Great video Mark❗️I had a problem almost the same as your several years ago and I worked on it for hours and hours and finally found that the ignition switch worked fine when I just turned it on and kicked started it but when I turned it on and tried to start it the ignition switch shorted out. I couldn’t get a new switch so I rewired it to a toggle switch for ignition on and off and a push button fir the starter and it’s still working 7 years later. ❗️👍✅
lol they really are funny odd little mopeds that drive you mad , it can be something as simple as that or something you will never find most seem to think a new cdi will sort it but as I had the buyer wanting it back he was happy with just the kick start and I didn't want to put more hours trying to trace it so it went back to him as is and 3 weeks later it runs like a dream think i'll stick to 2t and big bikes lol, take care mike
I've been working on a v clic (Pain in the arse) I went through everything. Tested everything and still had starting issues. Id turn the ignition on, turn it over and it wouldn't fire up straight away but if you turned the key and leave it alone for a minute it would fire first time. Although the cdi came up good on the multimeter I ordered a new one and now it starts on the button everytime straight away. Cracking vids Mark, thank you 👍
I have a vivacity 50 that wouldn't start with the electric starter but would kick start fine, it turned the starter motor wires were reversed in the connector, swapped them round now works fine. Probably not that simple but thought I'd mention it. Although I'm in my mid 40s im only been riding bikes for 10 months when i got the vivacity it was giving me a lot of grief was about to scrap it then found your videos, it runs sweet now i love riding it. Thank you for making these videos they've been a great help.

It's also a good idea to check out the battery connectors. They may seem perfectly clean on the outside but as I found out, the wire within the crimped joint can corrode causing a high resistance and stopping the current from being enough to use the electric starter even though everything else appears to be working OK. It took me ages to figure it out. All I had to do was cut off the old terminals, strip the wire back to clean copper and crimp on two new terminals. Works like new now! This is on a 2001 Peugeot Elyseo 100cc. (No kill or side stand switches!)
Hi mark Would you happen to know if they changed mounting holes for the front brake caliper for the vivacity from 2001 to 2011..or if v clic ones fit ..need a new caliper, can only find 2002 v clic or vc ..good vids btw
Hi Mark you have some brilliant video’s out there. I recently got a vclic and been doing it up. Thanks for all the tit bits. For info those bloody wires dangling are because Peugeot decided to add a heater to the carb in the later models (2012-2014?) and rather than doing something to cover them someone has simply left them dangling when installing a generic carb 😂 Going to kill off my kill switch tomorrow, been planned for a while but now I know which wire to chop! Thanks. Incidentally my electrics aren’t working quite yet more diagnosing to do, felt I needed to get her running by the kick first so which way does the kill switch sit at when normal, do you flick it over to the X to kill it as I assume as I can’t find this anywhere and would help!! Also the CDI is AC and DC and a battery is required to operate - even on kick which it took me some time to work thru to 🙄😂
I was told cutting the kill swith messes with the electric start !! Just a thought but my messed about way before I cut it lol No sorry bud I don't as I was more 2t fixer I've have a few 4t mopeds and for some reason they run one day and the next won't then nothing touched and they run again Go figure lol Any way thanks for the wire update Always good to know I often get asked about the speedfight blue plug and that was for the lc but they just had one loom and used it for the ac But live and learn Take care bud and Happy new year
Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to find the wiring diagram but the only place available is in the Haynes Manual supposedly and I’m not buying one of those just for that! I’ll leave the kill switch alone for now then 😂 The kill on the side stand is routed out already, may or may not bring that back in when I work out the actual issue. There’s a coupling at the front and rear of the wiring loom that are not connected to anything, thinking perhaps running lights on European models or something which a pretty diagram would confirm whether I need something on the end of them or not! Peugeot have been little buggers making things ever so different to other chinese peds. Thanks for your time. Happy New Year!

That's not the original carb. Those two dangly wires are for a heater for really cold weather. Just protect them from moisture, and tie them out of the way. That angled vent pipe shouldn't affect anything, as it is just for the belt-drive cover. There is another vent at the back. It's just to cool the clutch, and variable drives.
i would have to say face book or e bay bud inform in the ad all you have done to it and how it runs ,good points and any bad! or they will just come and mess you around loads of pics bud
Those two wires not connected to anything are for a pre heating element built into some of the carbs , I think it was an option depending on where in the world the bikes were sold, I took my bargain v -clic up to knights for MOT last week and it wouldn't restart , turned out to be a dirty connection on the CDI , Frame earth points are always worth taking off and cleaning , and not forgetting valve clearances which are notorious for causing starting issues

I had the 'starts on kick, barely on Elec starter, problem' on my 2T bike. Well.. I swapd the exhaust for a sports pipe. And for some weird reason. The Elec starter have been starting the bike ever since with just a Quick press? 🤔
If you disconnect the fuel line on the vclic. Is it supposed to leak fuel? Mine does and i was under the impressiom it was a vacume system? Is the petcock knackerd? Im used to having to suck on a vacum pipe to draw fuel. Any help appreciated
Hello mate! I really like ur videos and you've been really helpful. I've just bought a 2008 speedfight 2 and changed the head and piston cuz it had a scored piston and head. Did replace theese but now the bike wont start. The engine will turn over and the moped does start for about 3 seconds when i spray it with start gas, but then it dies again and wont start. Do you have any clue what i shuld check or what the problem can be?
Was it running before ? Could be reeds or oil crank seals Have you done the carb wet hand test like in mt videos ? You have got the piston right way round ? And pipes in ok , vacuum working ?

