I get that this is a really neat device but to me it only looks like it does flat bevel, not convex, which alot of scissors are. Am I incorrect in what I'm seeing?

Pretty nice device. I'll do alike, yet must comment on grinding the arms AROUND CONNECTING SCREW! It is very important to avoid thinning arms with no thinning their pivoting base. Otherwise the arms couldn't touch each other!

if you want to sharpen freehand mount a horsehide to oak block and spray a diamond liquid to soak in the hide . It will do a good job on resharpening a slightly dull scissors.

Like are you serious.the stone is too corse. And just from the sound of the scissors you can realize it.
600 grind can sharpen a scissor to cut anything but not hair.so my friend The video is about how to not sharpen a scissor

If it was a coarse stone, it would remove WAY more material. It's a very hard stone, like natural stones are, that's why it makes that sound. If it wasn't a fine stone, you would have seen way more black slarp creatied on the stone, from the steel been removed, if you norice,, not only you don't see much black slarp on the stone, but also the edge bevels of the scissors, look like they have been barely touched!!! I see exactly the opposite than what you see here. Actually, its by far the most professional sharpening, Ive ever seen in my life and I'm a professional myself. since the 80s.
