Sorry for the noob question so from a previous comment you’re fishing in roughly 20’ of water when you drop your rods are you staggering the depths of your jigs and are you putting enough weight to keep them straight down ?
I really don't stagger on the depth. I just monitor how fast the currents going to be and adjust the split shot as needed. My weight is pretty much under the water about 8- 13ft down or so. Where I fish the shad is not all the way in the bottom. They're suspend up around 8 - 13ft.
I'm sorry to hear that. Are you fishing from a boat or on the bank? If you are fishing from the boat the setup, I showed works. If you are fishing from the bank, you would go with a slider weight about 1oz or 3/4 oz.

Were those grubs 1 or 2 inch??? I only have the 2 inch grubs in my area. Does it matter? Thanks
The one I have are the 1in, and I believe the 2in will also work, but I preferred the 1in because it's more productive for me.
With light set up, how far do you drop the jig head? I try your set up but not successfully so far
