segment had a lower pitch in general, which made the song flow together better.
+Random Bystander Although this track sounds good, I agree completely. I always felt the City of the Ancients had a haunting feeling, especially with what happens there in the story... All the feels...
Good to know, I was also u sure of such a big change in the instrumentation of this song. I like it still, and I think I turned out good, but that synthesizer in the original is just haunting. Check my previous version of this song, I think you will like it more maybe.

so sad and horrible thing is that this piece and the temple of the ancients songs (the 2 more beautiful melodies in FFVII are not in the FFVII rebirth in its entirety.. just some few reminescence notes that dont do justice to this.. quite disapointed to all the ending part of rebirth.. the Aerith part was handled poorly aswell, not showing what has actually happened... she deserved a better goodbye!

I feel that the violins don't work in this version. They end up being to high in pitch, and then when the rest of the song picks up, everything's in the higher range (if that makes any sense).
The original had such an other worldly feel, and that segment had a lower pitch in general, which made the song flow together better.
+Random Bystander Although this track sounds good, I agree completely. I always felt the City of the Ancients had a haunting feeling, especially with what happens there in the story... All the feels...
Good to know, I was also u sure of such a big change in the instrumentation of this song. I like it still, and I think I turned out good, but that synthesizer in the original is just haunting. Check my previous version of this song, I think you will like it more maybe.