Hi Mark, I have a 2012 v clic that ticks over but wont start. Notice the fuel filter has what looks like fuel in it, could this be the problem. Has decent batter, new carb, new spark plug, new ignition coil. Been stored 3 months unused. Dose have full tank fresh fuel in yesterday. Any help would be great and appreciated. Many thanks Andrew.

Hey Mark you cannot just leave the little Scoot without electric start....Get the test meter out. Is there a voltage to the starter motor when the button is pressed...No Work back from there.

as i all ways say kids just put big bore kits on but dont upgrade anything to take the power like crankshaft ,carb , exhaust and everything then they dont know why it dont run right :D yes i all ways do big bore kits but i do the full engine build with upgraded parts and see i said on the last video dont do it as its a 4t but you did and look where it go you :D
Hi mark on my Peugeot ludix 50 elegance I've had a new piston new starter relay and cleaned out carb and new throttle cable the bike starts but cuts right out any idea on what this could be please
I take it was ok before and you changed the piston ? why did you do that ? cleaning the carb will always be a good thing just make sure you cleaned it out right and i'd take it back off and re -do it just to make sure there are lots of thing you can not do right when changing the piston but most can be corrected piston in right , arrow to the exhaust port sump cleaned out and any bits out water or air? head down right way with the bolts carb back on right id just go over everything and sometimes it just takes it to get going to run right
Dont know if this helps i had very very similar on my chinese gy6 50cc last sat wouldnt start for love nor money when warm and replaced the cdi coil with lead and a ngk plug and transformed it now starts on the button everytime, just need to sort the eratic idle out
Yea i thought it might be the relay again due to the electric start earthing But also may have damaged the cdi But still kick starts first time everytime !! Go figure and its been starting every day for the last 2 weeks ! They drive me mad lol

I’ve got one of these bikes, 2008 version. Absolute shite. Does for a cheap get around, but they’re not very good at all. Nothing like the speed fighter. My starter motor gear somehow fell out 😂 it still started electronically. I have since put this back in. Mines got a new carb, but it’s awful. Can’t wait to get an upgrade
@@marksavage look at my channels when you get a chance. Uploaded a video of how mine runs. Learning with this thing as can’t afford to pay someone to do it or buy a new bike. Bought with no knowledge on bikes at all. Made new friends. One is a hgv mechanic who buys non running bikes and mopeds and he gets them running. Etc. and my brothers a mechanic. So I’ve had some guidance. But I’ve also learnt so much myself. Watched your videos they’ve helped me a lot. So any feedback I can get would be amazing. I can’t lie this little things got me into bikes and fixing them up. Now considering buying a bike and doing it up and then selling it and see how it goes.
To be honest they just do !, sometimes it's an earth problem. I wouldn't worry to much I used to wd40 all connection and check steering around where the wires are
Hello mate. I have v clic. I cut the green wire in cdi and then it ran like crap. Replace cdi 3 times and it still runs like crap. No speed or accelaration. Replaced carb. Plug. Still same problem. Any suggestions
So you only cut the green wire , which I say everytime not to lol And then it ran bad Could you not just reconnect it rather than replace ? What happen just after you cut it and why the green wire ? Does it start Rev up on the stand To be honest like in my video ,I had loads of problems with mine No spark etc You could have fused the loom Stator , coil or anything just cutting wires bud Me id go with two ideas now One save time and sell it !!! Or all panel off , trace all wires to where they all go Replace ht coil Test stator Put back old carb Check volt regulator And many hours or work to try and see whats gone on
@@marksavage cut the green loop to derestrict it . Wish i never touched it. Its goes and revs on stand but once on road terrible pull away and max speed is 22mph.. Ive changed spark. Carb. Cdi 3 xtimes. Clean air filter. Check variator as well . All clean.
Hi, I need some help, I've hit a curveball with my Peugeot Vivacity, It Just won't start and burn petrol, It will start for 3 seconds with Starter fluid and then start, I've changed the Petrol Tap, changed the carburettor bowl, cleaned it all out, im going to put the original top of the carburettor back on tomorrow as it ran with that on before, (In June). Ive got the Haynes Manual and i've done almost everything and it won't go, Ive chaged Spark Plugs blown through the pipes to and from the carburettor made sure that there is a hole in the top of the fuel filler cap. Please Help me Mark you're my only hope!
Worse case ! Crank seals !!! This often happens with a ped that will start for a few secs and stall You've check the reeds Wet hand test? But give the carb a clean service If you have a good clean blue spark then electrics are all good
@@marksavage Can you remind me what the wet hand test is? I haven't had the crank case off would that still affect the seals. The Scooter will only run off of Starting fluid would that affect the things you've mentioned
@@dwr-cchs7724 put your hand over the open side of the carb , air filter off Turn over the bike and see if your hand gets wet with fuel If not it can be your reeds open or the seals gone so it won't sick the fuel in Sometimes there's signs of leak on either side so varoator or stator side
so uhh. I have a peugeot speedfight 2 50cc AC and it get like two sparks and stops, and i turn keys off and back on try start it the same thing two sparks. I have watches every speedfight videos you have still nothing works.

