I genuinely would not change the current colour scheme, I prefer it to your original one. As for the seat, its a nice piece of kit, id keep that to one side and just place in some foam (moto gp style) if youre only looking for a low seat anyway. In all its current form, id enjoy it for how it is, maybe bronze wheels or something but enjoy it dont tinker 😂
Any plans to get the hayabusa finished ?, You had finished the front on it and started another project but said you were going to redo the backend of it .
Thanks buddy, it's wonderful to have it back in my life and this time I can afford to keep it... how often can we say that? Thanks for your kind support.
Thats a serious looking bit of kit and good news for some of the upgrades added. My suggestion, should you wish to accept is a Mosfet Rec/Reg. they charge at 800 RPM so the grip heaters don't turn off, and more importantly they never get hot. Very important for carb model Blackbirds. Also laser headlamp, but you may decide that its not worth it. Lovely looking bike, would love to see it run. Probably smoke my (lovely) Blackbird :)
Thanks Tony, interesting suggestions, and sounds like a good upgrade and I very much doubt this would smoke a Blackbird it's only a 750 and without a fairing, the rider would top out before the bike does lol
Looks fantastic and I love the Green colour scheme, I would say keep it. I owuld add the belly pan back, in Green in keeping with what is already there. It is a Kawasaki after all. It amazes me what ideas people come up with and how they then achieve them. Sadly I lack that sort of vision.
Sadly the belly pan has gone, previous owner disposed of it, he fitted his own make shift one for a while, but that wasn't for me... kinda liking the look of it without one, and it'll help to transform it for a new look!
Hi Del, Love the bike mate, if it was me I would take it back to how it was..the weathered Kwaki look that you had on the original looked superb with the black base coat and the mottled green and white. Apart from that love it the way it is...maybe some coloured wheel rims?
Hey Del and Penny, nice to see you have your bike back. I wish I had my CB900, gut sometimes you have to sell one to get another. As for the colour that's a had one, only you can sort that one out. But it looks sweet in Kawasaki green. Have a great weekend and take care. Cheers
Thank you for your kind words, there's always a bike or car you wish you'd never sold and it's great to have this one back here in the garage! Have a great weekend there, keep safe, D&Px
Love the green and white, having said that something not so Kawasaki would be sweet. My favourite colour is orange, however I’m loving baby blue colours these days. What ever you chose I know it will be mint 👍🏻
I loved this build Del, the belly pan was a stroke of genius, keep it a leary colour as its a proper hooner....i cant wait to see what you end up doing....i was gutted for you when you sold it,as it was a real labour of love
Sure was Dave, and thankfully rolls forwards, we did sell it to fund another project, but this is a private little treat to keep... hope you're keeping well there!
I think it would suit a cool, fast looking ducati red and white colour scheme. I wish I could get my old 1970s CZ 250 enduro with its swish band and dinner plate rear sprocket. Old-fashioned tec. Had some fun on that. I'll tell ya.
Wow, so lucky to get the bike back Del and only 1,000 miles added. Not my type of bike but looking forward to the project as with all your projects. So pleased for you and I can see you have plenty of ideas so lets get into it👍
Awesome video ! Omg brother !!! I am so happy for you, what a treat ! I've been always looking for my 05 zx6r that I had to sell and believe me I wanted it back so bad . That fact that you were able to have it back is priceless brother !!!! Great job , can not wait for more to come !!! Stay safe guys cheers from New York !!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
As you say Del amazing you got your old bike back. Look forward to see this latest Project develop. Its certainly a lary looking bike with a new paint scheme to suit and everything else you have planned will be just the job👍
Thanks so much Richard, it's wonderful to get it back having had to sell it when I didn't want to, and really looking forward to stamping my own mark on it!
colour? whatever Penny says! 😊 I'm watching it again next day, I was a bit dumbstruck yesterday . Not negatively but just , i didn't see that coming. A day later, what a great opportunity! Peace and love to you both . ✌️❤ Ps, your channel, your bike, your rules! 👍
Been following your GSX1400 project, as I have a bog standard 2002 version, which I am leaving standard. Its worth more and any bike meets, people like it better than a trick one. So l have subscribed to your channel and will follow this with interest.
I remember the bike build Blast from the passed . I couldn’t agree more If I could get hold of my old Honda SS50 when I was 16 Suzuki Gs125 when I was 17 Yamaha TZR250 when I passed my test.
Interesting to see the changes others have made, quite like the paint as it stands but not my bike. Also some really nice upgrades electronics wise. would you not count damage B1200 as the first custom bike though? it had a custom tail unit, trailer and everything. look forward to seeing where it goes.
