He's a legend! Plain and simple.
Roy Mathers. In your world. In mine , legends are not so predictable and generic.
Plainer and simpler.
"Pride is not a great thing I ever feel about my work, do you know what I mean? And not that i'm embarrassed about it but... I expect greatness from myself." Genius.
Dislikes ? Why watch this if you want to write derogatory comments ? Don't watch the guy if you don't like him ! You obviously either don't know too much about good music or their is a serious want about you ! So why not just do one ! This man injected real music back to life ! God bless ye kid rock n roll star you are !!!
I like his nice complement to "our kid" :)
Noel SHOULD write a book about behind the scenes Oasis, think it'd great
Great atmosphere of an interview!
Love this man and his music. And how my fingers itch to get tangled up in that magnificent hair of his!
one of his best interviews by far.
he's confident! BIG difference
Cant believe ill be sat where he is tomorrow!!! LONG LIVE NOEL!!!!
To me, his solo album is up there with Morning Glory
He's arrogant, get over it. He's a successful rock n roll star and he knows it so why shouldn't he be! Too many negative comments as usual.
alexc270494 if it was 90%+ of the commenters, they’d be Mariah Carey level arrogant. Barbara Streisand would seam merely confident. He’s just objectively honest, no hyperbole.
It’s all these weird Liam fans who take his word as gospel, not realising that 95% of the time that Liam is just taking the mick and doesn’t even mean it lol.
He’s not arrogant he simply doesn’t take himself seriously
to all the haters ....let's hear some of your records
What he says about Liverpool & Manchester is 100% absolutely TRUE. I'm from Sydney and been to both those cities a few times and there's "something" about those places.......can't explain it.....it's a feeling......a vibe.
This guy is genius. 500 years from now he'll be the Mozart. his genius is still ahead of all the haters that are attached to what he sounds like and who he might be borrowing from. not only that try to even imagine another legit rock star that sounds the same now as he did 20 years ago. he always speaks his mind unlike other insulated wanna be musicians who frequent hollywood parties and walk the red carpet for notoriety. anyone that criticizes his genius is …. well….. you know.
What a legend, anyone who sees his ‘arrogance’ as anything other than his funny ass dry humour is thick af.
I'm Korean and even I can't understand whole the interview but I like Noel's interview. Always.
Rock N Roll Star, Live Forever, Slide Away, Columbia, Bring It On Down, Supersonic, Cigarettes & Alcohol all on the same album. There isn't a dull track on the album. Definitely Maybe was an abberation, it's relevance in the 90's easily puts it in the same conversation as the White Album and Never Mind The Bollocks.
Love Oasis and Noel by the way
He's arrogant as hell, fucking love that.
Hate him or love him all you want you tube trolls, point being, he is richer than you, he has written more songs than you, he is loved for it and has a bigger fan base than you. Whether that's a good enough reason to be arrogant or not. He gave you great music, listen to it and do that.
Well said both 09wez and saxengee2
PLEASE WRITE A BOOK!
I'd go out and buy it the second it came out, and it would be fucking amazing.
Noel, a lad brought up in a council estate, in the west of the uk, of Irish decent & married a scot's lass' No wonder you felt at home in Glasgow kid. Celtic & City!!!!!! yeessssss it's been a long time coming!
"I don't know why it is, I'm not saying that its because I'm a genius, which is quite evident that I am"
Anyone managed to find the second half of this on Absolute Radio? I'm struggling.
Yeah Noel! Come to Malaysia once and you'll see how the fans of you and Oasis are still rockin out! Even the independent bands here credits you.
Rock the Province hell yeah!!!
Definitely maybe was a different level of music. When the grunge scene was blowing up and live music became a negative aura with electronic music blowing up. Suicide was cool in America, but over in Manchester these guys dropped that album, so different and so much better than anything out at the time and maybe even now
It must be tricky in a way being him because he must think to himself "Is this record doing well because it's good songs, or is this record doing well because my name is Noel Gallagher"
They should make an Oasis film
Hail to the chief
So does he have a book coming out?
