    Basically your videos are a go to 😂 I just realized as a new player in flight alignment must be done maybe more often then I thought

    Thank you a lot sir, i just landed from a aborted BARCAP due to me spas out on the controls during alignment and not checking before take off.
    I believe IN-FLT ALIGN takes roughly 3:30 minutes or so.

    Awesome. Made me so many problems online after rearming, when shutting down engines and so on. Thx!

      When in land, if u are going to shut down engines call ground seervices to put external on you. In f16, dont touch the main power supply, i mean the same as if the engine still works(call it before shut down engine)

    This is awesome! I accidentally moved my INS dial off of Nav and it messed up my alignment and my HUD was way off. Thanks a lot man!!

    This is going to work only in mission with gps enabled right? So for missions set pre 1991 is not gonna work

      @@derekparker3945 In what way is it not working??

      @@BogeyDope I'm currently trying the Weasels over Syria Campaign, and I've run into a very inconsistent issue where sometimes the autopilot just doesn't work. I'm using the stored heading INS alignment option, waiting for the HUD and DED to display the flashing ALGN and READY messages, then setting it to NAV. I don't know if the Data Link has anything to do with it but I'm making sure the TIME page shows GPS SYSTEM before turning on the MIDS. 8t times out of 10 everything works fine, but occasionally Autopilot just does not work. Neither ALT or ATT hold seems to have any effect. Checking the forums and some other resources, the consensus seems to be that if your autopilot isn't working it's because you messed something up during the alignment. Seeing as I can only tell it's an issue after I'm airborne I was hoping an in-flight alignment would fix it but not if I need the autopilot to do it so I guess that's a no-go. As far as I can tell when I'm having the issue everything else is working fine and as it should sans the autopilot. Thanks for your response.

      @@BogeyDope yeah fair enough. It happened again last night for part one of red talon. If It happens again I’ll save the track and send it to ED. Probably should have done it last night. Thanks.
      Also generally appreciate your viper for dummies series. Made most of my checklists off of that. Cheers.

    What about when you land and fix the air craft and need to align again. Is there a faster way rather than waiting 10000 minutes.?

    • @BogeyDope
      @BogeyDope  Год назад

      In that scenario, you have to do either a full alignment. Or you can attempt an inflight alignment, but it won't be as good as a full alignment unfortunately.

      @@IulknPdshb When you start up, select Norm on the INS knob instead of Stored. It takes much longer. You'll have to input your parking coordinates while it aligns

      There's a bug when you repair?

    • @jfiery
      @jfiery 2 года назад

      @@BogeyDope yeah the Ins loses its direction anytime you shut down for a damage repair and restart. I guess I should clarify that restarting and doing the typical INS setup doesnt work and niether does just ignoring it and trying to hope it saved the old alignment. It does it whether landing at original base or a different one. I may or may not have discovered this while damaging landing gear constantly when learning how to land it. But it does it even if I get damage from A/A fire.

      By the way, your vids are by far the most clear and concise for the Viper I've ever come across so thanks for the help.

    • @BogeyDope
      @BogeyDope  2 года назад +9

      @@jfiery Yes, if you power it down, you will have to do a full alignment. And if that happens, yes an inflight alignment should correct the misalignment when you power back up. However, you can keep your alignment if you ask the ground crew to apply ground power before you shutdown. Then shutdown. This should keep your alignment. Don't forget to have ground crew remove ground power before you leave though!
