I bought this a year ago, just now setting it up. Was completely lost by the vague instructions, the website wasn't much better. Watched this video thru once, had to check 3 times....fantastic! Great video, details, camera work and delivery
Extremely helpful. I was considering hiring someone to install this mount for my new TV, but after watching this video I feel quite confident. Thank you for posting this.
I bought this mount from Costco yesterday. I like the way you explained the way the TV attaches to the pull out arms. The instructions that come with the mount do not explain this very well. It is amazing how you must tighten down (4) 3 1/2 inch lag bolts into studs, but the whole mechanism depends on that little 3/8 inch locking screw. Thank you for not glossing past these little details that mean so much. Nice work Sir.
it's a piece of shit, it was discontinued and the new one is useless too I got this at Costco, about a week later it was discontinued and replaced with a new model the one I got had a broken wall plate right out of the box ,the vertical bars on the wall plate are made of all plastic and it's very flimsy cheap and thin , Sanus sent me another wall plate but then when I went to the store I noticed that this mount was no longer being sold and that they had a new model in its place with almost the same exact number, the Costco item number was the same I think but the Sanus model number was different the new one says extends 28 inches from the wall as opposed to the old one saying only 26, the new mount plate has metal vertical bars on the wall plate not plastic and it's much sturdier, the new one glides much better and the new one has 2 scissors as opposed the 3 arm design and they are very deep pocketed for cable management ,much deeper pockets than the expensive model at best buy has however the pipe parts are too narrow to fit the plug from my LG C1 55" through , I will have to unscrew the the plate on the back of the TV where the plug goes in and unplug the internal power cord connector and route that end through because the outlet plug won't fit through , both the old and new model suck and are not even useable to me at all though because of the piss poor design of the wall plates , they really fucked up bad here all holes miss the mark , the farthest away holes still do not reach the studs and just miss them by a cunt hair on each side , seriously WTF! would it have fucking killed them to make this piece of shit an inch and a half longer and put holes with a little more room , I don't know what the hell these people are thinking but my only options now are to remove the end caps which double as hinges to hold the rail covers and drill 4 holes on the ends so the lag bolts can fit through, my C1 OLED weight is 42lbs w/o stand I think , not sure if this will be safe ,I could also drill out the center marker hole on the top and put a 5th lag bolt in the middle there because it should line up with my center stud if I drill holes on the very ends of the wall plate, but for $150 I should not have to be doing this shit, FFS, GET IT TO-FUCKING -GETHER SANUS !
@@richman117 just watch the video! He does a perfect job! The big thing is getting into the studs! I got one side, then used the molly bolts for the other side! I did both solo…but another set of hands would make everything much easier! Good luck!
Just mounted my TV using this video almost exclusively, and it went smoothly, as someone who's not experienced with DIY. Sturdy & looks great. Thanks so much! Highly recommend to other folks :) Definotely more helpful than the instruction manual that came with the booklet alone (and probably more helpful than that booklet period, tbh)
@@BTheInstaller the mount sucks, they fucked up on the hole spacing big time I can not use this mount because it is off by just one inch on each side for max hole space if only they had a brain and made holes 1" father apart on each side it could have been used the new model at Costco is a bit different but still has the same useless hole spacing on the wall plate which at least is all metal this time and doesn't have the cheap plastic vertical rails I am sure you have seen it , it has hinged rail covers ,it comes out 28 inches not 26, has 2 scissors not the tri fold arms . if I unscrew the rail end caps that double as hinges for the rail covers the holes in the metal tabs/rail ends where the end caps screw into will fit over the holes in my wall from my old stationary mount but those holes are too small for the lag bolts to fit through unless I drill them out , do you think it would be safe to drill out those holes so the lags bolts will fit through and use those and also drill out the up orientation hole wider to fit a lag bolt it would work, I think I can hit the center stud with that center "up" hole ,so 5 lags bolts one on each of the 4 corners extended beyond the provided oval holes and one in the middle on the top rail the TV is 42 or 43 Lbs ,a C1 OLED 55" or do you