Come to Cornwall in winter Noel ... Haha , welcome to the dark ages ! , The constant wind and rain we get here can be insane.
Every time I wtire a guitar part I'm trying to steal from Noel Gallagher. And I fail every time. His stuff is so brilliantly simple and so difficult to emulate.
Pretty easy for me, maybe I should make a record
@@Tas896 i'd say you should. Shit, many people thought they could and then did and then realized they couldn't. Kinda like building a better mouse trap.
@@mneugent7658 aye no harm anyway it’s just music
@@Tas896 Well said, Thomas. And lord ain't it fun?
@@mneugent7658 it definitely is, too much money grubbing and people just wanting fame - where is the music?
Defiantly Maybe - the white album lol is it heck!
The man looks utterly fantastic even in terrible lighting. Noel Gallagher 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Good interview but still one of the best is when he is on parkinson now thats a brilliant interview a must see for any fan.
That’s a great interview.
In conclusion: Cold weather places = Cribs of Great bands
God
I don’t get arrogance, I get openness to what he went through in his career. He was happy with “Rock And Roll Star” being his only hit and legacy at the time and admits he’s removed from his core audience because he has “a Rolls-Royce in his garage”.
5:39 - Like a cat
Columbia was their best track and nobody talks about it.
The Devils Advocate love that
Great tune no doubt but it's definitely not THE best
@George15081 - Liam yes, Noel, absolutely not. I love the guy's dry wit. You have to remember that a lot of questions asked by the media are repeated ad infinitum to the point where you can predict them before they are asked. At least Noel makes himself available to the media, whereas his brother acts as though he's above it. Liam is quite insecure really.
I want a walking fridge.
Ya know, you know what a meen!
Yes
He's finally wearing a different jacket hahaha
come on definitely maybe is way better than never mind the bullocks ,
better songs ,
nevermind the bullocks , its just have more rage innit !!!!
Fuck all to do with the interview, but I remember watching this back in 2012 and to think it's now 10yrs later, all these mad, weird things have happened to our world, social media now rules, kids/the younger generation have their own new style of influences to look up to (majority of them being a load of bollex might I add)... Crazy.
picadilly radio.... or as karl pilkington said... Pick a willy raido
Aphex Twin grew up in Cornwall. Sorry Noel!
But he was born in Limerick! :)
Wise up! Do you know your wee comment here isn't that well written? And since it's easy lets hear one of your multi-million selling albums?
Creativity peaks at 27. An age that is infamous in the music industry...
john lennon = genius noel = v good song writer
Tim Comley nooo
When you're that good, you can be as arrogant as you like hahaha
Why is he so defensive to all the questions? Ouch.
noel always looks like he just woke up & hasn't yet had his morning tea & I won't even comment on the hair
I love the brothers, but their new solo things are dull; get Oasis back together please.
The only thing that pisses me off about Noel is when he's derogatory about Manchester, c'mon son Manchester made you!!! but fair play he's a Manc and he's allowed to slag it off I suppose. I love my city I just wished he did. At least he's a blue!!
bascet1 Bender
nothing better than lies. his songs are easy to be writting
Such a bellend
got to say the idea that definitely maybe is on the same level as never mind the B or the white album is laughable...noel famously said hes only ever read one book in his life and it was crap..i suggest that if he had read more that record would be on the level of the other two...Its a good album and i like the band but the lyrics from oasis are pretty poor and dont speak to me...most of the early albums are contrived and a pastiche of all the bands he mentioned...remeber in the 90's it was cool to be stupid and loud and oasis reflect that time perfectly to their credit.
Books?! Fuck off!
He really thinks he's a genius .... Which I don't agree with at all.
87JuliR that's called jealousy
The Most overated song writer and band (Oasis) ever!! Oasis ain't even in The Beatles league. What annoys me even more is the arrogance. Having said that, an intelligent guy and some good songs. Peace.
Way Better than Eurythmics! :)