Yes of course, rolling back before YT i made a fair few other bikes, and the B120 was cool, but it developed over a long 4 year ownership and remained on the road pretty much the whole rime... this bike was a "roll in" single run build, and i made some drastic changes to this that i never would have attempted before..! Wish we could keep them all aye !
Love the new look of it, proper streetfighter now. It'd be a tough job but a custom exhaust through the tail where the light is CBR600RR style would be the cherry on top.
Excellent- i am generally quite a modest conservative sort of guy in taste (or am I? 😂🤣) however I think a bike like that should have a lairy looking paint job. I bought a blade - just as I was in the process a mate of mine bought the same colour I was going to get - so I got the Repsol colour scheme - was worried but never regretted it. Do it 😊😊
I absolutely loved your creation Del, though I'd forgotten you did it! On this one, I think a really popping paint job is required. Something a bit rock/goth/metal on black? Some tasty electronic upgrades though, very trick
You look like an excitable child at Xmas Love the look of this bike Good luck Think long and hard as to what you are going to do to it And please listen to Penny Watching with interest
Great video Del. I absolutely remember the Fighter Build with over 170 awesome videos. I wish the previous owner had kept the mudguard and the belly pan. You had a lot of hours into making them. Have a great weekend.
Sounds good dell am glad you’ve got ya old steed bk a followed the build and was blown away With the wrap at the end ,,, a like a Dell build anyway so look forward to 🤷🏼♂️what ever evolves 👍🏻 All the best 🇬🇧🍺👍🏻
Nice ride ....liie the rear .......hard to explain but id maybe get some white /green writing on the wheels give it some extra snazziness esoecially when on the move
Your bike would look really mean with a black and purple color combination. Kinda fade from one color into the other. Think about it, it would look awesome going down the road. Cheers
Super awesome bike Del...glad you got it back man....i wish i could get my 2003 cvo anniversary road king back but unfortunately im not financially able to, but i do have an 04 road king now with big plans for...anyway, cant wait to see what you do with your amazing machine. I think original kawasaki colors black and lime green should be the base colors...
I totally agree buddy, that was the case with this, I saw it for sale a few years ago and couldn't afford it at the time, but now we can, it was too good to pass up!
Gorgeous, Del! How lucky to get it back. You didn’t happen to see my Yamaha DT125 there, too, did you? 😎😎😎. Good luck with this project… let Penny rock it with her color scheme! 🏍️👍🏍
How lucky to get your scoot back! I love that headlight! As far as the paint scheme, it looks really cool as it is, but I bet since Penny is offering up a different idea, that idea is the one to go with. She would know what floats your boat at least as well as you do, if not better. We tend to compromise our own ideas for various reasons , like with the practicality of making a last-minute change, or sticking with our choices for financial reasons in regards to the cost of new paint or graphics, etc... She probably knows what you REALLY would like, but for whatever reason, hold back on. I say listen to Miss Penn. She has good taste, right? At least in bikes she does!! :) I look forward to see what's next!
Thanks Tommy, you're right on so many levels, she has a good eye for design and colour, and thankfully this time I'm not constrained too much by budget, so am sure we'll come up with something that looks just right!
Hey Delboy and Pitstop, I'm a hayabusa man and I love watching your old vidz, and I was hoping that your next project was to finish the busa. but when I saw the start of this vid and some of the parts on the bike I thought that this was you street fighter project and as it turns out, yes it was and I just finished watching those vidz yesterday. so how ironic was that?
I know the feeling when you put so much effort into a bike and then sell it, I regret selling my cafe racer! I remember that build well buddy. Some trick upgrades there for sure! looking forward to this one 😀 ATB, SR
I'm glad it found it's way home, brother. I honestly like the profile better as it is now, personally. As to colors....Maybe like a dark forest green and black? Or, and DBG styled bike in black and red? Excellent vid, as always, brother!
Thank you so much Brother, im glad you approve, It does need a new livery to make it stand out, and im loving the suggestions.. starting next week, wheels out for paint first ! Hope life is good, and you and the guys are all cool..!
It's great to get an old favorite toy back. With improvements! I know it's a Kawi but I was never enthused by that green. I'm thinking do the green in black cherry candy, The white in a red metallic candy and the black stripe in canary yellow. OR just paint it any color but Kawi Lime Green Also, the stripe on the headlight is too high. It needs to be at the same level as the tank stripe when viewed from the side. It's the personalizing/customizing of my bike that is half the draw to me. I'm planning big tank and side cover change this winter. But with wrap, I might want something different next winter.
