  • "When Chopin played the piano, it sometimes seemed like he was improvising - the epitome of freedom." Discover acclaimed pianist Beatrice Rana's album dedicated to this piano virtuoso: w.lnk.to/brcLY
After years spent developing her relationship to Chopin on the stage, Beatrice has taken to the studio to record his poetic Études Op. 25 and four evocative Scherzi. Both belong to musical genres that the composer, combining intellect and imagination, transformed into something new.

Oh my goodness, her right hand ‘accompaniment’ sounds so quiet and we hear more of her left hand, while the melody is always beautifully presented.
    What a genius interpretation!

We see that the Piano is a Steinway, and the registration studio have all sort of equipment (and so the registration quality is absolute whichever ampli and speaker i have tried), but probably we need to see those hands a lot more than cable and mic....Best rendition ever listen , really really impressive....

Très beau! Et le cadre dans lequel c'est filmé est original: il y a des matériels un peu partout, des câbles, des trépieds, qui semblent restreindre l'espace, le morceler, mais la musique transcende ces limites.

The technique to play this Etude is within the reach of a good pianist. It is important to avoid making it too "personal". By comparison, Ivan Moravec plays it with as much fine expression but without so much rubato and changes in dynamics, which can be a little irritating.
