That's a very good point Mabumba about the saw noises. I went with what the majority chose, but it took me 34 secs to reach the beach so add 6 seconds to the sawdust attempt and there's your finishing time.

In San ANdreas, there is an earlier patch of Sand right at the clucking bell parking lot you pass. There is a missing tree there and its base is filled with sand.

just a heads up, in GTA V you can touch the sand faster you dont even need to get in the car. On franklin's right there is a yellow stair, you climb it to the top and then you need to take a certain distance and jump, you will fall to the other side of the fence and touch the sand.

i think the fastest way to reach sand in GTA SA might be to drive north on the train tracks into the tunnel, then after the tunnel ends the train tracks make a curve first to the left and then to the right, before they curve to the right you will need to jump down into the big hole that will be on your left, then once you’re in the hole you drive north towards the water and there’ll be a tiny beach there. this route is almost straight forward if i remember everything correctly

Im gta the lost and the damned you actually got super duper close to the sand texture for quite a few seconds, all you had to do was bail at 13 seconds on that run. The texture was the exact same all the way to where you bailed.

you could've done a sand-touch speedrun for gta online. A new character spawns at the airport I think, wonder how fast you can reach sand from there! :D
VCS doesn't count. If you were to go slightly further, you'd see there are sewage pipes going through the *dirt*. Also, the dirt is a on vacant house lot. You can't build a house on sand, neither build sewage pipes through sand. That simply isn't sand. If that was sand, it would mean that all the other buildings that have that texture around them are built on sand, which is impossible. Also, why not use the PS2 version? It has higher resolution textures.
GTA5 should really start you as Michael walking along the path that the bench is on. but put the mission marker at the bench for when you want to continue the story.
In GTA III couldn't you just jump on the car jump down from the bridge pass that little tunnel that leads to the docks where you get on the boat with Asuka to leave portland? There is sand there if I recall
In GTA SA isn't it sand underwater in Glen Park? And also isn't it sand in skate park, it might be closer to go there, also you could just go left and fly directly into the ocean to touch it's bottom

In GTA SA, is the shore of Glen Park lake made out of sand or dirt? If it is sand, it might be faster than going to East Beach.