have any other ideas on how to get this to work where the holes are just one each short of the studs on each side , besides opening up the wall and bolting 2x4 blocks to the studs? This thing really just sucks I can't believe Sanus was too stupid to just provide a longer wall mount in the first place, especially since they just totally redesigned the thing , how could they miss this glaring oversight or do they just want us to buy the $350 model from BB if that one can even be mounted at all either I don't know, but it looks like the plate on that one is 33" and this one is only 28" going by overall width description specs which doesn't specify the max distance for wall mount holes that I can see, I imagine the expensive one has wider maximum hole spacing on the wall plate , do you know if the arm on this new model is compatible with any other wider Sanus wall plates? maybe I could get them to send me another wall plate that is 2" longer that this war can work with , but this is just a horrible design missing the mark by just 1" on each side
I've only installed one wall mount. It was back in 2012. I pretty much followed the instructions from sanus. I actually removed the paneling from the wall, since I live in a older house. I wanted to see exactly how many and where the studs were positioned. I wound up reinforcing the studs, as I didn't want any weak links. I also made sure my lags were going in the studs dead center. Fast forward 11 years, and now I have a new Samsung s95b 65 inch. I'm pretty sure that the old mount isn't going to work. I'll probably be sticking with the sanus brand. I know I'll be needing some help as the TV is already mounted on the stand. Nice to see you point out the leveling screw issue. Almost seems like an afterthought at sanus. I like the sanus vlf 628 full motion.
I installed to 2 different tvs this week following these instructions on 2 different mounts and it was easy using this video Now I'm going to install my 70" TV and I'm not anticipating any problems using B The Installer
Happy Holidays! Just wanted to leave a comment and say THANK YOU! I just mounted an 82" inch Samsung tv in my living room! This video pretty much taught me everything!
The instructions included with the mount used pictures only. I never could have installed myself if I didn't find this video. My only hiccup was having to use the largest spacers because of electrical on the wall. The lag bolts went all the way in but didn't grab. I mounted the TV anyway because it's a 65' that only weighs 42 lb, on the lightest side of what the mount was designed to hold. So far so good!
Not sure how that worked. The long lag bolts should absolutely grab or it's unlikely you hit the stud. The drywall is only 3/4" at most. 4" inch bolts hit hard
Thank you so much for this. I watched, then rewatched as I went along. Mounted it today. TV tomorrow after the electrician comes to add a receptacle. Well done!
I just put one of these up for a client yesterday. You're right, those four allen head screws that hold the arm are a bear. Found on the one that I was doing that the top two holes had a bit of paint overspray in them. After a few frustrating attempts I took down the arm and threaded the screws through (in just the arm) to break away the paint residue. A little WD40 would have helped as well. I'd recommend this step for all four to make sure they aren't going to give you any resistance when you go to install the arm on the mount. There is very little room to line up the screw and I'd also recommend what you did, is get on a step ladder so you can see down from the top which enables you to line up the slot in the mount with the screw hole. Trying to to just do these by feel is a nightmare. Also with a higher up view you can see the alignment for the bottom screws as well and adjust the arm mount accordingly. Then it was a breeze!
Excellent video. The only thing I had to do was to modify where the bottom edge of the TV would reach. This was because I was mounting over a fireplace and also wanted the bottom edge of the TV to clear the fireplace mantle when pushed back against the wall and also wanted the TV to extend out away from the wall and tilt downwards. So I used your measurement guide in the video and added 6" to the height of the mount location to compensate for the 6" from the mounting bracket on back of Tv to the bottom edge. This worked out perfectly. Another comment, I have in the past broken a bolt head putting it into the 2 x 4. This is due to the pilot hole being drilled not as deep as the length of the bolt so the last 1/2 to 1" as to drive into solid wood. It's best to drill a nice long pilot hole. To remove a lag bolt into wood that has a broken head, I found the only solution is to use a small drill bit and drill along the lag bolt into the wood at like the 12/3/6/9 positions around the bolt and then you should be able to apply enough grip and torque to remove it. Then fill the hole in the 2 x 4 with wood filler.
