An independent installations contractor says he was sad for those let go, & how, but understood that he & his peers would continue to be paid & supplied, PLUS new contractors and site owners, such as Walmart & "transitioning" BP, etc., gas stations, were already being scheduled for taking over from the old team's expansion projects. Also, that the "pudding proof" of the new deployment process would sooner than later suffice as "explanation" much better than Tesla attempting to convince the already doubting public of the veracity of their new approach.
As an investing enthusiast, I've kept aside a good sum of capital to invest for financial independence and early retirement, but my concern right now is the market rally being propaganda. Is this a good time to buy stocks, or do I wait for the crash?
The stock market can appear as a bewildering cauldron of fake news for new investors. I would advise using a CFP, giving him/her 2/3, and then investing the 1/3 on your own, but only if you have time to track stocks and educate yourself.

In no order: 1) VOO 2) QQQM 3) SCHG/VUG 4) VTI 5) SCHD/DGRO. Personally I put down 1.3m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. it was this time last year I made my first million with a liquid 200k.handed it to a trader here in CA, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. Tesla will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.

I was part of the recent layoffs at twitter and this bites hard. Grateful that I kept some savings about 600k tho! Now I am looking for ways to invest this into the stock market to generate good dividends to supplement for my monthly expenses.
you need a certified financial planner straight up! personally, I invest in ETF's and also love investing in individual stocks. yes it’s riskier but am comfortable in my financial environment

After aaaaaall that I got the hot seat and I’m not gonna lie very salty. But I won’t bad mouth Tesla. I obviously have a lot a lot of insight on sales service and delivery to bad mouth but this company changed my life and provided life changing opportunities.
Hopefully one day I get to come back into leadership again or space x I am still a Elon supporter but holy S!!T Tesla team must pull up their own boot straps and stop cutting corners. Tesla is a growth company that isn’t growing. They have lost ground to the competition- and the stock price has to be adjusted down to reality. The stock price has a long way to go

Not bad compared to the 90% layoff at Twitter! 10% will streamline the company but disrupts those affected. Never good to lose a job. Tesla employees shouldn’t have any trouble finding a job. Wish them the best. Tesla grew quickly, impossible to make good hires that fit well on every team every time. I’m sure many are burnt out.
They were probably mostly people with poor attendance, problematic issues and bad performance records. They get two months pay because it’s a lay off, not a firing.

The ones I know of had those issues. I can’t speak about the billionaires. Everyone got a severance, though.

Drew is worth at least $30 million, paid best part of 2-3 million a year, on average, in salary/stock. I wouldn't cry leaving in my early 40's a multi-millionaire who doesn't need to work again if he doesn't want to. I say well done to him and thanks for all you've done.
Since being SVP and publicly disclosing stock sale he has made 96 MILLION $ - at a baseline - Life is short, he has left a legacy already, family wont be around forever - time spent with them is priceless. Chapeaux.
Uggg! I don’t follow sports anymore, but Tesla loosing superstars is as painful to me as major league teams loosing their key players. However, I worked long hours under sustained pressure for many years and loved the challenge, but there does come a time when you can’t spool up for the next sustained push and the time comes to pull the rip cord. Everyone has to deal with that reality. Tesla has such a deep lineup of superstars that when one, regrettably, reaches that point, there is a reasonable chance that they have been grooming their replacement along the way. Nonetheless, they will all be greatly missed when that cord is eventually liberated. 😢😢😢

I used to work at Tesla. It sounds exactly like 2019 when 10,000 people were let off, fortunately TESLA makes a great compensation when they leave and pays them for three months gives them healthcare for three months as well as stocks. I wish I still worked there it’s great to hear that. I know these people will be taken care of the same way. Most companies cannot do that or will not do that anymore.

bruv, use your noodle; the thought to leave didn't occur to him the same day he notified Tesla.
…I can imagine that give the progress of v12 FSD, and the Reuter’s report from a couple of weeks ago (and similar rumors), that Elon wants to bet the farm on autonomy while other leadership is saying that’s not the right move. Elon can be overly optimistic. Maybe he thinks robotaxis be ready to launch very soon while other might think it’s still years away.
If you read the Issacson book you’ll know that Elon can make abrupt changes in plans. That could be upsetting to people, especially if you think it’s the wrong move.
People do leave jobs abruptly. I can imagine that if Baglino didn’t like the path Tesla is heading and he already had $100M in the bank he might not have wanted to put up with Elon any longer.

Also there will be no usefull Tesla-bot. For a lot of reasons, the simplest is that battery time is loughable short on a humanoid robot. Battery technology is simply not there for the next couple of years.
