Fantastic thanks Alec. Not done much finishing. Have used flat clear acrylic for outdoor and now using liberon black bison wax natural colour for indoor. Gives a warm feel without changing wood colour. Like both.
New sub here, your work is amazing. Wished i could afford your work. I sure hope folks who can are buying from you. If u have time for a question, how did u get started in this and what sparked off your idea's of dojng this. The Birch tree carving was absolutely mind blowing. Actually all your work is,Lol. Good luck to you young man. You deserve to go far.
@AlecLaCasseArt 😆 well thank you 4 that info, but I'm talking about literally "Walrus Oil Furniture Finish" it's in a black jug with white writing. Oil based matte wood finish. 🪵 oh I just realized it's got tung oil, safflower oil, and hemp oil. Sorry, just answered my own question😬
@@AlecLaCasseArtI think you might’ve seen less of that if you applied it and waited a few days before applying the water. Mahoneys takes several days to a week to cure. Do you think the dead flat would perform better with additional coats and still not darken the wood?
Holly Smokes... I used Deft Lacquer on a bathroom cabinet... It did NOT hold up at all... Major FAIL... I had to go back and refinish the cabinet... will NOT EVER use that finish again!!
Thanks for watching guys! Would love to hear what your favorite finishes are!
How do I get a piece commissioned from you and sent to Monaco.
The walnut oil in Mahoney’s will also harden and provide protection. Great video!
Hi Alec
You need to do more whittling you haven’t done any for while I like it when you did your whittling trace 😊

Thanks for the input John!
Minwax water-based poly in satin finish . Apply with the airbrush to my carvings in cottonwood bark.
That's a good one too! Thanks!
Thanks for that! I was also wondering about oil finishes, glad to hear it is working well! Please confirm what kind of wood you used!
Where can I look to possibly buy a piece of your work??

Walrus oil??? You recommended it some time back, but I haven't heard you talk much about it since. Thanks for what you do
Walnut oil! It’s supposed to be one of the main ingredients in Mahoney’s. No problem!

Ohhh, that's hilarious! @@ClumsyZebra4life I'll have to check it out!
Just seen recently all the buildings that last forever in Japan are done in tung oil
Amazing
Thanks. I wish you had wiped them off to see what they did to each finish.
All of the finishes were affected by the water droplets drying on the surface. The droplets left behind little water stains.

May I ask if you do orders?
I would love to see my Mothers face carved by you.