Thanks so much for posting this video! I ordered this from Amazon yesterday, so I’m looking forward to getting it now. Your instructions really made the install that much less intimidating, thank you for that. 👍🏼
Excellent installation. It is a great teaching tool to explain all the steps. The bonus was seeing that the support load test exceeded the manufacturer's requirements with you hanging from it - lol :-). Greetings from Brazil!
very helpful. minor differences in how the VESA bracket seats on the wall mount (spring-loaded catch). Combined w/Sanus videos and instructions got a perfectly-level setup first go. Was about 1/2" lower than my target height, so best to measure EXACTLY where the hanging pont is, or err on the side of being 1/2" or so higher than perfect 🙂
THANK YOU for posting this. I had lost the install manual and template and was happy to find your video. You helped make the job super easy with your great step by step instructions. Cheers!
Waaaayyy good. Thanks. Only thing I did different, because you said it was difficult. I tried to screw one mounting bracket screw in. It wouldnt go. So I pulled it down, and did them in and out, of all 4, before I putt it on the wall. It would have been a bear otherwise. They didn't have the holes tapped out well enough. They didn't strip(although it seemed they would when it was so hard to start them)and it worked good.

I've watched a lot of your install video's now (debating wall mounting my 65") and they are great. You do a great job and explaining what you're up to. One favour....please please please remember to actually link your stud finding video that you've referenced in most of your install videos lol. Cheers! 😁
Thanks for the Video, I installed the whole thing through this video. Great job of explaining everything . And yes that last part with those 4 little screws was terrible, I kept dropping them. lol
The SANUS website has a height finder, you tell it which SANUS mount you have, what television you have and how high off the floor you want the top or bottom of the television and it tells you exactly were to locate the bracket. The dust pan trick is really nice!
Yeah the Sanus website is so overly complex, it's sort of funny. But if it helps people... however there is variation on heights above and beyond their attempts on that site. Just do the math as shown. Have a good one
Hi there thanks for sharing great tutorial. I have a quick question re you able to mount the TV without the extendable arm? I just want the TV to stay flat on the wall. Thanks in advance for your response.
Thank you so much for the video. I have a question. If I’m trying to center the mount I won’t be able to align the screws with holes of the plate, also it looks like only one stud can hit the one of the holes at once. Please let me know what I should do
Wow! Just like that! Very UNcomplicated instructions! U ROCK! 👏👏 Going ahead with install NOW! Thank you for sharing! SUBBED! Greetings from Salem, Oregon! 🌲🌲
Would it be a problem if you only put the top two bolts in the wall (brick) to secure the wall plate? I’m in a rental and there are already two bolts in the wall but I can’t add more.
If this is your jobz would it be easier to get an angled adapter for your drill so you can still use the hex screw with the drill. Milwaukee has and so do other brands
Thanks. Yeah I had forgotten I hung on it but the editor and I figured if someone was watching that far in, it might be funny. Check out new hiding wires video.
Do you ever install mounts in RV's or semi truck sleepers? I think I need to just use bolts as the walls of semi sleepers and RV's are thinner have no studs and are much more flimsy. Any suggestions? Or experience with this type of wall mounting. Thanks new sub
I am planning to get a 75" LG. I want a wall mount with full articulation (forwards and backwards, L or R, up or down). What would you recommend? Thanks!
Great Video, wish you had done it for my new TV that isn't mounted in the center but the bottom, LG OLED 65C9, Wondering why not put the 4 annoying bolts in Before you put up the frame? Will be heavier yes but the unit will be installed complete.
We have a C9 video install. ruclips.net/video/HIjjeR3JR1c/видео.html Also, yes it's both heavy and it is difficult to properly center the tv if you put on the arm before you secure the wall plate. Thanks
Thank you for the informative video. Would you kindly advise the difference between the Sanus SLF226-B1 and the Sanus BLF328-B1. The price is more than double but it seems like both mounts are acceptable for a 75" TV. And your video certainly demonstrates the SLF model works fine for a 75" TV.
Great video! Question for you. I believe my wall space (5” wide with windows on either side) only has two vertical studs about 3” apart. Is it safe to drill additional holes into the wall plate (essentially dead center) so that I can hit both of these studs?
