- I truly never thought I would step foot in a commercial bakery to work again, but here I am decorating 1,200 cupcakes---THIS IS NOT EVEN AN EXAGGERATION! In today's video I talk about the differences between working from your home based bakery and working at a commercial storefront...all while I decorate what felt like a million cupcakes!

So hard to do holidays as a mom with little kids. It’s either I make money or I enjoy my family 😫😫 I did 9 cakes for Friday and Saturday and all were birthdays/ baby showers! I’m proud because it’s my biggest week since I started in November! Thank you did all of your tips and trick it’s so help and I am very thankful for your channel

This was so easy to relate to and honestly very nice to hear. I just recently started interning at a local bakery that specializes in decorating sugar cookies. You’re spot on about how you have to adjust to doing something different than you usually do in your own kitchen. Also you’re 100 percent correct about being more relaxed at home. I guess when you’re working with others you get a sense of needing to fulfill your duty? It’s hard to say. Amazing video though. You did a beautiful job with those cupcakes :)

A very basic idea but not one obvious to us that have never worked in a commercial setting: put the naked cupcakes in the box first, then decorate them! 😂

I needed this today. I'm making a small cake for mother's day at my mother in law's house tomorrow, also my first time in someone's house since all of this started, so my nerves are just in a weird place right now. But I'm so excited ❤️ and that ABCream is awful on the hands 😂
And I've never worked in a bakery, but if this is still my thing when my youngest gets into school, I think I might try and apply local for a little while, just to have that kind of experience! I know a bakery has to work like a well oiled machine, and I work best in a team with people nearby, even if they're not helping with my own project! I do enjoy my little business, but sometimes I just miss having someone tell me what to do instead of winging it 😂
Oooo that’s exciting you get to go to someone’s house again!! Yes, American buttercream hurts after a while haha. I highly recommend anyone that wants to do their own home baking thing should work at a bakery even for a short while. It’s such invaluable learning for sure!

At about 1minute you use an inverted type of stamp. How do you get the fondant icing to release so nicely from the stamp? Did you do anything to the fondant?
Just a little bit of corn starch!!

You did an amazing work, so impressive that you made that without being a regular worker there. Just dislike when the thumbnail is not the same as the actual content they are pretty as it is 💕
And girl you gotta get payed real money, don’t settle with sprinkle. It’s your time and good work! I know it’s your friend but she should have insisted to pay money and give you sprinkles! It’s a hard business to get by in, and we need good examples 💕

If it were any other friend, money would definitely be the currency, but we do a lot for each other behind the scenes so although sprinkle pay might seem minimal, it’s definitely more than enough for me. My cupcake liners crease or wrinkle I heard that you can use rice at the bottom to prevent them from crinkling wrinkling or widening too much any tips on how to stop my cupcake liners from wrinkling?
Hmmm what do you mean wrinkle?? I’ve never had this!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe they crinkled they don't keep their shape sometimes after I drop the batter in and might get an extra crease or two then can't shape it back after the battery is in I hope this makes sense

U mentioned that in commercial where many coloured buttercream are easily accessible, did u mean that someone else just mixes a large batch and has them ready for u or they outsource to make the process easier?
They’re able to make them in large quantities and colour them. This particular bakery colours and makes their buttercream from scratch, but some do purchase ready made in bulk too!

You can always buy store bought cake and decorate them or even plain cake form bakery and decorate it. Save money and time.
