- In this short video I compare the loading time of the Playstation 5 version of Grand theft auto 5 to my PC, we also get a good look as to how different the main menu is!

The fact this video is only 1 minute long is already amazing !
That's about as good as it will get with this game. High end pc's reach the same time. Other ps5 games however (that aren't 8 yrs old lol), have basically no load times. Ratchet and Clank, Kena, Spiderman, GT7,... load near instantaneously, beating high end pc's. It's just Rockstar and their outdated software that cap the loading times in this recycled game.

It will never load.
To go from main menu to online on PS5 takes around 30 seconds.
To go from an online session to invite only or closed friends on PS5 takes around 7-10 seconds.
A 980 pro would prolly match the ps5, given a good enough cpu

PCIE ssd beat SATA ssd, no shit Sherlock. 870 QVO is not even a good SATA ssd, it’s bottom of the barrel. PS5 has a PCIE Gen 4 ssd, PC should’ve had one too for a more accurate comparison.

The old ver on my series s takes 1 sec to load while the expanded takes way longer
This was 2 years ago. I think this test needs to be run again. A LOT has changed in 2 years time for PC gaming. Faster RAM, Faster SSD drives, WAY FASTER internet. My only issue with this is PS5 GTA V is probably nowhere near as complex as PC GTA V. If you load fewer things, it will load faster initially, but the rest of the draw distance needs to load, etc.
The 980 pro would make for a better match up

to be fair you're using a Sata QVO SSD witch is slower then the EVO counterpart
and a 980 Pro m.2 NVME SSD would most likely be about the same speed as a PS5

I don't know what's wrong with your PC, but my PC's specs are way below yours, but my story mode loads in half the time of yours!

GhillieMaster did a test on the next gen Xbox when it released- and the game loaded in 3 seconds. Granted it wasn't E&E, but considering what we got with the new update, it should of added maybe 6 seconds more to the load times. Don't take this the wrong way either, 20 seconds is still fantastic- least its not 20 years like old gen
As a person with a new Xbox it’s fast less than a minute fast but definitely not 6 seconds

Idk why but when i installed GTA 5 on series x it takes 3 sec to load into story mode but with “E and E” it takes about 20-30 sec to load into story

Not directly related but is it possible to load into private lobbies (Invite, Friends, Crew) from the main menu? I've only seen the front of it but no one has shown if there's subsections in the Freeroam selection.

But lets see the PS5 alt-tab out to change the video running on the second monitor plus enter text to a 3rd monitor without even stopping the game. You have to consider the computer is running about 10,000 other things and this build is crap for older games. Which really seems to be a lost understanding among the noob computer builders these days. You don't build a modern computer with hopes of playing older games better. You build a computer that was high-end when the game was optimized. There is too much to explain to make it clear to a laymen but it is just a fact. I have a high-end built computer with WinXP with in-era parts and a Windows 7 high-end system with in-era parts that easily makes this clear. Yeah I have a hard time selling or trashing perfectly working tech.

@@bobbobson9952 yup GTA V loading times don't make any sense, the game loads in less than 3 seconds on a budget SSD but u still stuck in loading.

the game load even faster and u are connected to the server but u still stuck in the loading screen for no reason.

Man nice that PS5 can now load as my pc I got 2 years ago. Sad that it wont keep getting better for PS5 in the future. At least I can change my Ram, Graphics card, and allow my game on pc to be changed graphics wise.....plus I dont need to pay for a subscription service. PC still above the rest
I wouldn’t say paying $1 every 3 months is a problem. But personally I’ve played both for years and I just enjoy console more. It’s more affordable, better optimized so doesn’t need upgrades/replacements as much, don’t have to deal with modders, integrating pc exclusive things like keyboard support, mods without destroying online play, browser support. Only thing really missing now is a easily accessed/modifiable file explorer but that comes with the con of people modding.
