Bishop Barron - you are a walking, talking Homily Aid! What a blessing you are to so many of we priests. I often swipe your material and people commend me on my homily. I just tell them to thank Bishop Barron.
Bless you Bishop! Not only do your homilies enlighten me on the theology of our church- but you always provide how we can apply this knowledge to our lives . You are truly a Good shepherd. Thank you for feeding us sheep! Peace Be With Your Spirit!
Thank you Bishop Barron. These sermons each week are something I look forward to in great anticipation and have not been disappointed. We really need Jesus to stand shoulder to shoulder with us now ....
Perhaps we need to concentrate less on how Our Lord was like us and more on how we can conform ourselves to, become more like, Him. If we did that, there might be more peace and love and less sin in the world.
Wow! What a staggering truth you're unveiling Bishop Barron! Jesus did not only come to be in solidarity with us sinners but as a sacrificial Lamb to offer himself to God our Father! Thank you so much Bishop.
I suspect that if we all truly understood the words "for God so LOVED the world" we'd lead very different lives. If we truly knew how much God loved us we'd LEAP out of bed every day, be truly joyful in all things and be so much more thankful for our existence. Thank you Bishop Barron for helping me to better understand that love.
Thank you Bishop Barron for this beautiful picture of the love of the Father to the Son and the love of the Son to humankind through the Holy Spirit. For me this Love is so immense that it leads me to meditate in depth the sacrifice He embraced for our salvation....my salvation. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for your inspiring words. God bless you always. Maria
Thank you Bishop Barron! I especially love the part about how Cardinal George told the seminarians that they are not priests if they just drop moral truths on people and walk away, but rather they need to stand with them and bear the burdens with them (not that God's truths are burdensome in and of themselves, as our second reading today told us they are not, but we all have burdens that still come as a result of living by God's laws). And the idea of Jesus coming down and standing side-by-side with us sinners, and sacrificing himself, reminds me of how Venerable Fulton Sheen would always say a priest is to be a priest-victim. They should not only share in Christ's priesthood but also his victimhood. I thank our priests who stand with us as Christ stood with those in the Jordan! God bless you Bishop! I shall pray for you.
*Where you stumble, that's where you dig for treasure.* Thank you for digging for the Gospel treasure, Bishop Barron: Jesus' identification with us sinners is what we need to hear now, in January 2021.
Thank you Bishop Barron. I went to Mass this morning but was late, we were outside, no speakers (small parish in Nor CA) and I couldn't hear the readings or the homily. You completed the message for me this morning. Thank you!
Thank you for guiding us to understand the meaning of Baptism of Christ. It was revelation of His true mission, revelation of the Holy Trinity, and revelation to John the Baptist as to people of Old Testament of the genre of Messiah Who will fulfill the prophecies.
He hung on a cross at the end of his life next to two sinners. His entire public life was standing shoulder to shoulder with the outsiders and sinners.
Your homilies always touch my heart. For me, the most inspiring was your homily on Forgiveness. I cried during that homily and forgave people who had hurt me. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Magnificient portrayal of Christ the Son and His Baptism by John, with Mark’s Gospel further helps us to understand what God the Son has given us. Another gift to us as we live our lives.
Bishop your words on the batism lifted my soul to the words of St Auguestine " the face of the christian is the ressurected Christ .... no matter what our life is hidden in God in Christ...thanks for feeding our soul...
Thank you Bishop Barron. A wonderful homily that causes me to think much more deeply about John’s baptism of Jesus and it’s full meaning for all of us. What I find almost unbelievable is that when asked by you, so many “practicing Catholics” didn’t equate the language “The Lamb of God” with sacrifice!
Thank you so much Bishop Barron. I really look forward to listening to your sermons each weekend and then sharing them with family and friends. I can honestly feel our father speaking to me thru you.God Bless you and keep you safe, “Shoulder to shoulder”🙏
Listening to this sermon as I am on Jan. 10, 2021 with the sounds of insurrection - the shouts and chants of murderous hatred, the agonized screams of the injured and dying - ringing in my ears gives what the bishop is talking about a whole new meaning. The Lord God, the Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity came down into human form to become the Lamb of Sacrifice for men and women who, though calling themselves Christian, are filled to overflowing with hatred, with violence, who have abandoned themselves wholly to the Devil. That's the reality. And it humbles me in all it's breathtaking enormity, because maybe I'm not as different from the insurrectionists who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 as I'd like to think. God's love is truly infinite and beyond human comprehension.
