Thanks for getting right into it - no upfront begging for subscriptions or long-winded background explanations about why one would want to learn the song or the history of the artist. You just dove right in. good job. I've played this song for decades and always like to see how others play it. I learned it off the vinyl record and there was actually a skip in it that I didn't originally detect - until I played it with my band!
so nice to see this, had to make sure you hear it! as expected, such a pleasure to get a real personal lesson. Getting the licks is so key for someone to learn, not just the strum, and learning those walkdowns is so important. Keith and Gram really blew this one out of the water and created such a great country blues! thanks!!
Wasn't this from 1968 before Keith and Gram got together ?
Thanks. I will spend some time with this one. I always liked this song. I am a hobbyist and I will try to figure out the bar structure. It's probably obvious to better players but I like knowing the song structure. Thanks again.
What amazes is me is how u can remember it …the entire structure 😮my mind just wont stretch that far…😢
Good song - good lesson - Thank you - greetings from Germany!
Thanks!
Only found out yesterday would an excellent Keith Richards acoustic lesson 👍🙏
Wow, great lesson, thanks. It sounds really good.
My pleasure :-)
Outstanding instruction on this. The right amount of detail at the proper pace, a rarity on YT. Thank you for posting this. I now have a new one to work on!
Thank you so much :-)
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart BTW it appears that you do not play the B note on the 5th string when playing the G chord (in this song). Do you mute it with your G note finger or just avoid it? I am not that good with pick control so I will have to mute it myself.
Yeah... You just skip the 5th string when picking thru the G chord :-)
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart Well I finally got back on this one after a long hiatus and am now in the process of locking it down. It is deceptively complex. Not really difficult to play the individual passages at all but not easy to commit the entire structure/sequence to memory. Or is that just me?
Paint it black, paint it black, paint it black ya devil. Excellent tutorial Howard thanks
The best tutorial i find of this song, thanks so much🙏🙏🙏
Such a beautiful song! I've always really liked it, but I never had the appreciation for it, until I tried to learn it. It's like hearing a great song for the first time, if that makes any sense, lol!!☮❤☮
It does... it's a great tune :-)
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart Happy New Year, Howard!! I really look forward to another fantastic year of learning with you!!
you nailed it well. very nice. love this song.
Howard ci sorprendi sempre per la tua bravura, bravissimo e thank you maestro.👍
Fantastic. Thank you for teaching so well!
Thank you :-)
Thank you so much!!! ❤
Thank you Howard.Excelent!
Note: the Tabs don't show the B note transition from the repeat 8 times phrase to the C arpeggio. I got thrown because I first just practice tabs and learn the rhythm after I learn the notes.
Trop bon, j'ai toujours voulu apprendre ce titre, merci beaucoup.
Great job
Tanx mon for the lesson.
Really, really nice! Thanks...you Gave made públic service!!!!
Well done.very beneficial info taught well..
Good lesson, dude.
Thanks!
Of all the songs I play, Love in Vain is the only one my dog comes over to listen.
ALWAYS want to speed this up.😂😞
Great tune and fun to play 😉
😎👍❤🖖
Great song, great lesson. Thanks.
Great job! Thank you!
Yeeesss fantastikkkkk okay
Accurate and very well taught! 😀
Thank you! 😃
Really great, especially with the tab
Thanks :-)
Excellent. I hope you can do the slide part! Thx.
The proof that Keith don’t play only in open G.
On Yaya's Mick Taylor played the Slide in Open G. Keith played this in std but he has a bunch of guitars in different tunings . He plays Brown sugar , Tumbling Dice , Can't you hear me knocking , HonkyTonk Women ,, Start Me up and a ton of others in open G
super tuto merci!
Yeah man! Great
Howard, most people play this song with a capo on the third fret. Was the live version played in a different key than the studio version? I am just loving your Stones tutorials. While you are on the Stone's theme, I would like to make a request for Monkey Man and Midnight Rambler both versions from the live Get Yer Ya Ya's Out album. The live version of Midnight Rambler for me is the definitive version from the Stones. Cheers!👍👍
Great choices. Great songs IMO. I'd like to learn the intro to Angie myself, 50 yrs & still can't get it right.
I agree with the live version of Midnight Rambler... They just rocked it out. And yes, the LET IT BLEED acoustic version is with a capo - but the live version is without, and in standard tuning... Go figure :-)
Love The Stones stuff! Any chance of doing Country Honk? Some really good acoustic by Keith on that. I've been trying to get it for years. I can get bits and pieces of it but can't seem to put it all together.
Great suggestion!
Do the stones open with a d?
No... They open with the G chord on the live version.
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart and the album its a D chord?
How about the original by Robert Johnson?(another attempt by Robert to try to do it like Lonnie Johnson [The GOAT IMO]
Just a suggestion, if you could figure out Lonnie Johnson "Blues In G"(yes that's where I got it from, but my name starts with G as well. Trust me it was my 2nd choice, for a name, blame ASCAP, for not giving me my first choice 👌😉😊)
:-)