I'm so old I can remember you doing the original! (Back when the channel had eye-candy - Woof!) I vote you dip the whole thing in post-office red gloss & call it 'Telegram Slam' - tasteful, huh? : )xx
It is a stunner! Good you have it back. How fast time flies - already four years gone. Some good ideas from the other owners, like the mudguard and headlight. And good you acknowledge it. Very gentlemanly, mate. Günter/Nürnberg PS: I love this very Kawasaki paint scheme and wouldn't change it.
What a find! So good to have her back. Shame she’s lost a few bits but gained some awesome new ones. What better way to put a smile back in the garage 😎 x
What’s your baby’s name?? Lol… see you got your baby back !! I like the light features on the bike. Nice !! Kinda interesting the kind of bike you rode ….look forward what Penny gonna think up !!! Flowers 🌸 ?? Wink 😅
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement, I'm sure Penny will come up with something classy and stylish... really looking forward to a short make-over project and a fun bike to keep!
Have you seen the 2019 moto GP KTM Red Bull bike #88 colors? With your creative touch those blue and orange colors could look pretty sweet on your new bike. Looking forward to see what you decide to do with this project! 😀
How awesome is it to get another shot at ownership....and I can't believe it's been that long already! I too appreciate the headlight and dash changes, looking forward to what you do with the rest to make it your own!! Have a great weekend!
Sure thing buddy, I agree, it's wonderful to have a second bite of the cherry, the changes that have been made have been largely for the better, and it's great to have free rein to get stuck in without undoing my old work... looking forward to the journey!
That current colour scheme looks amazing ! Really suits it, I say try and run with it as is colour wise.
Let me guess....black?
It certainly won't be that !
I am interested in the keyless ignition
somebody did a fantastic job on that seat looks great
I wouldn't change a thing, it looks absolutely epic. Love the colour!!
Not much of a project if I bought it 🤣🤣🤣
PLEASE DON'T PAINT IT BLACK IT WILL LOOK A MESS !!!
I have been to;d in the past that memory foam doesn’t work on motorcycle seats. Best double check!
I think it looks great as it is (colour and style)
I love the current paint job tbh. Looks good.
agreed, the paint job is awesome. Retro and very much in-style with the bikes flow.
A 80/90s endurance racing half fairing would look awesome on this, has to be green 💚
I like the paint as is
I love the old ZX-7s. I had a 89 I bought from a friend with 4K miles and put 40K on it in 11 yrs. I had it GMD comutracted
I think it looks pretty cool now.
Any plans to get the hayabusa finished ?, You had finished the front on it and started another project but said you were going to redo the backend of it .
I did indeed, just got bogged down with different projects and sometimes never get round to these things, busier than ever these days!
I wish I had my old 1973 Kawasaki 900 Z-1 back. That beast could pass anything on the road but a filling station.
Sure things buddy, nicely put!
Hi Del,
How about a racing exhaust that comes under the seat like a racing bike. Look forward to your reincarnation of the bike..
Great idea, thanks for your input buddy!
I remember watching your build of the bike back in the day 😉
Colour - your ‘Del Boys Garage’ logo, the flames etc.
I'd swap the green out for gold and have a gold and white paint scheme with black lines.
What a blast from the past. As soon as i saw the tail and the light i knew id seen it before. Looking forward to seeing 2.0
Thanks buddy, it's wonderful to have it back in my life and this time I can afford to keep it... how often can we say that? Thanks for your kind support.

I think that, first...you will be enjoy this project....and second we are going to enjoy this project whith you
I didn't see the original build series but from the photos you showed it looked like something that came out of a video game. Very cool.
Hey Del and Penny, nice to see you have your bike back. I wish I had my CB900, gut sometimes you have to sell one to get another. As for the colour that's a had one, only you can sort that one out. But it looks sweet in Kawasaki green. Have a great weekend and take care. Cheers

Goes around, comes around. This was the first project bike I remember. Looking forward to seeing it evolve. 😊
Thanks buddy, looking forward to getting busy with it!
Christ, I’ve not had time in recent years to watch many vids owing to kids. However, I remember following the original build of this bike!

The colour is great, id like to see the headlight raised up a bit to where the dash is
That moment of ‘is the one you made a few years ago, but it looks different’.
A few tasteful mods, raise the front fender a bit a looks great
Very true!
I genuinely wouldn’t change that colour scheme just work with it, it looks epic

How awesome is it to get another shot at ownership....and I can't believe it's been that long already! I too appreciate the headlight and dash changes, looking forward to what you do with the rest to make it your own!! Have a great weekend!
Sure thing buddy, I agree, it's wonderful to have a second bite of the cherry, the changes that have been made have been largely for the better, and it's great to have free rein to get stuck in without undoing my old work... looking forward to the journey!
