Well, it's hard to say since everyone has a different taste. Shad born in river, wild raise in ocean, and they have high level of Omega-3. So they should be good for our health. If you can use shad to exchange for crabs that's even better. Thanks for dropping me a line!
Wow.. I didn't know you a RUclipsr.. 👍👍... nice to see you bro.... I was there last week and today with friend , over 50 shad ... 😂😂... I love shad fishing cuz he fight good... I used light rod 6.8 long and 4 pound line... love my rod bent.... hope you you outer again and shake your hand... 👍
I am glad you like it. It called 1/4" coil lead. I cut them into about 3" in length, and used lead posting pliers to punch a hole on one end to connect to a swivel.
I went to Bonneville dam today and didn't get anything or see other fisherman. When is the best time to go for shad or salmon? I also couldn't find a good spot smh
Best time for Shad fishing is around end of May to end of June. For salmon, spring and early fall. Check fish count and check emergency regulations before you go because they change all the time.
I like both of styles. The swivel + hook style usually works very well on on the sunny day. But you really need the variety of jigs to switch out if something is not as effective on a given day. Although I mainly fish with those two styles. Well, good luck and enjoy catching them.
WAw amazing spot mncing yg masih asri, hsilnya mantap 🤙

No, just the 1/16 oz. jig head. Looks like you are ready for it 😁

Is this on the oregon side? I've never fished for shad. Do people fish the washington side as well?
Yes, this is on Oregon side. Yes, a lot of people fish on Washington side as well.
Yea I just went yesterday for my first timer ever and plenty of people on the Washington side.
The jighead bait and the swivel +hook bait which one is better?

@@WestCoastOutdoors Thanks for your creative and effective methods, I have learned a lot from you.
@@anning4828 I am glad the video helped.
I was gonna go today! Do we need a loop knot to tie the jig sir? Or just a normal uni?
Any knots should work as long it's secured to your line. Dam closes at 5PM on Oregon side, so still not too late to go :)
@@WestCoastOutdoors haha thanks su phu!! I gonna take me 3h to drive lol maybe another day 😀
Is this Bradford island or robins?
Bradford Island.
@@WestCoastOutdoors thanks! And you normally use 1oz pencil lead over there right?
@@user-cm7hs2we9l I didn't weight it but I cut to about 3" length, probably about 3/4 oz.
Should I use 1/16 or 1/8 jigs? Thanks
I would go with 1/16 oz. jigs.
You eat em??
Yes, I do. There are a few recipes that I usually cook them with, slow cook, can, fry, fish cake, etc.
I can’t believe you threw away the best part. Throw the fish away not the roe.
He thought and pretended dat he did not know dat’s why 😂 Americans/European want 2 B