Good video. Sanus website says I can use the SLF226-B1 mount with my LG65UK6090PUA, however, the bottom screw holes for the horizontal bracket are directly in line with plug and video/audio outputs. Will this mount actually work with this TV and, if so, do you have a corresponding video or am I out of luck? Thanks
Hi B, I just purchased myself a LG Nano 90 65” I will be mounting it onto a insulated drywall with a brick wall behind it. Which mount should I got for the Sanus VLF 728 or the SLF 226? I just dont want the arms to start sagging over a while and for the adjustment tension knob to be strong as I heard alot of TV brackets have an issue with their tension knob where the TV starts to face downwards. You’re expert opinion would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Thanks B - this is all I think I need. Can I ask you how much cutting depth is on your drill bit for the lag bolts for drilling the 2 x 4 studs? Seems like an extra long is needed, but I wasn't sure if normal cutting depth with extension would suffice or whether to find one that has longer than standard cutting depth
Thank-you for this video! It is extremely helpful. I do have a question. I am attempting to screw in the top and bottom mounting plates to a SONY 75X950H and when I use the M6 X 20, the horizontal plate has a bit of play (not snug) and when I use the M6 X 12 the horizontal plate is snug. Is it okay to use use M6 X 12 even though it's almost half the size? I don't want it to not be sturdy enough. SANUS provides a 5MM spacer. Is it supposed to be used with the M6 X 20? Thank you in advance!

Perfect thanks, I have 2 to install for a customer tomorrow!!! Really appreciate it!
Outstanding job ! Made my install SOO much easier . Thanks for your expertise !
Just watched your instructions as I installed at you were spot on with tiny screws and problem solving. Outstanding
Not the first time installing it, lol. Thanks.
Excellent video, installed this on my patio yesterday and your video helped. I feel like I owe you some $$$!
Thank you very much for the tutorial! my first time with a 90 pound tv. I had to he man it up to get it on the hook but i made it! Thank a bunch!!!
I just instaled one and i made it tha same as your thank you for showing how it's done
Appreciate you B!!! Thank you for all you do for us in the community! This video was very helpful. 👍
Just used your video as a step-by-step...thanks so much! Subscribed.
Such a great video!! Saved my boyfriend and I so much money. Keep posting!!
I’ve been holding off doing this for months. I watched ur video and nailed it first time.
Thank you sir!!
Just had to mount one of these for my mother in law 😅 your video saved my ass lol thanks brother
Mounted a 70 inch TV yesterday using this tutorial! Awesome instructions 😎 and awesome step by step directions. TV and mount look great and totally made me feel confident.. Thanks dude!, subscribed!
🙏
Thanks for the video! Throwing up a 70 inch today 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Precise, concise. Excellent instruction.thanks ,
Joe
I got this at Costco, about a week later it was discontinued and replaced with a new model
the one I got had a broken wall plate right out of the box ,the vertical bars on the wall plate are made of all plastic and it's very flimsy cheap and thin , Sanus sent me another wall plate but then when I went to the store I noticed
that this mount was no longer being sold and that they had a new model in its place with almost the same exact number, the Costco item number was the same I think but the Sanus model number was different
the new one says extends 28 inches from the wall as opposed to the old one saying only 26, the new mount plate has metal vertical bars on the wall plate not plastic and it's much sturdier, the new one glides much better and the new one has 2 scissors as opposed the 3 arm design and they are very deep pocketed for cable management ,much deeper pockets than the expensive model at best buy has
however the pipe parts are too narrow to fit the plug from my LG C1 55" through , I will have to unscrew the the plate on the back of the TV where the plug goes in and unplug the internal power cord connector and route that end through because the outlet plug won't fit through , both the old and new model suck and are not even useable to me at all though because of the piss poor design of the wall plates , they really fucked up bad here
all holes miss the mark , the farthest away holes still do not reach the studs and just miss them by a cunt hair on each side , seriously WTF! would it have fucking killed them to make this piece of shit an inch and a half longer and put holes with a little more room , I don't know what the hell these people are thinking but my only options now are to remove the end caps which double as hinges to hold the rail covers and drill 4 holes on the ends so the lag bolts can fit through, my C1 OLED weight is 42lbs w/o stand I think , not sure if this will be safe ,I could also drill out the center marker hole on the top and put a 5th lag bolt in the middle there because it should line up with my center stud if I drill holes on the very ends of the wall plate, but for $150 I should not have to be doing this shit, FFS, GET IT TO-FUCKING -GETHER SANUS !
