This show was from the Tokyo leg of Lovebites' recently concluded "Judgement Day" tour in Japan. The entire concert was LIVE streamed (paid) to an international audience and this video was a fan's rip from that stream. As such, what you heard was raw with no post-production, and the band still sounded absolutely amazing ! SSS was the last song on the set (14th track, excluding 1 piano solo by Miyako and 1 drum solo by Haruna) before 3 further encores, which equated to a total of 17 actual songs in a nearly 2-hour concert.
I decided not to buy into it! The first concert on DVD/bluray was enough! I have seen enough and I hope they kick butt next year but I will not be attending any live concert. I have seen them twice and that is enough for me. At 62, I have a Bloodstock festival to go to and Sepultura with Jinjer also to attend! After which I will retire from concerts! 44 years in attendance I think I have seen enough 😎🤟

Probably their quickest and most "lunatic" song. 😂 All of them on the pinnacle of their perfomance. "All engines up and running at top speed", as to say. 😁 "Clockwork Lovebites" delivering again. 😁
Simply imagine, that I was no fan of Speed Metal at all, for 35 years of being a Metalhead. Then I got to know Lovebites. And I _love_ their high-paced songs (like this) as much as most of their others. 😊
As a confessing personal fan of Haruna (the drummer), I have to praise her for her outstanding performance once more, which is keeping this song together. Her relentless drumming even at insane speed is obvious. She keeps any pace, once given, for any song , at any length of any live show. If an eartquake should happen: "F*** the earthquake!" 😂 She won't change for anybody or anything. 😁 That fills me with awe. 🐺
SSS is Lovebites most impressive song. Miyako outdid herself. Another absolute masterpiece executed amazingly well.

Perhaps my favourite on Judgement Day. Normally I'm an "even better live" person, but I recommend you listen to the studio version on your own time. Like you said, it's so melodic despite being relentless.

15th & last song of the main-set, SSS begins after 80minutes of playing including Haruna's drum solo. 3minutes from end of SSS to begin 3-song, 19minute encore & 4minutes of unity-with and gratitude-for their audience. Phenomenal band, phenomenal performance.

I believe Miyako tried to take it a bit down on speed and melody to make it more "comfortable" for Asami and Haruna. But it didn't work, since it lost some of it's energy.
So they went with it... Still during the live-premiere-stream of the album, Miyako apologised to them. But love the rest too... the neo-classical guitarwork is sublime, and gives resemblance to Malmsteen etc..
Leave it to LOVEBITES to play their most challenging song as the very last song of the set before the encore. This is probably their fastest song in terms of speed, with Haruna needing to constantly do a double kick for its entire length. Asami has to hit her highest register of notes repeatedly, not just once or twice, but with every verse and every chorus, and Midori and Miyako have one of their fastest and most extensive guitar solos and harmonies while on complete opposite sides of the stage, making it even harder to be in sync because they can't see each other. And Fami gets a bass solo too. Poor Asami must have been worn out at this point. To hear this song's perfection I do recommend the studio version.
Haruna melts your face...then your heart. Amazing.❤

oh man, I was at that concert and it was mind-blowing. "just one of their songs" .. you are right, this was like song #16 in a row with hardly a break yet they play it as fresh as if it was the set opener!
I was always worried about this song live, but they nailed it. Great performance.
Unfortunately the video quality is low. The video does not convey all the beauty of this song and the magnificent playing of the musicians. The recording was made from a live broadcast of the LOVEBITES concert on YT . During recording from YT, the quality decreases. When the captured video is subsequently posted on YT, “compression” occurs. YT can do this to “save” space 🤬 When “compressed”, the quality of the picture and sound decreases compared to the source material. Plus, the loss of image and sound quality occurs when Reactors publish a reaction on their channel.
Result: Asami's voice stands out noticeably against the general background and in some places seems to be separated from the music. Guitars can be heard, but not clearly. Haruna's drums don't stand out well, unfortunately, they blend into the general background. Many nuances of Haruna’s magnificent playing “do not emerge.” The same can be said about Fami’s bass. It would be good if Reactors checked the original song (audio) from the Album immediately after this video. I think they would be much more impressed by Haruna's playing, Fami's bass, Midori and Miyako's guitars. As well as the song as a whole.
Asami's voice was strained at this point in the show too.
@@ChadTheDragonLord The reduction in recording quality due to compression also affected the audio of Asami's voice. But at least Asami was more or less audible, unlike, for example, Haruna’s drums and cymbals, the fullness of sounds of which was often lost against the general background. Including at the very beginning of the song. Haruna's work (drums and cymbals) on the original (Album) is superb.
Yes, some knowledgeable reactor said that Huruna is so efficient when playing drums. This song is just mesmerizing.

Great review. Yes Haruna doesn't make unnecessary move because naturally she has to push the freight train for a couple of hours, but that makes some UTube reactors misunderstand. Some reactors described her boring. I guess it is because she doesn't swing and banging around her head like crazy and gets her sweat and hair all over. Some people want just visual show and don't care about the sound. Those people complain about Lovebites' less animated performances and Miyako's cool expression. They want a show like Cirque du Soleil instead of a concert.

