On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. I absolutely adore SEAD. Really puts a more practice-oriented lens on the content than the usual duel vids. Fighting in a vacuum is nice and all, but it's nice seeing something a bit more involved.
I ALWAYS enjoy the missions; and you do a good job of definitely making them challenging for you, entertaining for us.
I've also found MiG-21s to be surprisingly resilient when going for gun kills. Not sure how accurate it is, but usually they take fairly sustained hits of 20mm before they go down.
They are basically flying blocks of metal
You should see a MiG 25 or a 31 THOSE are quite literally made of steel

More SEAD would be awesome! More multirole stuff in general would be kinda cool, mixing it up with like some CAS in contested airspace or whatnot 👍 But keep doing what you enjoy, it's more fun to see you having fun than to do stuff just to check it off a list

Great vid as always! My home country (Slovakia) is replacing our old MiG-29s with 14 F-16 Vipers, first ones should arrive in 2024, can't wait to see them. Our pilots are already training with the 162nd wing in Tucson, AZ!

Aye growling! Can you do a dogfight between the F-15 and F-18? I feel like I’ve never seen one at all. It would be interesting because of the 2 circle and 1 circle tactics. The F-15 is good at both, 85% of the time. F-18 is really good at the 1 circle, but against the F-15 in a 2 circle it will be really challenging.
This is speculation but that nose authority from the 18 will dominate the 1 circle I feel.
My dude.... how hard is it to look up "growling sidewinder f15 vs f18"? Cuz I did and immediately found 2 videos with that title on his channel......
Especially with the new F-16 FLCS updates... last fight on GS channel used the old slow 16 model.
@@bigbitehood1353 To addon, there’s only one dogfight, 3 years ago. They have updated the flight models accurately better, and the F-15 and F-18 merging on the other video is a shoot to kill on merge. They were BVR fighting.

Honestly, some of both. The F-16 is legit a beast, but GS is also legit good.

Awesome. Even Doug Masters would have been proud of that mission although he probably would have gunned the enemy tower while rocking out just to teach them a lesson.
For those who do not know. Magnum is brevity code for anti-radiation like the AGM-45 Shrike, Rifle is the code for electronic guidance like the AGM-65 Maverick.

This is the kinda stuff I like. I got into DCS after reading Viper Pilot by a F16 pilot who did SEAD operations, so this is right up that alley. I'm learning the basics of DCS on the F16C and hope to get to this level of flying.
some tips for HARM usage:
- The circle shape in the HTS gives a very accurate representation of max launch range, the SA-5 was within launch range for a good portion before you fired
- HARM can do very high off-angle shots, similar to Aim-9X, I would not worry about range or aircraft orientation as long as the HTS says its within range
Time to see the F16 follow up on the airbase with some sweet air-to-ground and gun strafing runs
F-16 is such a beast! ever since I was a young lad, I always have considered the F-16 as the first thing that comes to mind when someone says "fighter Jet". It's just such an amazing Aircraft and the HUD in Visor is just one other thing that makes this Jet a true masterpiece in my opinion. I mean, the fact he took all those Vehicles out, and the four Migs? Absolute carnage of a beast! Tie all that into its massive Thrust to weight ratio and its just one of the best fighters by far! Great Flying and defending as always GS! I love the updates as of recent, keep up the amazing work as always brother

You flying F16s makes me think of the Iron Eagle movies..
With Ukrainian pilots training on the F-16 and being newly armed with HARMs, I would love to see something like this against Russian air bases with Su-30s
HARMS are already being used by the Ukrainians, The probably jury rigged it to work with their MiG-29’s Or SU-27’s
They're not training in the f-16's, all I've read is repeated "no's" to that request. It might happen but it's not public knowledge yet. I think it's rather unlikely

@@Irinananana Considering the failure of the Russian defences at Saki Airbase among others, I would take claims about their performance with a grain of salt.
They have no F-16s and practically no pilots, definitely a fantasy scenario.

Worked on HARM missile program for 10 years when it was still being produced by Texas Instruments. Very good weapon.

Not sure if you listen to the Fighter Pilot Podcast, but they have an episode dedicated to talking about the Wild Weasels. It's easily one of my favorite episodes, and the Weasels are absolute badasses lol. More SEAD missions would be awesome to see!
That was a great episode. I read Dan Hampton's book Viper Pilot after listening to that. Well worth the time to read for guys fascinated my air combat like us.

I think SEAD missions are great. You get a little bit of everything. A2G, A2A, BVR and WVR, sometimes simultaneously.
Love the variety of enemies and the new mission type in this one. Keep it going, super interesting!

It would be interesting to see an Apache take on a mission similar to this and see if it can defend itself against fighters while completing it's mission against some ground targets + AA.

Very cool that your F-16 is a Wolf Pack jet. Kunsan Air Base, 80th TFS. That’s the yellow tipped vertical stab. When I was at Kunsan I was in the the 35th. Blue tipped vertical stabs.
just how impressive is dcs? The realism they have brought to this. I imagine this could be an amazing tool for the cadets just begining the fighter pipeline. To learn theory and capabilities like this. I can't imagine their simulation program could surpass this by much.

Now switching to a totally different subject but wow, this simulator looks like it's the Combat version of MS Flight Sim. I need it. Thank you so much for the amazing video, I'm gonna play this sim as soon as I get my hands on a good HOTAS (or tbh, when I can afford one) :)
I'd love to see some Ace Combat style missions. I think you're one of the few DCS pilots that could survive a scenario like that in DCS. I tried an F-18 Campaign and realized that only a superhuman could survive legitimately.

My SEAD target of choice is an SA-10 accompanied by an SA-19. Very tough nut to crack.
I like the more complex missions for sure. I also like when you run out of issues and have to finish with guns. Makes it exciting.