it could be a few things bud but start with a service , plug air filter and a carb service like in my videos

You will have to drill off the top them mull grip the bolt out after but if its only one or two it will be fine to leave it

Dont know if this helps i had very very similar on my chinese gy6 50cc last sat wouldnt start for love nor money when warm and replaced the cdi coil with lead and a ngk plug and transformed it now starts on the button everytime, just need to sort the eratic idle out
Yea i thought it might be the relay again due to the electric start earthing
But also may have damaged the cdi
But still kick starts first time everytime !!
Go figure and its been starting every day for the last 2 weeks !

Thats exactly what mine was doing randomly and a cdi with matching coil and lead was £9.99 from ebay

They are designed to run on standard carb, air box and exhaust.

I’ve got one of these bikes, 2008 version. Absolute shite. Does for a cheap get around, but they’re not very good at all. Nothing like the speed fighter. My starter motor gear somehow fell out 😂 it still started electronically. I have since put this back in. Mines got a new carb, but it’s awful. Can’t wait to get an upgrade

@@marksavage look at my channels when you get a chance. Uploaded a video of how mine runs. Learning with this thing as can’t afford to pay someone to do it or buy a new bike. Bought with no knowledge on bikes at all. Made new friends. One is a hgv mechanic who buys non running bikes and mopeds and he gets them running. Etc. and my brothers a mechanic. So I’ve had some guidance. But I’ve also learnt so much myself. Watched your videos they’ve helped me a lot. So any feedback I can get would be amazing. I can’t lie this little things got me into bikes and fixing them up. Now considering buying a bike and doing it up and then selling it and see how it goes.

To be honest they just do !, sometimes it's an earth problem. I wouldn't worry to much
I used to wd40 all connection and check steering around where the wires are

Hello mate. I have v clic. I cut the green wire in cdi and then it ran like crap. Replace cdi 3 times and it still runs like crap. No speed or accelaration. Replaced carb. Plug. Still same problem. Any suggestions
So you only cut the green wire , which I say everytime not to lol

You could have fused the loom
Stator , coil or anything just cutting wires bud
Me id go with two ideas now
One save time and sell it !!!
Or all panel off , trace all wires to where they all go
Replace ht coil
Test stator
Put back old carb
Check volt regulator
And many hours or work to try and see whats gone on
@@marksavage cut the green loop to derestrict it . Wish i never touched it. Its goes and revs on stand but once on road terrible pull away and max speed is 22mph..
Ive changed spark. Carb. Cdi 3 xtimes. Clean air filter.
Check variator as well . All clean.

Doesn't the kill switch also kill the electric start...does on my two bikes
It kills the spark but on these you can still try and start it and flood the bike !!!

Hi, I need some help, I've hit a curveball with my Peugeot Vivacity, It Just won't start and burn petrol, It will start for 3 seconds with Starter fluid and then start, I've changed the Petrol Tap, changed the carburettor bowl, cleaned it all out, im going to put the original top of the carburettor back on tomorrow as it ran with that on before, (In June). Ive got the Haynes Manual and i've done almost everything and it won't go, Ive chaged Spark Plugs blown through the pipes to and from the carburettor made sure that there is a hole in the top of the fuel filler cap.
Please Help me Mark you're my only hope!

@@marksavage Can you remind me what the wet hand test is? I haven't had the crank case off would that still affect the seals. The Scooter will only run off of Starting fluid would that affect the things you've mentioned
@@dwr-cchs7724 put your hand over the open side of the carb , air filter off
Turn over the bike and see if your hand gets wet with fuel
If not it can be your reeds open or the seals gone so it won't sick the fuel in
Sometimes there's signs of leak on either side so varoator or stator side
@@dwr-cchs7724 but if the carb is on right and you get a wet hand the seal should be fine but reeds can still mess about

so uhh. I have a peugeot speedfight 2 50cc AC and it get like two sparks and stops, and i turn keys off and back on try start it the same thing two sparks. I have watches every speedfight videos you have still nothing works.