Thank you Bishop Barron, i really look forward every week to your Sunday sermon. Thank you for the spiritual depth and the scholarly knowledge. It really helps my meditation of the Gospel.
Stand shoulder to shoulder with sinners only Christ. We the corrupt and condemned, we were warned. Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
When Abraham was about to sacrifice his Son, God commanded him to stop and said he would provide the sacrifice and there was a lamb which they would then sacrifice, a thousand years later, Jesus comes, "Behold The lamb of God"
Yes!!Great insight (although I think Abraham was 1700 years before Christ). Had Abraham killed Isaac there also would be no Israel and no Mary and no Joseph and no salvation. This moment is another one of those key moments
Bishop, I watch your videos quite a lot - from Australia. What strikes me about them is that you display an exquisite love of the word, the language and I can relate to this with my love of Beethoven and Bach. There's a kind of elegant symmetry in the words you love and this is infectious. Happy New Year!!
Thank you for this message as I try to navigate in a culture that I don’t understand. I find this homily an inspiration to give me a deeper understanding and strength
This is exactly what we need to hear from our pastors that Jesus was one of us people need to identify with being normal people and sinners blessed be God for this
Thank you bishop Baron for the beautiful sermon given today. I got so wrapped up in, i could feel it thru my whole being. Really enjoyed it all. I love to hear you speak. Thanks again.
The story told in Les Miserables is what truth , love, redemption is about.... Jesus just saw everyone as people, in need of care in the hardest moments of life....that is the only absolute... no matter what so called sin you believe you have committed.
Thank you so much Bishop Barron for opening the eyes of our hearts and minds to the meaning of the Gospels and helping us put ourselves in those times standing in humility shoulder to shoulder with our LORD and Savior. GOD bless you and your ministry. 🙏
I’m trying to understand how somebody can down vote this truthful video Let’s all pray for them ....that their hearts and their minds and their ears and eyes will be opened
The way I see it is thus - since God is holy and men are unholy, God decided that he must come down to earth to cleanse us and make us holy because only the one who is all holiness can give to men the holiness which they lost through their disobedience. It's more like a father tying his child's shoe laces when the child is too young to tie them by itself. And since all the child's friends are equally ignorant of how to tie a shoelace the child must seek out it's father whom it can trust will tie them well. This must make us wonder at the love that God has for us and live out the rest of our lives with grateful hearts.
Thank you Bishop Barron for your scholarly insights. You continue to be a gear Evangelizer .-continued prayers for this great Mimistry and your Episcopal 6
If sacrificial death is the ultimate expression of God's love, we must recognise Christ's crucifixion as the sum total of our individual crosses. No one can escape the burden of his own cross, but few pick up theirs and follow Him. And fewer yet recognise their own in those of others. The next time we are tempted to condemn, remind ourselves that we are called to the priesthood of Christ, the sacred office of redemption of sinners. No, not as judge, jury and executioner, but the instrument of Christ's message of faith, hope and love. In Christ alone is our burden light and easy!
I nearly always love your homilies, Bishop Barron, but this one-THIS ONE-so succinctly takes us into the Real Presence that there can be no wishy-washy commentary that would seek to subvert it. For those who are getting this for the first time, welcome! And now, embrace your savior and your God in holy communion, and go tell others the good news.

May God bless you Bishop Barron. Your words are bringing me back to the Church. Today’s homily brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you Bishop Barron. I went to Mass this morning but was late, we were outside, no speakers (small parish in Nor CA) and I couldn't hear the readings or the homily. You completed the message for me this morning. Thank you!
This beautifully explains the uniqueness of Christianity
Thank you for guiding us to understand the meaning of Baptism of Christ. It was revelation of His true mission, revelation of the Holy Trinity, and revelation to John the Baptist as to people of Old Testament of the genre of Messiah Who will fulfill the prophecies.
He hung on a cross at the end of his life next to two sinners. His entire public life was standing shoulder to shoulder with the outsiders and sinners.
Beautiful !
Am I the only one who always thinks that The HOLY SPIRIT is dwelling in bishop Barron's tongue in all his sermons?
Yes, he has a wonderful gift
I cannot attend mass and turn to you Bishop Barron each week - my spirit is filled and fed during this time when the Eucharist isn’t available
Your homilies always touch my heart. For me, the most inspiring was your homily on Forgiveness. I cried during that homily and forgave people who had hurt me. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Wonderful Homily! Thank you Bishop Robert. FromTrish, Australia.