Thanks bro, I wasn’t able to figure out how to make it go lower
Thank you so much! My first time installing a mount. And I'm not 100 percent confident. But it's in place. And seems to be supporting...lol.
Hang off it first.
I've watched a lot of your install video's now (debating wall mounting my 65") and they are great. You do a great job and explaining what you're up to. One favour....please please please remember to actually link your stud finding video that you've referenced in most of your install videos lol. Cheers! 😁
Best video for sanus tv mounting
Thank you, well done! Clear and easy to follow demonstration.
Thanks for the Video, I installed the whole thing through this video. Great job of explaining everything . And yes that last part with those 4 little screws was terrible, I kept dropping them. lol
Glad it helped. Did you hang off the mount? Lol
B The Installer lol no I didn’t go that far but my 70 inch Samsung is hanging just fine
I just finished my tv mount installation you are the best thank you very much:)
Glad I could help
Great video man! You saved me a lot of headache trying to read the instructions.
👌👈
The SANUS website has a height finder, you tell it which SANUS mount you have, what television you have and how high off the floor you want the top or bottom of the television and it tells you exactly were to locate the bracket. The dust pan trick is really nice!
Yeah the Sanus website is so overly complex, it's sort of funny. But if it helps people... however there is variation on heights above and beyond their attempts on that site. Just do the math as shown. Have a good one
You are awesome..reffered a couple times to this while installing.. super handy vid man!!
Awesome, thank you!
EXCELLENT VIDEO! You really do a great job explaining all the details. Thanks....🤪
Hi there thanks for sharing great tutorial. I have a quick question re you able to mount the TV without the extendable arm?
I just want the TV to stay flat on the wall. Thanks in advance for your response.
Excellent video! Appreciate you making this video. Sanus... Has very confusing instructions- they should license your video!!!
Great video well done. Very informative step by step.
Not like others with annoying music.
🙏
I love the dust pan to catch debris.
Great video. Have you installed wall mount brackets/TV's into walls with galvanized metal studs? Would love to see how that is done right.
Thanks.
Use toggle bolts through the metal stud flange.
Great video. Have you mounted a sanus mount along with the sanus sonos arc mount?
Very informational video -- how do you mount a TV on a concrete wall?
Thank you so much for the video. I have a question. If I’m trying to center the mount I won’t be able to align the screws with holes of the plate, also it looks like only one stud can hit the one of the holes at once. Please let me know what I should do
Wow! Just like that! Very UNcomplicated instructions! U ROCK! 👏👏 Going ahead with install NOW! Thank you for sharing! SUBBED!
Greetings from Salem, Oregon! 🌲🌲
Great Tutorial. Is it safe to mount a 50" TV on dry wall with wooden Studds?
On studs or just to the drywall only? You typically don't want to mount on drywall alone but the goal on any install is to attach to the studs.
Thanks so much for this video! You make it look easy!
Great video. I’m installing this now and this really helped
10:20 hahah. Another solid tutorial mate !
We have a C9 video install. ruclips.net/video/HIjjeR3JR1c/видео.html
Also, yes it's both heavy and it is difficult to properly center the tv if you put on the arm before you secure the wall plate.
Superb presentation. Thank you so much!!🙏🙏🤠🤠😊😊
Thanks
Thank you so much... clearly explained each steps
Nice video! Thanks for sharing! Qq, did you face a situation where the studs available were 33” apart? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!
Good video. Will this work on LG65 C1 which is vesa 300 x 200? And does it block any ports at all?
nice work ...... is this model the recommend tv mount?
The way the LG C1 tv backs are designed it kind of changes the game. Will these mounts adjust accordingly to mount these sets ?
Thanks for your help. It was very helpful.
Is the better to use a drill driver for the lag bolts or an impact driver? You have the best tv mount instructions vids
Good job .. bypassing the template is a nice tip.. really nice vid!!
Good deal.
Cheers mate installed mine well easy after your vid
Was about to give up on mounting this myself but this video took me through it! Thanks B!
Awesome.
Excellent job thanks for all the help!!
Great Video B!
A little out of focus there at the end. But a GREAT video. Thanks bro!
Have you installed this model into metal studs? I have the same mount for a basement remodel. Thanks!
