      Yep. I want to see these youtubers pack everything for a family of 4 or 5 in the bed along with all sleeping bags, pads and food. Most of the time, it's just them solo or bringing a buddy with another vehicle. Show us how it's done for an average family going camping out in the backcountry.

    I can’t say that I’ve ever slept in the back of the pick up truck, though I know a lot of friends and family that have, but when I was a little guy, I slept on a lot of boats gotta be a similar situation, except for boats move. Although when bikepacking, I trained myself to sleep in the seat on my recumbent trike, so I wouldn’t have to bring a sleep system.

    I got the previous Hub tent and it's so great for my wife and I. We actually ran into Talon at FSR which was so weird since his video is what got me there. We used it as a shelter during a snowy Halloween party and three people asked where they could get one. At the time FSR wasn't selling any so it's cool to see them back in that market. There are some interesting changes in this new one.

    The hub tent is cool. Wish I had the room in my Jeep Gladiator. I don't run any racks with my tonneau so everything for a family of 4 has to fit in the bed. Tent, sleeping bags and pads, tarps, camp kitchen, propane tank and cooler for food. Everything has to fit in the back of the bed with the tonneau closed. Hub tent is just too big though.

    Been inching towards buying that HUB2 as it’s also on sale right now. Really excited when I saw you pull that out. I’m digging that the light does leak in a bit, since there’s no clear view windows in inclement weather, so it’s nice to see you’re not going to be completely blacked-out if needing the panels dropped, while staying dry. And that stove-jack… 🤌🏼

Can I plug the battery into the truck then the fridge into the battery and never have to worry about switching cords around? I’m looking for a fridge/freezer that will live in the back of the truck 24-7 365 for work.

    I’m new to camping and I was wondering if the fear of someone attacking you while you sleep is common. It is fairly easy for someone to get into your tent while you sleep and while I’m not the heaviest sleeper I don’t think my reaction time would be fast enough to defend myself.

    • @TalonSei
      @TalonSei  Год назад +6

      It’s not something I ever worry about. I typically camp pretty far off the beaten path so seeing other people while at a spot is not common.

      Buy the super small s carabiners with the little lock and put them on the zippers. It’s slow to place and remove and buys you reactionary time. Just look for little things that increase your reactionary gap that make you feel more comfortable.

      It's an unfounded fear.

      I think the fear is pretty common but also sort of irrational. In this case any way, just because it would be easier to do. doesn't mean it is more likely to happen. Go camping and rest easy.

    Or would you say the average camper that gets out like 10ish times a year would be happy enough with the Ammo can style campfires?

    • @TalonSei

    Most wildlife can climb ladders. So, while people "feel safer" in a RTT, they really aren't. Also, when out on a multi-day trip, a RTT is a pain in the ass because you can't just hop in your vehicle and take off. And then there's all that weight up top. It makes for an interesting experience when off-camber.