Miyako apologizing to Asami and Haruna for pushing them to the limit, what a crazy song.
The fact that fans keep claiming that there was a bad crowd here is very unfair. You have to consider that the hall was generously seated and there was no beer to buy on site. All bad conditions for the audience to get into the mood. Actually, you have to say that the people were still quite lively and in a good mood for these conditions.
The new LP contains 4 such absolute high speed songs and at this concert the women played all four of them:

95% of the fans had bet that this phenomenal live concert would be released on DVD for Christmas.

It would have made this year the perfect year for Lovebites, the most perfect come back I've ever seen. But it has to be said that 2023 was a great year for Lovebites.
The CD/DVD/Blu-ray of 'Knockin at Heaven's Gate - Part II' , which was recorded on March 12, 2023, was released for Christmas (December 20, 2023). There is no point in releasing two different concerts at the same time. Everything has its time. This concert will most likely be released in 2024. Possibly as a limited edition with the new LOVEBITES Album.🤗
If it takes alcohol to get into a good mood that is sad. I don't think the lack of beer had anything to do with it.

@@GrayFox14 Yes, I know that. I've ordered both the DVD and the CD of it. For us long-time fans, that's not an issue, especially if we come from wealthy countries.
But many fans from poorer countries or younger fans who are not yet earning so well couldn't order this time. Many of the songs on the DVD have already been sold 5 or 6 times over the years. If you don't have the money, you'll think twice about buying it ... The Lovebites women don't seem to be satisfied either.
If you have produced a lot of DVDs, you not only lose the profit from the unsold copies but also block existing capital for the items that have to be stored ...
@@ChadTheDragonLord Music is a pleasure. Eating and drinking are also pleasures. It's not about trying alcohol. If you want to entertain thousands of people, that's all part of it. It is also a fact that a certain number of people get into a better mood with a little alcohol, and actively participate during the concert. Whether this is sad or not is irrelevant.

HARUNA has been my favorite drummer for the past few years and the work she does is by far better than any one today. Her parts in swan song is amazing. 4' 9" power house.
Great reaction guys. Great song but I wish they'd titled it "Solitary Soldier" rather than the tongue twisting SSS 😊😊. Even Haruna has referred to this one being 'fast'.
I believe there's a good reason why they didn't call it "Solitary Soldier". Abbreviate this and it's just "SS". Then you have "SS" and "Soldier" in the same breath. Unfortunately, we have a lot of conspiracy theorists floating around and this may become unnecessarily controversial for the band. Just speculating...

My favorite song on the new album. Sadly this was not good quality in sound or picture. And this is not Asami s best performance either.

Asami performed well. This is a “pirated” recording from a broadcast of a paid concert on YT. YT "compresses" the video when posting. YT “compressed” the video when the person posted this recording on his channel. Then he “compressed” the recording again when Reactors published their reaction. Accordingly, the quality of the picture and sound has greatly decreased compared to the original. 🤗
I thought her voice sounded severely strained at this point. She did an admiral job reaching the high notes but couldn't sustain them and maintain the quality of the notes. She will wear out her vocal chords I think.@@GrayFox14
A lot of Lovebites live footage you see here on RUclips was uploaded illegally, either from DVD/BR or pay-per-view live stream. The band has released only a handful of videos of live material, so watch out for that!

Such a hard song to sing especially at the end of a show i think. The vocal jumps are so difficult. You could tell it wasnt official audio but still amazing.

This song is a challenge, a challenge. Very difficult for Asami to sing, she has a hard time getting there, but she sings it with dignity (and always pretty). And Haruna also has to work hard, the guitars too...
These girls are tremendous, but I prefer songs where they really enjoy themselves, they don't need to prove anything.
There are songs in the studio that are impossible to reproduce live, but these ladies do it.
Not like other groups (Judas Priest playing Painkiller, for that matter).
You can tell how intense this is by the fact that Haruna's hair actually got mussed up. Almost never happens. You are so right--she is one of the most economical drummers I've ever seen. Only Senri Kawaguchi may be better in that regard. Miyako wrote this. Another case of daring themselves to pull it off live.

How fast is Haruna going?
They yet have to release a decently mixed live version of this song where you can actually hear bass & drums. This version sounds like it was miked from (bad) headphones. The album version is absolutely incredible, maybe the pinnacle of their work so far. Compared to it this ripped version is very underwhelming, unfortunately.
I'm not a fan of this live video at all. They can do better and I hope they release a better version in the future. This was an illegally recorded upload.

@rubenrada3493 So, would you apply those same standards to any other solo artists who use hired guns to go on tour and do session work? Taylor Swift, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osborne, Dwight Yoakum, the list goes on and on. Madonna and Michael Jackson hired studio musicians to record their music and tour with them. All of those people earned their status the same way Babymetal did.
